[s]all these I too know christians. You are talking passover, breaking of bread. I am talking death and resurrection. And check for the word "after" in my earlier post. Did Jesus himself celebrate his resurrection "after" death not "before". We read about the 3 wise men celebrating Jesus' birth. The fact that birthdays didn't have much record in the bible doesn't make it a bad practice. Has God left the church because of Christmas celebration. The church has grown over the years and more people celebrating Christmas. Many of you don't even understand God and how he works..... you dont![/s]

Which "early Christians create Christmas?" Peter the rock, John the beloved, Paul of Tarsus, or Timothy the grandson of Eunice? Or which early Christians are you referring to?

Which one of these people you mentioned came to Africa to preach the gospel to you or your forefathers? You obviously don't understand the history of Christianity or discipleship.

Why the attack on Christianity always?

You have constituted so much nuisance to everyone such that you no longer make any sense whenever you talk.

Keep quiet if you have nothing to say and stop using Christians and the faith for cheap popularity.

If some of you would stop trying to be more righteous than God. Then you would see the good motive that led the early believers to replace what was an ungodly celebration with one centered around Christ. They were winning souls for Christ by helping unbelivers replace a bad habit with a good one. If not for them and their sacrifices, some of those criticizing such celebrations today would never have even heard of Jesus.

Besides, how does anyone's celebration affect Freeze or you? Let people be.
Don't mind them, they're just deceiving themselves; agents of darkness. All they want to do these days is to create doubts in the minds of people, the word has spoken about them, we're not surprised. That something is not expressly in the word doesn't mean there are no guiding principles, and God has said we're Free to celebrate a day if we want to, most especially when it's about the Son of God... The word is a guide, everything is not plain, but they're out looking for loop holes to attack people's faith... You will not succeed.

[b]You need to go and read your Bible well. You lack understanding of the Holy Book.

Do you know the meaning of Christmas Tree during Christmas
Do you know the meaning of Father Christmas during Christmas
Do you know the meaning of Candles used during Christmas

All these are part of pegan worship during the Constantine. You are doing this because you don't understand what it means. The devil has put it into your subconscious mind, and you believe its the right thing to do to glorify God. You keep defending this to justify your love for God.

You need to wise up and embrace the truth
Yea,even to blow balloons is pagan worship. undecided
The devil didn't put anything into your mind. You are indeed the anti-christ spoken of.

The Bible records that on the day of Pentecost 3,000 men were added onto the disciples of Christ. Can you mention just 100 of them by name. Or those ones are not early Christians because scriptures did not mention their name.

Don't be myopic brother.

My brother, they are the ones of whom it is said "the letter killeth". Modern day Pharisees and Sadducees, criticizing people who are worshipping Christ in spirit and in truth. No different from the ones who tried to stone the woman caught in adultery in their self-righteous indignation.

Oga Freeze's point is valid with respect to the question he asked, He is just being curious, looking at what played out in the BIBLE. Remember the BIBLE says the scripture is written for our examples and for us to learn from.
With respect to your QUESTION on Easter, Our dear LORD JESUS CHRIST specifically instructed us to celebrate his death...LUKE 22:19, 1st Corinthians11:23-26 and so on.

There must be a falling away first, then the end will come. The falling away started a very long time ago when strange doctrines started creeping into the faith. It's a fact that christmas and easter have pagan origins.
This is why I feel that many people will readily accept the "mark of the beast" because they won't expect it to be what it would be.
If you don't have any problem celebrating a pagan festival with christian coloration, you won't have any problem if tomorrow they pass a law that goes against the law of God.

I think it is you that should keep quiet. What he said and had been saying may not be the absolute truth, but they aren't far from the truth. Is it recorded in the Bible that you should celebrate Jesus' birthday? Give me one point in the scriptures that support what you are celebrating today. I'm sure you can't, because there is none.

You are so used to the status quo that you detest anyone that tells you anything different from that, even if your cherished status quo can't be proved by the scriptures.

Freeze is not attacking Christians. He's attacking doctrines in Christianity that have no basis in the scriptures. And this is what every true Christian should do, except if the scripture isn't your standard anymore.
if it is not written in the scriptures to celebrate Christmas is it written that it should not be celebrated? How often do you celebrate the Passover? Its a clear instruction from God for the Israelites. Read Numbers 9:2 and Exodus chapter 12. If He was not born on Dec 25, then when was he born? Provide the real day sir since u are the scholar! This is what the bible says

Romans 14:5,6
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Its a pagan celebration, how can it be a pagan celebration when you are referencing Christ? so if a day was earlier set aside for obatala worship and I decided to set that date for my church convention it means the convention is idolatry? Pls counter my claims based on my rebuttal

do this in remembrance of me... does not mean celebrate my death forever. Birthdays weren't something that was a tradition. Choosing a day to celebrate the birth is nothing wrong as long as it is practised with the right mind. Has God left the church because Christmas is praciced?

Christmas is not a pagan celebration .In your ignorance, you do not understand what it means to cleanse the old that the new may take over. That Christmas is celebrated on the day THAT USED to be a pagan day of celebration doesn't make the Christmas pagan celebration.
Do you know when Jesus died,He died with a body of sin?Yet He resurrected with a new body.
Will you say He still had sin in the resurrection since He died with the old body!

You people criticise what you have no understanding of.You have religion but no revelation.

He replied,go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.'"
Matt 26:18
Jesus celebrated feasts and festivals. It is not wrong to celebrate Him.

No one said feast and festivals are wrong. The man(Freeze) asked a question just answer? Let me rephrase it a bit. If the apostles who were more closer to Jesus than you would ever be didn't celebrate his birthday after his death, then why are you doing so? Its a simple question just answer it without all the unnecessary dramatics
