These days I don't see peeps wailing over lukakus poor first touch, dribbles, feints or assists like before? The guys improvement this season can't be down to just lukaku can it? Even while playing under mr defence?

To to honest I share in the sentiments of Mourinho, a lot of our players are scared of receiving the ball especially in tight spaces...It's not just about forming activity when no one is close to you, it's what you do when you're in crowded zones that matter, your movement, spatial awareness when you're given the ball etc.
Lingard, Valencia, Smalling, McTonimay, Young etc have to improve in this regard.
This is where Mata, Martial, Sanchez (he has not shown enough in our colors), Pogba, Matic, Shaw and lately Lukaku have an edge.
Yesterday, that move between Mata and Martial that almost led to a goal for Mata is just what we need often, unfortunately a lot of our players aren't quick thinkers with and without the ball.

Someone like Scott played the worst match since he played in the first team. But he is a Manchester United player for sure, because he is a player that made mistakes and missed so many passes but has big personality. Instead of criticizing, I was positive with him. You played very bad but you did the basic things and kept emotional balance. He was not afraid to play.


As for the defence It was really important the two full-backs were aggressive and I didn't have that with Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia. I didn't change both of them because then I would have only one more substitution. But to try to change our offensive football and be more aggressive, I had to change one of them and I decided Luke. At least Antonio was capable of some good positioning. Every time they went in Luke's corridor the cross was coming in. I was not happy with his performance."

The quick thinkers that mourinho needs are already at the club but their age and inexperience is mitigating against them!

The season is almost over so why not just throw gomes and Chong into that forward line and prepare them for next season? Why register them for europe and allow them train with the first team and then end up not still playing them? Is 18 really that young in football these days?

Personally, I feel we need to use our flanks. Whip in low crosses, cut in and shoot and so on. This has been missing in our games, and it's a nightmare to defenders.

I don't know if what Mourinho is doing is right. He is publicly beating the players. His is unable to take blame for the UCL exit. Mourinho doesn't seem to encourage or motivate Luke Shaw. He will never say bad things like this about Fellaini, Bailly, Pogba and Lukaku.

But may be it is time to buy more defenders, particularly for the full back positions. Valencia is either over used already this season or is regressing. He seems to have lost his superb pace. We should however avoid another situation of buying a defender that Valencia and Young would bench when next season starts.

I fancy my chances against spurs without Kane in the semis than Spurs with Kane in the final.
