I can beat my chest and say the only thing that will make Etebo miss worldcup is injury. Quote me when the 23man list is out..

I believe so too but there is always a chance because he has not played recent games.

By the way, why do we need to take Simon to the world cup when Simmy is there and gives us more option in the attack.....Etebor, Simon and Agu should be dropped
Etebo should not be dropped biko. Apart from Ndidi in that our midfield, he is the only other midfielder that can give lung bustling runs in attacking and defending. He is greatly needed.

So you only chose to reply this one huh? After schooling you on your lies on K.Nwakali not being ever named among the top 100 teens ba? I told you he made Marca's Top 50 in 2017 but ofcos you stylishly and shamefully will not quote that one ehn? cheesy

Everything you have spilled... And I mean everything you have reeled out on that kid is a lie. You always try to sound right but mister, YOU ARE WRONG. Your views on our Nigerian youth grade graduates are almost always in the negative. It stinks and I will have none of it flying around without some counters.

Me calling you liar is based on so many things mister "Southgate" like your lies on K.Nwakali and your deceitfully cunning way of stating half truths and running with silly selective analyses.
All season Kayode also had a poor goal return and you refuse to call that poor... But with Nacho... You are quick to say Poor... Is that not the height of hypocrisy and selective analysis? This rubbish of yours better be curtailed mister because I know exactly who you are and what you do. I did my homework man but i respect people's privacy. Just stick to what you know and stop polluting the thread with your half truths syndrome. It stinks so bad honestly.

And yes on this league rating... You lied! I recall your use of Europe big five and also Europe's top seven many aeons ago on this thread. When we talk Europe's Big Seven... There is no Ukraine. There is huge difference between 7 and 8... And it is 1. 1 is the different between failure and pass in secondary schools man... Just one mark or one thing or one decision can decide a man's fate. So ONE is very huge. Deal with it. cheesy

And I repeat... Kayode does not merit a place on the final list of 30 above Ighalo, Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa, Simon Moses, Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses and Simy Nwankwo. All these guys did it in bigger leagues than Kayode and against high quality oppositions.

Ofcos China is not bigger than Ukraine... but we know who Ighalo is to the team. The team's top no.9 and has done his thing in the EPL and most importantly... he is still on song in China... Also Simon Moses is in Belgium which is below Ukraine but he earns his place as he is a winger and has proven himself in the GWG.. kayode is a 9 and yes... he has not been given enough games to show his stuff in the GWG but this is because of other forwards ahead of him... his time will come. Patience is key.

All (ofcos Chinese league is not done yet) finished their seasons very strong.

All except Simy have proven themselves in the GWG and are all way ahead of Kayode in the national team set up...

Simy edged Kayode simply because he brings something different with his height plus style of play and also because he was doing the deed and finished strongly in the Serie A unlike Kayode who also finished very strongly but was doing it in Ukraine.

Serie A >>>>> Ukraine. You cannot compare the quality of both leagues.

What about Ebere Paul Onuachu who outscored all Nigerian forwards in Europe? Why wasn't he picked or called up? No one is talking about him... But why should we? He is in Denmark... Kayode's Ukraine is even way way way ahead of the Danish League.

All these things have to do with "IMPACT FACTORS"... Every league has an impact factor... If I am able to score 10 goals with 11 assists and put in some strong performances in the danish league... There is no way it can be compared to the impact factor of another who scored 5 goals with 5 assists in the LA liga..... Impact factor is the key and this is why Kayode does not edge anyone on that list

Rohr picked Simy and justifiably so because he has already seen Kayode a couple of times in training and believes in Simy he can see something different... If Simy fails...then that is his f**king cup of tea.

He only would have edged out Lokosa but unfortunately Lokosa on the local front was doing things even better than what Stephen Odey was doing last season in the NPFL. Rohr and his crew just had to recognise the man, Junior Lokosa because his stats for a forward on the local front was staggering. Ofcos in terms of impact factors... Kayode's 3 goals edges... But fact is... Lokosa is based in Nigeria and the issue of giving the local players a chance with the team is always constant. Lokosa would never have been called up had his goal stats not been way up there in the NPFL (18goals in 21 games before his invite). This is why Lokosa had to be included... For the local front's sake. But the others in the forward positions all edged out Kayode on pure merit.

