In the grand scheme of things, how many prospective students read these threads? If they aren’t deterred by clear immigration rules, neither will they listen to your epistles according to lamentations here.

The problem isn’t that the rules aren’t clear, it’s that we all think we are so special that God will come down and break rules for just us... I mean “our case is different” no?
As we speak.it is made known to all who wish to study in the UK now that U must go home.they do t even give you the slightest hope you will gain employment .

They all know.it is said at the interview and they swear to return after study . Evenn the OP did same but here we are!

Exactly my point. We all know that the basis for granting a non immigrant visa is the acknowledgment that we intend to return to our home country after the duration of the program. As you’ve rightly said, even the OP and his/her minions heard and agreed to the condition so who is fooling who with the crocodile tears now?

Oh please zip it both of you! Erico2k2! I am having a happy day and have zero tolerance for this!

All the people that left for Canada, Aus, US and Germany, didn’t they promise to return to Nigeria? Did they return?

You guys are so selfish. You’ve got your own lives set up in the UK and instead of helping your fellow youths make better decisions, you insist on advising them to burn 8M for just a degree. This is why we probably don’t need the youths leading Nigeria, you guys are so mean and don’t want any other person to progress other than yourselves!

You both have admitted the difficulty in getting jobs in the UK but are cool with people spending their inflated and undervalued naira on education. People are literally begging for food in Nigeria, they can’t afford 2 meals anymore and instead of commending the OP you are making noise!

One day, nobody will be there to advise you when you need suggestions for life dependent decisions! Nobody!

This is more evidence you simply respond without thinking. Nothing you attributed to me above is true... no surprise you wasted millions on an education without planning for tomorrow.

1. I don’t live in the UK. I made that abundantly clear yesterday.

2. At no point have I insisted that anyone waste money on an education anywhere. I’ve simply made the point that people take time to PLAN BEFORE embarking on any major endeavor. Research immigration laws (if your intention really is to immigrate), job market, your potential employer prospects, how your proposed school (and degree in view) stacks up with competitors with respect to your future employer, whether there is funding available (I always advocate never paying for school where scholarships and fellowships are available) etc.

Anyone who did the above (and it really doesn’t require rocket science) would never choose the UK as a study destination. You failed to do so, now you’re looking for a scapegoat to blame.

Too often many here are so focused on just “being abroad” that they do not stop to think through and formulate a workable plan that gives them the best return on investment. Crying after the fact is amusing to me.

If they can't afford two meals how can they afford N8 million to pay for school fees?

This post is about students that can afford studying in UK but with hope of working there when they are through so what brought about your saying they can't afford two meals?

The part about 2 meals is to stress how hard nigeria has become and why anyone that plans to leave doesn’t want to return until they are set up. It was (obviously) not meant to insinuate that people that can’t afford to eat can afford 8M.

It’s all about reading in between the lines. Is this clearer now? You’re welcome!

UK, Ireland and NZ. Best option so far. Infact.. I had advice any Doctor leaving Nigeria should aim for UK first, then while in UK register in Ireland. (Should Immigration Policy Change)

If you are not satisfied with the first two then you can start looking at NZ.

Plab 1 and 2 will get you license in UK.

UK experience is recognised in NZ.

Plab 1 will exempt you from Ireland PRES 2, All you need to sit is PRES 3 Clinical exam to obtain a license.

Plab 1 will qualify you to sit Nzrex clinical exam.

Canada is a no no. Even after passing exam. You will be wasting away. PR or no PR

To the topic:

UK is not a friendly place for students or immigrants at the moment. If they can get rid of EU, don't know why Nigerians still worry about a place not welcoming.

Unless you are totally uneducated, wear Hijab, can't speak English and would need interpreter. Then you can be rest assured your stay is guaranteed. Coming from war torn country is a bonus.

Even children of age 7 and above, who were born there, have lived there all their lives and have no ties to their parents country of origin still stand a chance to be removed if their parents have no legal status.

That's how brutal it is at the moment. Hopefully with time, they will have a well structured immigration system that is fair to everyone regardless of race, religion, or country of origin.

N. B. I won't be responding to any mention if your reasoning is lopsided or myopic.
Thanks for speaking the truth, though blunt. You've helped me make a critical decision.

