Good question!

What stops Innosson from producing Luxury Buses seeing that his people have a high demand for it?
What stops him from producing Mini Buses, looking at the demand for it?

When he chose to produce SUV, where he does nto have comparative advantage, compared to the likes of Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes, who is to blame?

Finally, why are you blaming Yorubas for buying Marcopolo from Brazil if truly you know and accept that Innosson does not produce such buses? angry angry

You see, you cant probate and approbate at th same time.
innoson do produce metro buses and its used by Enugu anambra fct govts

Will these vehicles remain government property or they will be allocated to current owners of danfo buses with proper arrangements on management and payback?

It's obvious many people are not looking deep into this government move. I don't know why government want to be involved in 'running' transport business when it's otherwise world-over. Growing up in this city, we had LSTC in the late 80s/early 90s. It's now defunct because maintenance was 0! BRT/LAGBUS is going the same route now.
Why won't the government involve private participation by giving the busses to small businesses. Then they play the role of regulator (which is popular position govt agencies play in the Western world we're coping).

You have a point here, however if they build metro rails they wouldn't steal enough now!

Thank you oo. Ambode is setting up his personal business with tax payers money and as usual the gullible lagosians are hailing the scammer. Their eyes go soon clear

I hope it will be opened o! Imagine 5000units of vehicles from Brazil?

An automobile manufacturer needs to produce about 100,000 units to break even. 8,000 buses na change.

Leave them make dem dey jubilate nonsense. The brt they have on ground is struggling to take people from ikd and mile 12 to cms. The idio.tic management of the buses dont even care about how they delay people for hours at the terminals. The useless govt wants to monopolise everything and leave people with no option. So when they start their madness of delaying commuters for no reason, you will have no choice than to wait for hours. I know they are just making noise. The BS can never work. When you ban the danfo drivers, which job will dey do? How many of the brt buses will be enough for the whole lagos. Iranu!!

Who will drive these other buses?

1. I wish it were made by IVM, but I know it would be costly
2. I think a more tolerant colour like black or wine should have been used. Lagosian would wear that blue off in a matter of week, it would be looking like a carton.
3. I'm not one to support any party, but I just want to state for the records that Ambode is the best governor Lagos has ever had. Silent and working.

Important question.
But can our local manufacturers get 8,600 buses ready in 3 years?
Maybe due to cost (marcopolo might be cheaper)

But even Nigerian inter-city transport companies hardly buy Nigerian.
marcopolo cheaper hehehe I laugh you

5000 Marco buses at 150Million naira each is 750 billion naira. We have not even added the cost of wear and tear on roads associated with these. Repair costs and other miscellaneous. That's 1 trillion naira.

That would construct 5 new world class rail lines that would criss cross the length and breadth of Lagos but alas we have fools as administrators.

Except if the number is just bogus, there's no way someone with his head screwed in right would think this is the right way to go for public transportation. 5000 buses?

This is a welcome development, I mean most danfos are no longer fit for transportation there are many of them with bad parts, but for new Lagos buses it's a question of maintenance for continued long term care.

There are many jobless people that will drive ambode's buses. If you had a bus you were driving for comercial use and making your own money at your own convenience and rules, will you abandon your bus and go drive ambode's bus to earn 50k per month when you make over 100k with your personal bus per month?
