I disagree, he has been average at his standard, if you look at Messi the same way you see Salah, he has had a wonderful season but Messi has set the standard so high that if he scores 6 goals in Europe, it is average or poor, hence why he always comes out in BDR every year because the judges keep the playing field leveled but if you judge Messi with his high standard every year even when he falls short in it, he won't even be nominated at all, less than average, I disagree, less than average by his standards I agree

Nice idea. So you mean he should play the same tactics that C. Ronaldo is using, by conserving his energy, in being absent in most league and cup games and reserve all his energy for the big price i.e. UCL., and not getting burnout towards the end of the season after single handedly carrying the team.

But then, if you've observed Messi, you'll know he cannot pretend on the pitch, if he's tired, he is tired, if he's weak, he's weak.

Its just a pity that we use him exhaustively ever since Neymar departed. He cannot rest even when he needs it because we always rely on him, without him the team becomes just a pack of deadbeats.

I just hope things change next season when we we have players like Coutinho, Dembele and hopefully Griezman firing with all cylinders.
