Hello Bro, Germany isnt bad at all. I can't complain tbh. It is also comparatively cheaper to come here to study rather than going to the US, Canada, UK or Australia, except of course if you get a scholarship to study in either of the other countries I mentioned. I wouldn't want to derail this awesome thread so please take a look at the German student visa thread here https://www.nairaland.com/3941544/general-german-student-visa-enquiries . It is a goldmine of information, and be rest assured that every possible question you might have have already been asked and answered therein.
Thanks a lot bro

Hello guys please I need your HELP on this situation. So A friend of mine fell out of status and has been dating this girl for 2years. Wants to get married but his driver's license, visa and i20 are expired. The only GOVT issued ID that he has valid is his Nigerian Passport, can he get a marriage license at the court with just that??

1) NO. I however, had to be registered (at least for a course) to process my Study permit and also stay on hall of residence (on campus accommodation)

2) It was hard bro. I depleted mt funds in like 2 weeks. i had like $350USD. I depend on 100$ every 2 weeks from naija until my brain (hunger grin) signaled to me i need a job

3) Yes, i will still be. i had a good gpa and i am a registered student

What i would have done differently: I would have registered to get my Study permit and Deregister right after it was issued. Apply to some less expensive college and probably study Nursing/Nursing Assistance (1 year prog) or learn Spanish/french/Japanese/Chinese While i put in my application for a graduate school. for the next academic session.

That would have saved me a lot of money
A 3rd class graduate in computer science but little knowledge in hardware and repairs will you advice he goes for 1 year nursing then proceed from there because the guy is suffering since no good grade could fetch him a job and family no helping matters. If he hustles the money to go, get his study permit and take it up from there. Thanks in anticipation

Hello BJ

To be brutally honest with you, going through this thread wasn't only helpful, the optimism and drive to pursue my goals was rekindled. Some of the stories shared only affirms that it won't be easy but, with the right and determined mindset, they are achievable.

My name is Ade and I recently completed the National Youth Service Programme. Tentatively,Nigeria isn't the right place to develop myself and unlike most Christians,I don't have enough faith to wait for that political change we have longed desired.

I studied Philosophy and finished with a CGPA of 3.75,working with the Nigeria police force was a deciding factor when I chose to study philosophy with the aim of taking a master degree in criminology and security studies to boost my cv. My brother,as it stands,I cannot work with the Nigeria police force for some personal reasons which I only realised very recently. Maybe in the nearest future, but for now,I can't.

Relocating to the United States is perhaps the dream of virtually every Nigerians. I finally came to the conclusion that I must leave Nigeria, tentatively though. If this must be achievable, what are the "right" steps to take.

Any channel deemed pragmatic is also acceptable. Every possible means no matter how rigorous is also acceptable.

@Adesquare.

Visiting or Tourism visa - B1 B2 is very difficult but not impossible to get. It is a non-immigrant visa class.
You are expected to get to the US with it and leave after some time.

Student visa -F1, though 'nothing is sure' in this life, if you package your application well and secure admission to a 'good' school; you stand a very good chance of clinching this visa.

It is also a Non-immigrant visa class but has a 2year validity and you can use the schooling opportunity to better your life here.

All other options are either too difficult or outrightly illegal.

Hello boss...you've been in the states for a while now... Please how's football over there??
I'm an amateur footballer and and 18 years of age... I'm considering coming to the states to play football... Probably for a semi pro team or an academy but dont know how to go about it.
I thought of applying for an f1 visa but I'll definitely be out of status because i might not go for classes and i don't want anything that will jeopardize my stay in the states or that will come back and haunt me later in the future...
Please do you have any advice for me??
Probably if there's any academy around that might want to invite me or something.
My flight fare and all is intact.
My plan is to enter usa in the rightest way and with my mind at rest ...Nothing else.
sorry if my question might be silly..
I just dont want to make any mistake..
Thanks in advance

Also, if you are in the course of Adjusting your status, DO NOT rush your application. Take your time to fill out the forms, gather supporting documents and submit your application. Maybe you are on a Visitor’s Visa and you do not want your legal stay to run out before submitting so that you won’t overstay, you need not worry about that. Once you are married to a USC, overstaying isn’t counted against you.

There is something called a 30/60 days rule (or maybe 90). It means that if your application was submitted within 30 and 60days (or 90) of entering the US on a non-immigrant visa, it can be denied based on Misrepresentation (which also goes with Intent I mentioned earlier)

Let's say, you came to the US on a Student visa and withing 2 months, you already submitting application for permanent resident, your Application can be Interpreted as Misrepresentation.

Nothing strange here, and no, the VOs rarely look at documents, they have said this severally on their thread. Have you been to the embassy of recent for a B1/B2 visa? They look at documents when it relates to medical or education. As for tourists, you further proof your funds and eligibility at POE if need be, and they depot and cancel the visa if not satisfied.
Basically, they analyse your home ties and decide to issue you or not based on the information you fill on your DS160 and also the interview.
And also, no, you can't appeal the decision of the American VO, you can only reapply.

US visa is 50% , the remaining 50% scrutiny is at the POE, unlike other countries that do background checks of documents and the visa process takes a very long time, and if okay , then las stress at POE.

Pls in d case of revoked visa at d port of entry, can d affected person reapply again and what are d chances of getting another visa approval?and how long can d person wait before d reapplying?Tnx very much

There are so many Amateur league (non profit, local organizers, no salary involved, just volunteering stuffs). you will have fun playing but might not make a lot of money. If you are really good though, the opportunities are there. you can work your way up from there. I will however encourage you to be legal to do that.

The thing is, if you are good, you will be popular, d girls wants you (popularity+girls= Trouble). so, maybe you should find a way to legalize your stay first, get a job while you do and play football for fun on your free time. You might be lucky

One does not just travel out because he is tired of Nigeria. you need a plan and money and no one can recommend a country for you to migrate. That has to be your destiny. Some people come to the US and failed miserably, some went to Ghana and made it. Some didn't even leave Nigeria and still doing amazingly. First, seek out your destiny.. Have a plan and goals, work towards them
