[[b]quote author=medd422 post=69374480]Hahahahahaha let me laugh well jare... I never knew I’ve set this thread on fire with my comment. A lot of u even went back to former post to discredit me. Well I’m not employed by anyone of u, I own my own car and I have another car, I can show u proof if u want to. I drove on rental for like a year and I didn’t make much more to buy me a car that’s Uber ready. Until I got an offline trip through a friend to Anambra that lasted a month 50k to and fro then 20k for every day I spend in anambra. I used my small car that’s I’ve always had to do the job, I made about 500k on that trip, then got an offer of a Tokunbo unpopular car. I sold the smaller car to get something tangible. I called Gazuz for advice but he discouraged me on that particular brand which I understand but I was bent on leaving the slavery of paying the better part of my earnings to someone. The car has been somehow problematic but I drive it myself and it’s better than being anyone’s slave. I got the car and luckily, the same client that took me to anambra referred me to someone else, that got me 400k richer. Within four months, with rigorous stress on Uber and support from family members living abroad that wants me to reduce d stress I go through, I managed to buy another car that I put on rental for 25k per week, my reason is based on my experience on the job. D driver doesn’t owe and we are good like that.
Now to my earlier post, I used d word rubbish because of the fare rate and 25% commission charged by Uber. And if I’m to have a job of 180k now, trust me I will never leave it to drive taxi. I will not leave certainty for uncertainty.
And for the fools talking about applying for jobs on Nairaland, sho mo age mi ni, I’m not looking for job in Nigeria anymore, I have other plans as this will also be my last year driving Taxi..

To the internet does not forget crew, my message is comming late cos I’ve been on an offline trip since Wednesday, I took someone to anambra for a burial and also to visit Holy Ghost ministry of Adoration (Ebube Monso). I just entered Lagos now now now grin and I just got 100k richer. grin

Hello everybody,

Please I need your input on this.
I have a 2007 BMW 320i (2.0L engine) and a 2000/2001 BMW 318i (1.8L engine). Which of the 2 is economical and suitable for uber/taxify?

Thanks.

I picked a rider and he was explaining to me how he just used his own Honda Crosstour to hit another man's avensis and the chasis of the avensis damaged and the man is demanding for another car coupled with the right off of his crosstour, I told him to call his insurance so as to know what's next, I was so surprised when he said he only has third party insurance.

evilspirit:
On this issue of insurance. I remember a discussion i had with a group of people after that Otedola accident. They concluded insurance was not important. To them the only important thing is life. When there's life there hope you will buy another car.

I didn't bother arguing with them. I just painted a scenario assuming you and I had our cars burnt in that fire. After the fire we were both happy that we came out alive. After a while reality of not having cars will set in. Then suddenly insurance paid me i added some money and i bought another car. The sad reality of not insuring your car will hit you hard.

They all kept quiet.

I know someone with Venza 2013 And another with 2011 Ford explora when I checked online they both had 3rd party insurance.

Bros I thought my ears was deceiving me before, if people make that much and it's certain many drivers won't have problems delivering the 35k weekly.

To start with, how many people were happy with their job in Nigeria apart from politicians and musicians, may be 10%. Most Nigerians are forcing themselves to love their jobs for surviving sake just because of the fear of unkown. There's this traffic officer(woman) at domino's pizza bus-stop at yaba, she does her work passionately and happily control the traffic inside hot sun but the question is

Did she love her job? May be Yes or may be No

Did she do her work wholeheartedly and passionately? The answer is yes.

Many owners are into debt right now just because of the half information they heard about e-hailing business, and many are doing wonderfully well base on information as well.

There is money in e-hailing business, there's no doubt but the full time drivers are the ones with first hand informations, even there are car owners that only drives on weekends which is pick days and they think that is how everyday is but every business has their ups and down.

Let the man that want to resign from his 180k job drive during weekends and may be his leave period so as to have knowledge of what he's going into, by then he will choose the better by himself.

dru23:

The guy said uber job is rubbish now .. Omo you have to take pride in your job.. Even if you don't love it ,do it like u love it ..and if you are not happy with your job ,person should quit ..hahaha whatelse.. Why should your job make you miserable? That's means riders will likely get bad services.. That is my point
