Serving your country is only a requirement to graduate study in that country in which service exists; so in a nutshell you can apply to canada without service AND YOU can APPLY to a university in Saskatchewan and other provinces while acceptance would largely depend on your type of 2.2 and the cgpa of the last two years of your study and your years of experience in that field, it may be a Herculean task but if you believe you can achieve
Just put in a good application generally

Good Afternoon Gurus in the house,

Please am in a deep shit right now, i requested for my admission to be deferred till January, but from their end i was made to understand that there is no January 2019 intake till September 2019, i later sent them another mail requesting for the cancellation of the deferement was made to understand that my space has been given to someone and presently the school is on waitlist so i will have only two options left, either join the waitlist or defer till september 2019. i responded to them that they should put me on waitlist. Now my challenge is this, should i still go ahead with the tuition fee and visa process with my initial acceptance letter or i should wait till when they confirm the space for me. i really dont know what to next.

Am in a state of confusion right now because i was planning on paying for the tuition fee by month ending and putting in my visa application the same time in other to resume from September 2018.

Please i need your input here.

Thank you and God bless

Support covers for either full tuition or part tuition. At times they can give you a monthly additional chilli as a lab assistant

Fellas I submitted my Study application to VFS on the 11th July and my admission stated that I have to be in school by the First week of September this year. What do you guys think about the time frame....? We were plenty that submitted that day and we are all supposed to be in different Canadian schools by that very week. Please your ideas on the time frame

Gurus in the house, I was denied a visa in early June, but today I re-applied for my study permit as it took me one month to write my SOP and LOE.. I want to ask if visa support letter from a department chair who is a professor has any significant or effect on one’s application.. As I got a visa support letter from the Head of department(chair) in Canada and a senior lecturer from my school in Nigeria addressed to the embassy to support my application after I told him I was denied.. I have six weeks left before school resumes.. I want to know if anyone has gotten something like this before.. hope they wount see it as sign of desperation..

These letters may not influence the VO's decision unless they explain certain areas in your explanation to VO's concerns to your refusal. The only thing that can boost your chance is how well you address the concerns raised by the visa officer in your gcms notes

When it is two weeks to your resumption and a your application has not reached an advanced stage ( medical call), send a message to your school that you will arrive late for class

Attached is the comment from my GCMS note

I think it is too generic and vague and it doesn't tell me anything.

My only thought is that maybe I need a better SOP/LOE.

Please house help to analyse

You are absolutely right, it is vague. Much will depend on how you repackage your application, especially your Sop. Sometimes faced with so many applications and little time to make a decisions, the VOs have generic already prepared statements like this on their computers that just begin to draw from and slap on applicants. If I tell you how many GCMS notes of people I have read with almost the same wordings as yours, you will be amazed. The crux of the matter from what I can tell from the GCMS, is convincing the VO that you will return to Nigeria. Don't do the mistake many applicants make when reapplying, making similar statements like they did before in the previous application. If you have been refused before, when reapplying, your SOP should be a rebuttal of the statements that the VO outlined as reasons for refusal of previous application . After you have done that foremost, then you can go ahead and tackle other things that the Vo didn't mention. Leave no stone untouched.

You can show the VO your bonafides as genuine student by emphasizing your academic strength on your transcript and pointing to other places in the record that compels the belief that you will attend school and not merely using a student permit as a way of facilitating entry to Canada.

You can show that you will return to Nigeria by presenting strong family ties. It is not enough to submit a marriage certificate and birth certificate of your children. You must talk about the close knit and loving family you have and how going to Canada would be hard on the family. Anyone can have a family, but it takes a person of character to take family seriously.

You can also show other ties that bind you to your home. Property and investment and job prospects. Take an extra step if you have property, to follow through with the valuation of the land by a registered quantity surveyor, including a detailed plan of the property. Don't just present the property documents. Talk about how you stand to be a beneficiary of the property or investment if its not in your name. Include pay slips and show that your job prospects back to Nigeria are great by what you would study if you don't have a job yet.

Give details of your planned program and how it would translate back to Nigeria on return. Talk about why you decided to study abroad and not Nigeria. Reasons like a foreign education is highly respected in Nigeria in themselves, hardly pass. Show how such respect for a foreign degree in Nigeria applies personally to you and what you intend to do for Nigeria.

Admitting weakness or showing remorse is very powerful in a SOP. It makes you credible before a VO.

Keep everything concise, straight and to the point. Don't start giving away answers or voluntarily revealing information that was never asked from you. Your evidence assembled should do a majority of the talking for you. Good luck reapplying again. One denial is never fatal to an application if the right steps are followed in tackling previous refusal.

My five cents.

Ogbeni I will advice you to do it in Nigeria before you travel. because it also depends on where you will be in Canada. the cost of going to Ottawa is not that cheap too. if you have contact in Nigeria do it before you go. my advice.

Everything works together for our good. I can see that you are in a state of making a drastic decision. from my opinion dear, I will advice you defer your admission to the next academic year to give you room for more preparation. why did I say so? 1. God might be involve in this maybe is not yet your time, I was also in your shoe in 2016 and I was in a rush to apply so as to resume in sept 2016 but truth be told I was not ready financially and emotionally as at then, so I made a decision to defer to winter term in jan 2017 but no space till Sept 2017, so I had no choice I settled for that and applied for my Visa in January 31st, 2017 and got approved in March 8th imagine. I had to work and spend time with families and friend till August 28th before I left for Canada. so dear weigh your options okay if you are really ready and again can you meet the timeline for Sept 2018 resumption? please I will advice defer and get the New admission letter in your hand so you can apply anytime you are ready and wish before you know we are in 2019. My advice anyways.

Hi, you already submitted your application, so right now, just keep your fingers crossed as no one can do anything at this point. I sort of think the rush has reduced, so you may be lucky to have your application processed early enough, even when it was really busy, some peeps got their approvals in 3weeks, so why not you too? wink Just keep hope alive.

All the best mate!

Thanks ratawu for responding to my issues, actually, the professor in Canada, actually wrote on the relevance of the course, how it an excellent fit for my previous academic qualification, employment prospect, recommendation, telling the VO he strongly advice them to approve my visa as a genuine student.. as for my lecturer here in Nigeria, he tackled how the course is needed here in Nigeria and all.. am just afraid, I shouldn’t have added them..the letters look cool, but just scared the VOs might see it another way! I tried to tackle the reasons I was denied tho..have not seen anybody collected letter from school.. mo gbe ooooo