As Nigerians, we don’t have the luxury of summarily deciding if we want to return to our country or not. That’s a choice made by the host nation. We can cry from now till next year. Next time, read the rules, plan.

Seems like no matter how they systematically create a blockade, strategically adopt cunning laws, overrule favorable laws (e.g post work visa) the message is not usually understood in its true meaning unless its explicitly worded or a letter handed saying that ''WE DONT WANT YOU HERE''. The UK is tiny. I imagine it's future it's if the immigration rate is not reduced. Also, the culture among Nigerians is that after they get the nationality of the EU country they live, they just move to the UK. Make una sef pity them na? Abi dem commit sin develop their country ni?

Sentiments apart, it's their country and they should run it as they wish. It's up to you to make favorable decisions and utilize your money. If you have money to study abroad, other EU countries are better. And you will get a Schengen visa that gives mobility to travel within the 26 countries, with a path to work and citizenship afterward. It doesn't have to be the UK. I can only imagine the fate of that tiny island if it is located in mainland Europe.

If not for ignorance of our people what is in UK? That miserable God forsaken place, with cold that can freeze lungs. You are lucky many Nigerians are not exposed if not they will know that where they live is much more habitable than the UK. This forum seems to attract low lifers for some reason, go to a more intellectual forum and try to give this impression that you've given I aaaure you that you won't like their response

Those who have experienced life are living here with valid UK visas and even passports, they've seen it all and know the truth

Hehehe

All those giving themselves high blood pressure because the UK, a sovereign nation that has the rights to decide who lives within its boundary, did not offer them permanent residence are amusing.

It is either that people are willfully ignorant of the law or they are driven by an unreal sense of entitlement. Simply put the sentiment being expressed by many here is this -

UK, I have spent N20 million naira on my education, therefore, you must grant me permanent residence and a job.

Furthermore, others here are in one way or the other implying that the universities offering admission to international students do so with deceit and cunning. They make the ludicrous assertion that UK schools hide the fact that international students, for the most part, are expected to leave the country after their education. These are the same people who accepted their admission based on the condition that they leave after studying.

The UK owes you nothing. You paid for and were given world-class education. Go and use that education to further yourself and your home country. Next time when you want to immigrate using the education route look elsewhere.

Lmaoooo.....

It's just amazing how everybody who thinks they writing against my original post have helped buttress my main point smiley

You are not entitled to anything in the UK (YES!)
Your education will NOT guarantee you a job in the UK!
The contract you signed states you have to leave after your education!
Do your research properly (READ READ READ)
Don't make the same mistakes some of us here have made (LEARN FROM US)
Look at alternative countries (YES PLEASE)
Giving your millions to the UK won't guarantee you anything (EXACTLY - who goes to school just to stay at home?)
You paid for an education only and that is what you get, stop complaining (VERY VALID)
etc....

Thank you so much all of you!
Nearly 37,000 views as at the time of this message.
I have definitely reached out to at least 1% of that number...

May all who stand against us CONTINUE to work in our favour in Jesus name, AMEN!!!

I didn't see this earlier.

This is false. The PR program in Japan works. And yes, you are required to learn the language. Why emigrate to another man's land and refuse to speak their language? Yes, Japan is expensive. However, compared to the UK, Japan is not expensive.

All these years in the UK and you still use words like "disrespectful" grin, pure Nigerian man- very oppressive in nature! I am sure it will pain you more to find out that I am way younger than you think that I am!

I can't have an intelligent convo with someone that's not on my IQ level, I'm way faster than all of you, if all you do is repeat exactly what I said a few pages back. Intelligent convos don't wear people out, but I'm quite worn out from trying to make you understand Basic English, as if na pikin I dey teach!

P.S: If I tell my hubby to zip it, he will straighten up immediately, cos he knows I don't snap easily. And if he tells me to leave grin, I will happily pack and go; with my qualifications I can live anywhere in the world. But he is a lovely man. You can join us for tea during the summer if you want!

UK is targeted by most of the EU and being member of EU they can't equal rights with the rest,it's an agreement they had.let's be reasonable guys south Africa gives opportunity to SADC nations than to others.work on your ECOWAS or quit it[/quote]

ECOWAS is where Nigeria should be taking the lead to develop herself and the subregion but it's impossible with the nature of humans governing us.
