I support the Governor on this, if you go to the SE all ipob members see this gambling as their means of survival.

They refuse to work or go to school and focus daily on bet9ja, nairabet.

No wonder Ipob youths are lazy.

God bless this governor richly

This guy is a joker! Does he even have the right to do this? Nigerians have freedom of association and freedom of movement. How dare you tell someone who is doing a LEGAL business to leave your state? Sports betting is duly registered and regulated by Nigerian Gaming Commission; I am sure a lot of people from Borno are working in the Nigerian Gaming Commission and the dullard governor recieves allocation from taxes paid to the FG by these betting companies.

FG should start excluding Taxes generated from alcohol and sports betting from these sharia states.
if Nigeria practised fiscal federalism he can can do such with back up of course from the borno legislature..but you don see as naija federalism be na

Awesome! Good one. God bless him.
That betting ish is badly affecting alot of young minds. Derailing them. Sadly, high school students are now patronising them. Betnja is distraction. Young people need better opportunity not betting organisations.

But when you collect allocations from Abuja, do you know that those Betnaija and Nairabet people pay tax which you use to feed your people?

Someone should please drag these people back to school.

Is he really against gambling or against the owners of the shops? Well, if the former is the case, he should also look for ways to stop people from playing bet9ja on their phones too.

Dude has no point mehn.

Your comment is dumb. Dont d Bible, Quran, Ancestors tell us that gambling is bad? Before d advent of these online gambling sites, weren't they feeding their people? And has these gambling sites eradicate anything?

I'm a Muslim and my religion is against betting. But what he did is crap. Betting is absolutely legal in Nigeria. All these Sharia law would only work in a country with an ovewhelming Muslim population. Now there is a ban on alcohol or establishing breweries yet opoids and hard drugs are prevalent in these Sharia states. That codiene documentary was almost entirely referring to northern youths. How has the ban helped now?

Gambling is addictive alright but you don't pull stunts like this in a democratic setting.

But they share from taxes accrued from betting companies. Something is wrong is wrong with these people, same way they benefit from taxes realized from sales of alcohol down South but they destroy these goods in their domain.
