Hi Famz.

DD is a twin girl. She hasn't been meeting her developmental milestone. She throws up and shows little or no interest in eating(likes to take a lot of water) asides breastmilk. She turns 1 this month. Her twin brother weighs about 4kg more than her. Last weight check was around 5.8kg, her twin brother almost 6.3kg. She's yet to start crawling while her twin brother, though not yet standing alone or walking, started crawling and standing with support over 2 months ago. She is not as energetic as his twin brother, all she could do is make a 360 degrees turn while sitting with little or no effort to reach for objects beyond her circumference. She always wants to stand when being held but hardly makes attempt of it unaided. Sometimes I feel scared as to whether everything is alright with her cos she looks little in size(weight). The Pediatric says she's Ok and recommended motor skills exercise for her but I'm still kinda worried as this has not seemed to have helped. Any advice pls?

dunasy:

Babies grow at their own speed and I agree with the paediatrician... she just might be very reserved

Just engage her more..

feddy27:

after typing many things, network messed up sad sad sad
- Pls Don't compare her with her twin, she has her own capabilities
- For the food, get very fancy and colorful plate... most toddlers this age wants to feed themselves... give her chicken, fish, eggs, sausages..allow her feed herself
- If really worried about her weight, buy pediasure drink for her... come back and testify wink
- put toys in front of her, encourage and cheer her up when she makes any move

Hi everyone, happy to be back here. Many thanks to everyone who responded to my concerns, you were all amazingly on point. DD started walking without any attempt to crawl, she was always wanting to stand on her feet and shortly after that took her first step. Like dunasy said, she’s very reserved. She surprisingly started walking without support before my chairman (the twin brother) despite all his initial gra gra (lol) grin grin grin. They are 15 months old and can both walk unassisted now. smiley

[I preserve my ogi by placing it in water that should be changed daily. quote author=kazchick post=68547694]chai..all these discussion of illness is making me scared. I guess it is the weather and its effect on babies. May God speedily heal all who are ill in Jesus name. Amen

In other news, I have successfully found how to preserve ogi (for those who don't have light). Simply scatter the ogi on a cloth/tray, spread under the hot sun to dry. Once dried, mill it with your blender to powder form and store in a container. No more spoilage. [/quote]

Nah except get teething rings, it's safer for your LO to scratch his gum with them. Apart from that be patient, teething is a very long process
