This Croatian team is concentrating 100% of their attention on Nigeria. I won't be surprised if they have someone sleeping at the Super Eagles camp sef. Are they forgetting that they can beat us and still NOT qualify? Are they forgetting that they lost to Iceland in the Euro qualifiers?? And would lose to them again in Russia if they don't pay attention!

This their obsession with Nigeria is becoming a little annoying sad

Croatia Scout: Rohr Has Doubts About Super Eagles GKs & Fullbacks

Published: June 01, 2018

Croatia National Team scout Ognjen Vukojević has revealed that Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has doubts about his goalkeepers and fullbacks ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Everyone can predict that the likes of Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Obi Mikel, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi and Eddy Onazi are the likely starters against Croatia on June 16 but there is uncertainty regarding the fullback positions and the goalkeeper, though Francis Uzoho looks to be ahead in the pecking order.

''It is visible that Rohr has several other dilemmas, that he is not sure who will be his goalkeeper, who will play on the two sides positions,'' Vukojević told Sportske Novosti.

''But I will not get into deeper analysis. We will of course now everything there is to know about Nigeria. Firstly, I will tell everything to our coach. He will have all the information.''

Abdullahi Shehu, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina and even Kenneth Omeruo are competing for the Super Eagles right-back spot, while Elderson Echiejile, Brian Idowu and the former England U19 skipper have been deployed at left-back in recent training sessions.

Rohr must announce his final roster for the World Cup by June 4, 2018.

Ikeme Devastated To Miss Out On Super Eagles’ World Cup Action
June 1, 2018 4:16 pm

Nigeria goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, is devastated that he won’t be part of the Super Eagles’ squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia as he continues to battle with acute leukaemia, but he wishes the team good luck in the tournament, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ikeme, 31, played a part in the three-time African champions qualification for Russia 2018.

He featured in the first three games against Swaziland (home and away) and Zambia but his involvement was cut short after he he was diagnosed with the ailment after returning abnormal blood tests during a routine pre-season check-up.

It was recently announced that he has been handed an honorary place in Nigeria’s World Cup squad as he will be the 24th man in the squad.

But the Wolves goalie is disappointed he won’t be on the pitch in Russia.

“To say I’m devastated about missing the World Cup is a understatement. But I just want to thank everyone in for there prayers, love and messages. I can’t explain how much they mean to me❤️ I also want to wish my teammates, coaches and NFF luck for the summer coming ❤️,” Ikeme tweeted on Friday.

He made his debut for Nigeria in 2015 against Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifying match, and has been capped 10 times.

But for some reasons, they don't have England vs Nigeria anywhere on TV. I find that strange.

No point. Aina had his chances.

I prefer Rohr starts our Starting 11. Rohr should be almost done with his experiments by now. Time to gel the starters together. No much time again.

Generally, we have defended quite well in the last few friendlies but we have struggled with making the transition from defence to attack. That is the first improvement i want to see. I also want to see better midfield control.

A narrow win, a draw or even a narrow loss is ok as long as the improvements are obvious. Beating England in Wembley will be hard. Southgate has made them more defensively sound. I expect the team to play with a lot of determination because we will be put under pressure especially if we manage to score first.

I do not necessarily want us to trounce England because i do not want the players to get carried away. It is still a friendly. A narrow win will serve a good confidence boosting purpose.

Your 1st paragraph is a very valid observation.
Hopefully with Mikel playing behind the forwards in the AM role we'll see a better transition today.

I also expect us to be more on the back foot for most of the game.
And so the mental strength of our defense would be tested today. It will also be a good test for our goalkeeping department.

I pray England choke Mikel so that we can see how the whole team fares with Mikel on the pitch and yet choked up. It might help us see how to free other players especially Moses and Ighalo.

Rohr Informs Moses, Iwobi, Idowu, Obis, Uzoho, 5 Others They Will Start Vs England; Ndidi Update

Published: June 01, 2018

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has already picked the eleven players that will start the eagerly anticipated pre-World Cup friendly against England on Saturday.

Due to the inclement weather, the training that was scheduled to start at 1700 hours at Wembley had to be suspended for several minutes, but they finally had a short session before returning to their hotel.

The players didn't do much in training today, they performed warmup exercises and worked with the ball before Rohr called off the session.

There was some good news, with Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi training with the squad but that is not to say he's in contention to face the Three Lions as he's lacking match fitness and there was no practice game between the Team A and Team B to test his fitness.

After the training session, Rohr informed Francis Uzoho that he will be in goal against the Three Lions, and the German has also selected Abdullahi Shehu, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun and Brian Idowu as the defenders.

Despite only one full training session with the Super Eagles in London, Victor Moses has been informed that he will make the starting line-up, as well as Eddy Onazi, Joel Obi, Obi Mikel and Alex Iwobi.

Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo starts upfront in a 4-2-3-1 system.

Nigeria Starting XI Vs England : Uzoho; Abdullahi Shehu, Troost-Ekong, Balogun, Idowu; Onazi, Obi; Victor Moses, Obi Mikel, Alex Iwobi; Ighalo.

Simon weeps, as scan finally rules him out of World Cup

• Argentina Hits Barcelona For Final Preparation
Super Eagles and Gent winger, Moses Simon, was in sober mood yesterday, as he departed the team’s camp in London for Belgium after scans conducted confirmed that he will be out of action for three weeks.

Simon was at the Hive Stadium on Thursday and underwent series of scans, while his Super Eagles teammates were sweating it out in a workout ahead their friendly against England. The match will hold today at the Wembley Stadium.

‘’Simon is finally out of the 2018 World Cup and he is unhappy that he won’t be traveling to Russia with the Super Eagles squad,’’ a source in the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) told allnigeriasoccer.com.

‘’The scan performed on Thursday confirmed he will be out for three weeks. Simon just left the Super Eagles hotel and said he is going to Belgium.’’

There are 25 players presently in the Super Eagles camp in London, and coach Gernot Rohr must drop two by June 4.

The players are expected to leave their hotel for the Wembley Stadium at 16:45 hours for their final workout before the friendly against the Three Lions today.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles Group D opponent at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, Argentina, arrived in Barcelona yesterday morning for their final training camping.

Argentina will face Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria.
Jorge Sampaoli’s jetted off to Barcelona after their 4-0 thumping of Haiti in Tuesday’s international friendly in Buenos Aires.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi who scored three goals and assisted on Sergio Aguero’s fourth in the friendly also shared a picture on his Instagram with the caption: “We are already home.”

Argentina will remain in Barcelona until June 8 as they put the finishing touches to their World Cup preparations.
