whenever i see pictures of girls back home, they look sooooooo heavily made up (especially the lipstick part) complete with eyeliners and what not? Its incredible. I thought make up was supposed to be subtle and to bring out the best in your facial features and not turn you into a totally unrecognizable fiend.

I don't think its Nigeria thing. What can you say of Isha Sesay of CNN. Frankly her heavy make up is quite disgusting to me. I know she is Sierraleonian.

make up is meant for ugly gurls. (To make dem look attractive)

natural beauty gurls don't go on make up! (dey only use it occasionally for additional beauty)

Make up means when someone fail to meet up with mates or absent. that's whyy we have make up test and eams. I guess Nigerian girls are not up to the task so they have to do make-ups always

make up makes every woman more beautiful. i am quite pretty but would not be found without my make up on! although moderation should be the watchword. another is to blend colours that suit your skin.

agree wit what u said apart from your first statement, i dont think it makes every woman more beautiful, there are some women out there who look better without make-up than with it on

I don't think it's a "naija girls" thing. It's an individual thing. Cos you would be amazed at the heavy make-up of some non-naija girls.
And I seriously keep wondering why some ladies wear heavy make-up.
I'm not a make-up girl, but for every time I wear one I just end up being self conscious! Always on the look out for a mirror; anything that will reflect my face!!
I just find it burdensome wearing make-up no matter how minimally applied. . .
