ABUJA- FOLLOWING President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to assent to the new amendment to the Electoral Act, which seeks to re-order the sequence of the polls during general elections, strong indications emerged yesterday that Senators have begun moves to override his veto. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/03/election-re-ordering-senators-commence-moves-to-override-buharis-veto/ 3 Likes 1 Share

Nigerians! As much as I hate PMB style of leadership, the National Assembly also have their own shortfalls. How can we continue to sink N150B on just 469 individuals for a country of over 180million citizens? Left to me alone, I'd say let's address all the problems in 2019 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Comedy of errors Senators that are pushing for death penalty for hate speech but feeling unconcerned about the bane of the Nigerian society. Endemic corruption at all phases of the Nigerian society 5 Likes |

dignity33: Please be informed: budgetary allocation is not spent money. It's a plan, which may or may not be executed. Back to topic: I think that the quest to remove PMB isn't a good one per se because Nigeria needs a president from the south to restructure the country. A Nigerian president of northern extraction can never restructure this country. And getting someone else from the north to lead this country means elongating their stay in power. With present Nigeria's structure even Obama will fail here. All we need is restructuring and attitude change to fix this country 12 Likes 1 Share |

Predictable. It's a game of chess. 2019 loading. The Senate will win this, because their own interest is in the offing. If Buhari wins according to existing inec law, many senators and hor members are not comng back. Baba will do everything to frustrate his 'enemies', and most senators will be the worse for it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

God bless the 8th Senate! This move is done in the Interest of the masses. The senate are not voted to please the executives but to please the masses via extension who they represent. I know how we put pressure on our senator to make sure he is one of those that makes two-third needed to veto the president on this democratic bill. I shall continue to thank the leadership of the senate! His Excellency Bukola saraki for leading a Senate that is out to strengthen our democracy via using their constitutional rights to effect necessary laws for our country to move forward. Next up shall be the peace Corp bill. Hip hip hip! hurray!!!!! 11 Likes 1 Share |

APC is such a useless and unserious party. I mean, how can senators be working against their own party's interest? That is so dumb. What is Oyegun the chairman doing that he can't mediate between the presidency and the national assembly members of his party? Such a clueless party doesn't deserve to be in power. 6 Likes |
