Yes, CIC advises applicants not to resign until when residency application is confirmed.

It is also clearly stated by CIC on their website that funds not readily available or liquidated as at the time of providing your proof of funds cannot count, infact they even went ahead to advise if you can sell a land, car or property but using a land document or 10 cars or any document & giving a timeline for the availability of the fund is not accepted except they change the rule tomorrow.
The word unencumbered funds was used for it meaning readily available, not slowed down, free from mortgage or any limitation of the law.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/proof-funds.html
Lets be guided accordingly so we dont slow our application process. Its not about what we feel or think or feel they think, it about the stated rule.

Oga, 25% funds is not encumbered o. Check that definition again, it is only subject to some conditions. Just like T-bills is until maturity or fixed deposit. It is available to you just that you need to ensure that anything sine qua non to withdrawal is met. in this instance - dISENGAGEMENT. Many have used it and no issue was raised even for up to 50% of the POF.

I disagree @ the bolded. It means that people that have been married for 5years but have not changed names on their passport may not get the PR for this reason.

kunmi5:
Hi Solomon, its not worth taking that risk. Infact, the CRS point system is structured in a way that if favours young, single unmarried individuals than married people. Check your likely CRS score online.

Dont also forget that yout Proof of funds also increases with marriage.

For marriage confirmation, a marriage certificate, newspaper publication for females, your application becomes stronger when her passport is in your name.

More than a dozen people have used 25% pension funds as part of their POF and gotten PPR. It is more than acceptable. Don't comman confuse us here o.

@Kunmi and others: Please I wish to know if whatever my spouse score in IELTS test will still give me atleast 5 points. This is what I was told and I just want to confirm if my spouse 's inability to score the almighty LSRW8777 is an issue to worry about or not. What of if she doesn't even write the IElts test at all? Please, help with the fact.

If you are the PA then the impact of her result won't be very significant. However, since you need just 5 points from her, then I think even a 7777 should do that. Just play around with the CRS calculation tool to know what your permutations would afford you

Congrats to all those who got the golden mail...please i am a bit confused about my NOC.. I wanted to choose NOC 1111 ( Accountant and Auditors) however i am not chartered ,i dont have any accounting designation, i am working as an accountant with my MBA...
On the other hand if i choose NOC 1311( Accounting technician and bookkeeper) Wont that be too unskilled? Since what is needed is only a college degree .. Please kindly advise
Thank you

1. What's your undergrad degree discipline?

2. You don't need an accounting qualification (eg, ICAN, ACCA etc) to nominate NOC 1111, all you need is the relevant accounting work experience and skill. Good thing you even have an MBA.

3. You are a graduate with an MBA, so I don't think its proper to nominate NOC 1311 as you may be sighted for NOC/experience mismatch.

Stay blessed.

It will all end in praise IJN!

The question should have been: is 1311 under skill levels A or B? No mismatch... After ur degree evaluation came back positive, next thing is NOC, what ur job roles fall in.

Hello All,

I just got PPR and I was told my passports should be valid for 6 months. My current passport expires in June 18th 2018 which is now less than six months.

I have an option to take the risk and send my passport or renew .

Now the question;

I am given 15 days to submit my passport, how do I ask for extension to renew my passport?

CC: cochtrane
You needn't be so pedantic about it. If I were you, I'd sent my passport. It's still some six months away from June 18, isn't it? If you'd like to extend though, send your mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

No I wasn't given the money. But 4 months after resignation, one is eligible to withdraw the money. Apply to your pension body for a letter stating you are eligible to collect 25% on resignation, also request for your six months statement of balance. I submitted these two documents. I don't know how to refer to old pages, but search part 2 thread using the moniker 'yimiton', this person gave detailed steps on it and I got my inspiration from there.
Do you understand now?

And also how can i prove working experience of over 5years but i stopped working about a year plus now? my concern being that the mode of salary payment in the last place of employment was on cash basis. Payslips. Maybe not all but some from the period you commenced, some in between and some towards the end. In the absence of this you can request for the reference letter to state that you were paid your remuneration in cash.
So please i will really appreciate if the gurus in the house can help me out.[/b] HELP NEEDED