This is why I find your stance on insisting Kayode deserves a chance in the list of 30 very very funny considering his goals return all season.

Forgiveness, when trying to give us a breakdown of some of the forwards' stats all season in all comps... He did something very very funny... (egbon forgiveness... You know it because I caught you...) grin

Forgiveness gave us Kayode's goals stats for only his time at Shahktar ( a half season stats)

Then he dropped goals stats for Nacho and Simy for the entire season... and wanted is to do comparison... That is utterly unfair analysis.

See... You and Forgiveness agree on a lot of things and ofcos I know why..... But at least... Try to be holistically balanced in your analyses... Coz it irritates me so much to see so many half truths flying around here. It annoys me.

We won't build the best Super Eagles based on half truths. We will build it based on full and very balanced truths.

I personally don't want Kayode in Ukraine... I want him in a top 5 league. I hope Ukraine can only launch him into a top five league. I have followed that lad from 2009 U-17s where he wore the No.10 shirt as a very lively striker. Ajagun wore no.9 but was a midfielder.

Both players caught my eyes and I have been excited about them even more than I was about Onazi. Onazi was not even a prominent feature in that 2009 team. He was mostly benched.

I have a dream of a Really Super, Super Eagles side and want the best in every position lined up for us from the regulars to the bench to the fringes and to the prospects. I Dont f**king care what a player is called or where he is from so long as he can ball and has those footballing qualities, skills and attributes to make us really great.

This is part of why I don't appreciate when some of us here take the dirty path of rubbishing another player to promote another. Egbon Forgiveness, forgive me... But you do that a lot without knowing it. I understand your passion as well... But you really must learn and try to apply calm and balanced analytical approaches to things like this.

When you clamoured for Bryan Idowu, And even brought up Tyrone Ebuehi... I did my homework and found out that indeed we have quality prospects in those two... And here they are in the team. So relax... Those two are just two of several you spoke about... I remember also mentioning a few from time to time from way back... Sir Tbaba1234 also will spot some and mention... and we all will begin following. So far so good... Some are in... But some are still yet to get a chance... But time is still coming.

I know you want to see the best of The Super Eagles but you must stop the mentality of rubbishing some players who are actually quality because of those you feel and you passionately desire to have on the team. I understand we all have favorites and it is okay... But for me... You as a player become among my favorites when I see what your abilities, traits and footballing attributes bring to the Super Eagles for the present and for the long run too.

For example, I love Isaac Success so much that I spoke out against how Komekn called him a waste man... But when the 30-man list was released... And some on twitter were cursing Rohr for not including Success... I laughed and said they are on drugs. because I know the truth.
But guess what... I still believe in Isaac Success' talents... I call him the beast and I hope he can get his acts together and rise up to fulfill his huge potentials.

Let this half truths nonsense stop. If we must analyse. We must do it ly and holistically and not comparing one's half season stats with another 's full season stats.

And we must be ready to use same indices of arguments and ratings for all our players... Not today Komekn says A when judging Iheanacho and will switch to B when judging Tammy Abraham... It is so so funny and amateurish... And we must accept that some leagues are just way bigger than others. Impact factor counts a lot. This is why even after K.Nwakali's outstanding showing against Atletico... I have been against anyone bringing up talk of his calls to the Super Eagles for Russia. Ofcos Rohr won't even do it even if we all say he should ne called up... But I had to take the right stand and say... "Let the boy grow... His time will still come but he has shown us he is indeed one for the future."

This is World cup Season... We must want the best for this team and stop polluting this thread with wrong perspectives on our players or running with half truths... This is the time for Truth to be spilled in its fullness.

No selective analysis biko. Thank you.

You are being carried away and open to public ridicule with your Negative prejudice and bias.

Ukraine sits at No.8 in Europe that's just a slight misrepresentation and mistake. This is what you hinge your derogatory deduction of LIAR upon. That's dissaponting I actually expected more from you. Descending to the level of abuse and insult really should not be the way you prove your point.

You further make w claim of change of perspective with regard to KC I'm not sure what you mean. But it's definitely in the negative.

