This is going to be tough and costly, first you need to find out first if the airline will allow you to fly with a baby that young.

Secondly you need to make an arrangement for a nanny from day one because you will need those documents for visa application.

Its going to be difficult for you to combine PhD program with looking after a few weeks old baby.

Please think carefully about this

Justwise and other house guru.....Please help me tackle my query above

Hello house, please I need an advice from the house Gurus, I started my Msc programme this February in a UK university under a scholarship from a Nigerian government body. Fortunately someone I met here in the UK connected me with his friend working with an organisation that practices exactly my field of study. The person ask me to mail him my personal details and my CV, which I did. Afterwards, he mailed me today thanking me for my prompt response and asking to know the below information

If my Msc programme allow for time off-campus, say duration 6 weeks starting within the next few weeks? Would there be a conflict of interest in regards to compulsory classes, exams, deadlines, etc.?

my answers to the above will inform his decision. Also, being on a tier 4 visa with 20hrs/week work allowance.....how do I answer and go about it.

..........Of course my answer will be in the affirmative, just want to know how to answer his question intelligently.

You need an express permission from your university to take up such offer else it will affect your studies and your immigration status

Dont you think telling the university will put me on the spotlight and jeopardise my chances?............Can't I run the stuff codedly with the help of a course-mate who might be giving me updates on happenings for the duration of my absence?

thanks

The program is not part of your course and your attendance matters a lot.

Your school will waste no time reporting to Homeoffice if keep missing lectures.

The choice is yours.

You will have to leave the UK to apply for any tier 1. Switching to Tier 2 is an exception though

I dont even think you should go for the training in the first place, talkless of informing your university or lying that you grandad needs care.

The highest amount of break during a master's is 3 weeks. so you can't even do the training during your break. (Remember that its only during your breaks you are allowed to work more than 20 hours). Ask the helper whether the 6-weeks training can be during your dissertation time, then rush and finish your dissy. Because, if you inform the school that you want to go for a work training, they will happily withdraw their study sponsorship, since its obvious you prefer a work sponsorship. If you lie to your school and don't leave the UK to Nigeria, you will have to explain to the UKVI why you need an extension to finish the course that you were meant to finish 2 months earlier, and you will need to show them proof of your flight out of the UK.

And if you stop attending lectures, lol, this might be the worst. One time that I supposedly missed a class, I know how i was drilled to explain my whereabouts at Student Affairs. The man was ready to report me to the Home Office sef, even with pleas that I couldn't have missed the class, seeing as I was the classrep. It wasn't until I remembered that it was an online class that they freed me- I almost cried that day.

So, think well.

Some time ago wasn't 2018 where they will actually investigate the lies!

Wasn't it in 2016 that they stopped internal visa extensions? Now, they ask people to leave the country to apply for a visa extension. If he takes 2 months off for the training or job, wouldn't he need 2 more months to finish his course? how will he apply for the extra months if he doesn't leave the UK and apply with proof of exit and entry on his passport, matching the fact that he apparently left to take care of the grandad?

Please, let's reduce fraudulent acts please.

For those geo courses, look towards scotland (Aberdeen) side. As for cheap Universities, sorry my dear, you are checking the wrong country. The cheapest school (Derby) is 5 million for tuition alone and I highly doubt it offers a geo course.

Please does anybody know anything about OFQUAL and ATHE qualifications?
I intend to do some online diploma programs from the UK just for knowledge sake and I keep seeing these bodies as the regulatory bodies.

You are working has a banker and you want to further your study in UK master level..well your chance of work is 1% if you need sponsor and seriouly have you not read some other post about this working after school bullshit. Please find alternative where you can work after graduation maybe your Nigeria job slot will be waiting for you when you come back.

Think twice lot of people still have this misconpetion of working in UK when only 1-2% get the work. Please find another country where you can actually work UK work is saturated.

ATTENTION UK PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Kindly visit the thread/link below, if you are considering studying in the UK for your Bachelor's, Master's or PhD (if you are self sponsored)

https://www.nairaland.com/4361854/nigerians-leave-uk-united-kingdom

Also, bear in mind that the UK rules might change in your favour, and the Home Office my reduce the difficulty of sponsoring foreign workers (due to Brexit) but until then, hear from previous students' experiences. You are most welcome!

Those universities are all very good but find out first about their business school ranking, business schools in the UK are ranked differently compare to other courses. With certificate from any of those universities you have an advantage in job market but do your research first.
