I had more female friends growing up. I had male friends, and many acquaintances. Most guys were able banter, babes' gist etc. But often gist with girls were more meaningful. I learnt to listen better. I also found it easier to be frank with ladies than most guys, who just say what they think a girl wants to hear. Till today.

Another advantage of being comfortable with girls from an early age is that you learn not to see everything with girls from a "sexual" perspective.

Many out there still believe that a girl cannot have a genuine/harmless male friend. That sex or maneuvering to get sex must be involved. This attitude led to not keeping close friendship with female friends once they married. Because most hubbies are uncomfortable with it.
