So in essence it is arbitration
Yeah. So can it really be called a court?

Anyhoo, I need some fluid in my system

In a secular society only the laws of the land reign supreme so I wonder why we would have a sharia court.Nigeria is a secular country so what is the need hope the judgments from a sharia court is not superior to that of a constitutional court.

Wrong! A lower court is part of the judiciary this is not a lower court. It is like a community having a head and people take their conflict to him/her. The decisions are not binding on anybody and you can even decide not to show up.

A lower court can have to arrested by the police if you refuse to show

Yeah I just got that, it is an arbitration platform.

The verdict is not binding as they have no constitutional powers
Good then.

If that is the reason why it was created and has no constitutional power then no problem.

Whether they have it in the U.K. Is not the problem as long as the judgments from these courts do not supercede the recognized constitutional courts of the land then no problem.

Alhamdulilah, It's eventually established in Ogun state, a Shari'ah court which Ogun State Muslims have been yearning for ages.

People living in Ogun state and environs can now seek redress or have their case adjudicated based on Qur'an and Sunnah by reputable Islamic Jurists.

The Shari'ah court is under the able leadership of Eminent, Reputable and Erudite Scholars like:
i. Shaykh Dr Khidri Mustafa - Grand Qadi
ii. Shaykh Abdu-r-Rasheed Mayeleke
iii. Dr Musa Afis and host of competent islamic Jurists is opened to all Muslims, male and female.

The Shariah Court handled cases on

1. Marital dispute
2. Imamship tussle
3. Organisational conflict
4. Child custodian and guardianship
5. Inheritance imbroglio and host of other disputes emanated as a result of being Muslims and in the course of practising our Deen.
How ll disputes between Muslims & non Muslims be resolved? Since non Muslims are not bounded by sharia law? I hope non Muslims won't be tried there cos it ll generate a cry that Sharia law is now in Southwest.

One day, I asked a Yoruba Muslim friend why Hausa/Fulanis refer to Yoruba Muslims as 2nd class Muslims?
He said cos they believe they owned the religion more & are more studious in Islamic studies than the Yorubas. (Yoruba Muslims)

I beg your pardon if you want the sharia law to be legally recognized in Nigeria it won't happen. You can gladly go to the countries that practice it.

It is not even binding on Muslims.

If as a Muslim you are sued before it, you can decide not to go and nothing will happen.

It has no powers

Let's listen and stop what you have no knowledge of, a devout Muslim must respect Shari'ah as those who reject it are like you people in categorisation

Learn to respect others.

Only by that can you be taken seriously. If I decide to reply you according to your question, I will end up dragging Muslims who are respectful too. So let me just ignore your attention seeking attempts

We keep celebrating mediocrity and misplaced priorities. As if having Sharia courts in the North is not enough, some still clamored for one in Ogun (according to the post). Of what use is it? how would it benefit an average Ogun State citizen?! Una no see better thing clamor for, not even more infrastructures. Sharia court lol. Nigeria isn't an Islamic Country, neither can you say Ogun is predominantly 'Muslim'.

I know fellow Muslims would come for my head ( Yes, I'm one), but I care less.

this is what they say at the beginning but later it ll rise to something uncontrollable. See sharia law in the North. In 2011, they said sharia law is not binding non Muslims in Northern Nigeria. Now in 2018, it's for everyone to obey.

Even the Sharia sef. If you are charged under Sharia and you appeal it in a secular court, the judgment mostly will be rescinded
