Hello Dyt, I know you feel hurt and betrayed. The fact that someone took your kindness for a weakness is really annoying. Could actually make you pull the trigger.

But let me tell you something. If u feel like forgiving him. Please do so. I am not asking you to forgive him. But if you feel some where inside you to forgive him. Please do so.

He deserves all the shame he gets. And I just wonder why he has not just gotten the money somewhere to pay you since the beginning of this thread.

When I was about to graduate from school (I was responsible for my fees) I just casually confided in a friend that I needed money a soft loan that I will pay back gradually.
This friend with a golden heart just told me not to worry. The next day he went and gave me that money 150k cash, he actually didn't even wait for me to call and remind him. He brought it himself. I was so happy.

But do you know what I happened. I found very difficult to pay the loan even in bits. But I never failed to call him and remind him that I have not forgotten the loan. That's where I guess I was better than your so called scammer.
In short it took over 3 years before I could pay the money back. I paid it in one lump. I cannot imagine why a guy like that will take advantage of a kind lady like yourself. The curse is on him. So if you can forgive him, please do. For the sake of the wife and kid.

The person who was granted a loan of N150k by "a friend he confided in.." is in a different situation
Lending money to a stranger requires a very very large heart. And it exposes the lender to "possible ridicule" when there is a default

In Nigeria, we always advise people to take easy with crooks when there are plenty of people doing backbreaking work or simply suffering (eg widows, women abandoned by their husbands etc)
Those require our "forgiveness" - sparing them some thought, give them money, encourage them with kind words - but nobody speaks for them especially as they are unable request anything on social media

But in the spirit of Ramadan, I, as a Muslim, respect your decision

I understand how you feel sha.. No need to cry jare, the scammer will do all the crying soon. People get scammed everyday by close friends, families, relatives, etc.

Just learn to trust less, expect the worst from people and you'll never be disappointed. I'm not saying you should trust me less though or expect the worst from me
