Governor Shettima Orders Bet9ja, Nairabet Agents To Leave Borno State by Alphasoar(m): 1:21pm On May 24, 2018
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima yesterday said the state government will take proactive measures in addressing the adverse effects of online gambling as well as drug and substance abuse among others.
Shettima stated this while speaking at the 14th Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by Borno Radio Television Corporation in Maiduguri on Sunday.

“I have given directives to all Bet-Naija and Nairabet agents in the state to leave immediately. Drug and substance abuse gives birth to all immoral vices hence government’s determination to fight all forms of social vices,” Shettima vowed.

The governor enjoined Muslims to unite for the common cause of salvaging the state.

Dr. Umar Alkali, in his lecture titled “Education for Girl Child and responsibility of Muslims” implored Muslims to invest in the education of orphans and vulnerable ones for future prosperity.

But when you collect allocations from Abuja, do you know that those Betnaija and Nairabet people pay tax which you use to feed your people?

Someone should please drag these people back to school.

But you will be collecting federal allocation where bet9ja is paying taxes

They should just restructure this country so that you live the way you want and bare full consequences of your actions

Honestly speaking we southerners need to realise we have to leave whatever has happened in the past between us and forge a united front in the push to either dismantle this country or restructure it.
Imagine this useless man will collect allocation from money generated on betting shops in the south o.
Nonsense

This guy is a joker! Does he even have the right to do this? Nigerians have freedom of association and freedom of movement. How dare you tell someone who is doing a LEGAL business to leave your state? Sports betting is duly registered and regulated by a Nigerian gaming commission; I am sure a lot of people from Borno are working in such Commission and the dullard governor recieves allocation from taxes paid to the FG by these betting companies.

FG should start excluding Taxes generated from alcohol and sports betting from these sharia states.

I don't agree with the governor. But betting sites do not benefit the poor. It makes them poorer.

Misplaced priorities.
Instead of tacking the menace ravaging your state you have become so petty to battle with issues that are struggling to have significance to the myriad of problems bedeviling your State and Nation.

Internet ? Will you place a 'ban' on that too?

Someone also requested that alcoholics and allied products be banned in his domain but blatantly ignored directing the FG to subtract what is accruable from it from their various state allocations. Please.

Who do we hold responsible for such ?
Leaders or followers?

That is a very wrong move because its going to increase unemployment rate in that state and we all know what that can lead to...
