Trust we are all having a nice holiday.

Can someone please confirm that the daily % appreciation of one's MMF investment is based on the capital only, not on the current balance (capital + Profits)?

Mansard_16.07 and Stanbic_14.92 as of this morning/yesterday

If I were you, I'll pull my funds together and invest in just one of them.

Where did you get Mansard rates from? Fman says otherwise!!

You could spread the investment between MMF and GIF for short term gains then Bond Fund and Balanced Fund for Long term.

Interests are compounded after every 3 months, while SIAML recently claimed to have started daily compounding of up to 7% of the interests accrued from a specified class of assets in their MMF...

Balanced Fund is more long term and performs better over that period.

It depends on the firm you are dealing with , some can say 1m while some accept 100k but the minimum with CBN is 50m.
by the way this is not a treasury bills thread, I recommend you go there with all your questions on Tbills

Making it as simple as possible, Money Market Funds (MMF) is an investment opportunity for Low risk appetite person like me shocked

What the funds managers does is to invest your funds on fixed securities with guaranteed interest and preserve your capital. From my findings the interest rates has been higher that Govt fixed securities (Treasury Bills, etc) but still below inflation rates (for some of the fund managers)

Try the below links on how the fund managers are performing.

Hope this helps

You can download the app from google playstore it is called stanbicibtc mobile app #appyness once you download the app install it and follow the instructions under the "open an account" option.. Then you select mutual fund and follow the instructions... A simple way i calculate is amount to invest divided by 100 then answer multiplied by 17% (which is current interest rate) then you divide the answer by 12 to give you monthly interest and further divide by 30days to give you daily interest... grin for example

#5000\100 = 50
Then 50 x17% (interest) = #850 yearly
Then #850 /12months = #70.83k monthly
Then #70.83k monthly /30days in a month = #2.36 dsily grin

So for your 5k thats how much you make... Guess it is still better than leaving it in a savings account...

You can start small and continue to add more funds to your investment as you wish.. All the best ma
. Bros, help calculate that of balanced fund with 5.12%