My opinion remains the same an excellent player who has had a poor season whatever the excuses you present for him. 21 EPL games and 3 goals for a £25 million forward player or if you like striker, is a very poor return.

Finally can you stop the abuse it's TOTALLY UNCALLED for.

Exactly and it is so unfair to the team. So unfair. Every player not called up is now the best player when something goes wrong.

If we fail... You start hearing stuffs like why wasn't Samuel Kalu called up? He is better than musa bla bla bla... Of what about Olayinka? He would have done more than this or that...

This is so typical and some are already gearing up for such. I pray this team succeeds. Not because I won't have to stand the naysayers but because Nigerian football needs it for our efforts made so far at bouncing back after a dark period that covered us between 2015-2017 when we failed to make it to two Afcons. But more importantly so that this can be a fine foundation to build our rising new generation upon. They have worked so hard... I hope they reap good in Russia.

tbaba1234:
Gernot Rohr on the call for Nwakali:

“You cannot say that we should take some players after the holiday match against Atletico. They came with a second team and the plan was to see them for the future. I have no regrets with my selection.

“My real regret is that people talk about players not on the list than those on the list. This is not fair as we have many interesting players on that team as well”

How Super Eagles Team A, B & C Lined Up In Training; Aina & Idowu Score Beauties

Four players Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and William Troost-Ekong did not take part in Friday's practice match during the Super Eagles workout at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as a result of fitness concerns and fatigue.

After the usual stretching and jogging exercises, Rohr split the squad into three groups for games on a reduced sized pitch.

Team A had goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, John Obi Mikel, Joel Obi, Brian Idowu, Abdullahi Shehu, Chidozie Awaziem, Kenneth Omeruo and Oghenekaro Etebo.

The outfielders for Team B were Kelechi Iheanacho, Junior Lokosa, Ahmed Musa, Ola Aina, Stephen Eze, Tyronne Ebuehi and Uche Ugbo with Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal.

Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, John Ogu, Leon Balogun, Elderson Echiejile, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, Mikel Agu, Alex Iwobi and Eddy Onazi played for Team C.

The goalkeepers were largely moved around teams as the matches progressed and Plateau United's Dele Ajiboye later subbed in for Ezenwa.

The first match was between Team A and B with Team A winning 4-1 and Idowu scoring two goals in almost a similar fashion to his goal on his debut against Argentina. The goals were fierce left-footed shots.

Next up was Team B against Team C, a game won by Team C but the highlight was Chelsea defender Aina scoring with a powerful shot.

Team A and Team C met in the final practice match.

Team A that contained Francis Uzoho, John Obi Mikel, Joel Obi, Brian Idowu, Abdullahi Shehu, Chidozie Awaziem, Kenneth Omeruo and Oghenekaro Etebo were the winning side in the practice game in the Super Eagles workout on Friday morning after beating Team C in the final, allnigeriasoccer.com is reporting.
And they won largely due to the outstanding performance of Mikel, Joel Obi and Etebo, the trio had such a fine combination of play.
Another highlight of the game was the class of the former Chelsea midfielder whose years of experience and passing abilities shone like stars in the night.
Also of note was Mikel's ability to move and collect passes in space.
Las Palmas's Oghenekaro Etebo and Torino's Joel Obi pressured the opponents when they were with the ball and displayed their shooting skills.

The Super Eagles will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 26 for the friendly match against Democratic Republic of Congo next Monday.

Iheanacho and Puel no get talk again. Iheanacho has shown Puel what he wants to see.

Kayode has not show one thing.

Onyekuru was given cameo against Algeria and he showed more promise than Kayode. Onyekuru should have been invited, NOT Kayode. The only thing Kayode successfully proved in all his invites is that he can dance.

Nwakaeme was also not given enough opportunities. From today, I will stink up this thread with how Nwakaeme and Onyekuru deserved a call up. I hope you enjoy it and support me as much as you enjoy the Kayode talk.

Kayode was not given opportunities indeed. Go and tell that to all the guys on the streets who are 1000x better than Kayode but never even got to play ball.

Una never hear the saying "Opportunity Comes But Once"

In the first match match Kayode made his debut, he made an instance impact by proving an assist as an SS that recused us the first defeat as seen on that video.

This is the review he got in his second match against Togo which Onyekuru's debut for the Super .

Olarewaju Kayode – Showed his quick pair of heels and abilities to get past his markers. Loves to defend as well, and always looking to play forward passes to help maintain the team momentum going forward….. 6/10

Henry Onyekuru – Got involved when he came on but didn’t get into goal scoring positions unlike the previous game against Corsica. Still showed glimpses of his potentials with good link up play and neat passes…… 5/10

http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/06/02/nigeria-3-0-togo-players-ratings-iwobi-motm-despite-brace-from-leicester-city-musa/

His third match was against South Africa.

Olanrewaju Kayode: Came on for the disappointing Iheanacho and just like Musa, troubled the South African back line. Has a strong case for a starting spot in subsequent games (5/10).

https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/average-super-eagles-players-rated-vs-south-africa/amp/

Olarewaju Kayode – Lively for the duration he spent on the pitch. Used his pace to trouble the defence of South Africa but came on at a time when Nigeria were struggling to get going…..2/10

http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/06/10/nigeria-0-2-south-africa-players-ratings-akpeyi-iwobi-onazi-top-flops-ndidi-disappoints/

Olarenwaju Kayode 5/10

Thrown in when Eagles needed goals desperately. A player of boundless energy, he used that to good effect as he got into decent goal scoring positions. He was menacing as the point man and caused a few problems.

http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=23378

However, Onyekuru's debut was against Corsica a non official match and this is his ratings.

Henry Onyekuru – Looked lost and tensed. Missed a sitter which could have drawn Nigeria level shortly after they went behind. Took up goal scoring positions but wasn’t clinical enough to convert them. Presently highly sort after by top clubs in Europe after his 24 goals haul for Eupen, Onyekuru had a debut he won’t want to remember in a hurry….. 6/10

Yea he's that good going forward, kinda Pique-esque. Me come surprise when u and others dey say make dem drop am oo just bkus of Dat Serbian match.

I still don't think his best position is the back line. I want him to be groomed near the defence and attack.

I understand that Uche Agbo and Etebo have been outstanding in training. Agbo wants to give Rohr a big headache.

Agbo did well this season in Belgium.

Gernot Rohr on Uche Agbo

“Uche Agbo didn’t play in the qualifiers because we have many competition in that position. He is always with the team because he had a good season with his club Standard Liege”,

Is this not what I just said?

Thanks Goodness. And in working on them, he should once and for all sort out who and who does Set piece duties. Abeg.

We need to work on corners too and creating chances from indirect freekicks thru aerial routes (I have been saying it since last year... We have tall guys like Ndidi, Ekong, Balogun, Ogu who can all get forward for corners or freekicks- indirect- and try get on the end of some). We gotta make our team able to hurt opponents in several ways and that way we increase our chances of getting goals no matter how tight things get.

Rohr: “When the final 23 is picked, we will work on set pieces. We have not had enough time so far.

I must use this post to point out that to Egbon Forgiveness' credits, he came out boldly and said Awaziem is a good set piece taker. Of course several of us were taken aback and were like... Hey stop that joke... But as we can see, it is true. At Nantes, he indeed showed his stuff from set pieces a few times and it is one of such games that made Forgiveness make the comment.

He looked at Awaziem's game and picked out an attribute that even me of all people was yet to point out in Awaziem. Now that is some good eye I must confess. This is why I and Forgiveness get along much better now... When we argue or disagree on foot all matters, it is fun now for me because the truth is I understand him much better now. I only want him to do me a favor. To kindly try and please try to not rubbish or put down another player when talking about a certain player. I call for balance even in direct comparisons. Egbon Forgiveness do take care.... I won't be around a while. My hello to your family .... Tell them "you know who" says hi... wink

And Sir Chriskels.... Biko keep dropping any juicy news you will get or stumble upon as regards our players of all grades. That Samuel Chukwueze news you drop still dey sweet my belle. We need more of that.

Take care too Man. smiley

ChrisKels:
Awaziem proving to be the best deadballist in camp with his ability to bend the ball either ways with top notch accuracy Dat gives the keepers big headaches. It is no surprise bkus he did it several times for Nantes this past season.

It's a plus
