That is not required.... Just walk into VFS Global office anyday. Take note that you'll be given number tags as you arrive. So I'll suggest you go very early. Cheers.

Go to their office in ikoyi and resubmit the letters and the documents, don't put your passport. If your appeal is granted they will call for your passport

French Embassy!!!!!!funny french guys

Myslf n family submitted july 09 for a trip of Aug 21 - Sep

After 24 workings days had past i called d embassy..A Nigerian dude picked up n says i shld send a reminder email on Wednesday if i don't get our PP by then we wld be 5 days to travel...

I just felt sorry for my family cos tickets were fast rising n doubling the normal flight ticket.

Nways i did a reminder n got no response..i had told my family that even if the visas comes out we wld have to reschedule to during midterm break in school..cos i pressumed d french guys were just taking us for a ride..if travel date is for Monday n as from Friday no news..definately embassy's wld not open on sat n sunday..

We had payed fully for our hotel..450k + with a gud cancellatio. Policy..

By Monday as there was no news i cancelled our hotel..as i knew Tue n Wed were public holidays so defo d trip is been jeopardies by d embassy itslf..

Ystday Aug 23 making 31 working days we got a pickup message for PP n behold refusal signed Aug 23...lolz

We were refused Aug 23 when trip was to starr Aug 21...really really funy..

Refused on d basis..of justification of stay was not bla bla bla

God forbid me appealing such..how do u even appeal a tourist visit..if they simply don"t want us visiting their country as of the moment

I'll rather we do our holiday somewhere else

appealing does not mean you still have interest in visiting them. it is just for one to reduce the number of visa denial given.

I contacted Campus France, who gave me the checklist of documents that I would need to provide for visa consideration.

I gathered all the documents as specified in the checklist, went for campus France interview, after that, I proceeded to VFS for submission. Unfortunately, I couldn't submit it the same day because I went with 6months SOA which I was asked to go back and bring that of 3months.

For insurance, the start date must be the intended date of your travel.
SOA must be 3months. If your working, get your employment letter attested by Chamber of Commerce, and also a recommendation letter from your company.

For flight, book in the morning of your interview or a day before.

Accommodation, (hmmmmmm, sign of relief), although my school made it simple, but what you should know is that, the earlier you start, the better if your school can't assist.

Lastly, your SOA must show a proof of at least €615/month for the whole period of your study.

Above all, Pray Until Something Happen (PUSH).

I think this helps. Should you have further or specific question, please do not hesitate to bring it forward here for the Gurus in the house to assist.

Je nous souhaite tout le meilleur.

Please, is it compulsory that the SOA must be that of 3 months?
I submitted One year SOA. The guy at campus France didn't look and it and also the pre-examination officer at VFS Lagos didn't even notice it too.
It was after my submission that I saw your tread saying it must be 3 months.
I don't know if that mistake will have any effect on the outcome of my student's visa application?

Nowayo4Real:

Good evening all,

I picked up my passport today with a year study visa on it. I really thank God who made it possible. I can't stop thanking everyone here that responded to my worries, queries before and after my application. Many more thanks to Ogatboy, Jamaticulus, harzontorh, youngmil, and all of you who took time out of your tight schedule to provide the necessary assistance.

I submitted on July 20th 2018 and got SMS for collection on 1st August 2018.

Its my first time visa application. I am indeed grateful to God almighty for everything.

For those that are yet to submit, I would advice you get all the documents as specified in the checklist, and above all, pray like you never prayed.

Thank you all

Sorry about your refusal.
First, the viability of an appeal depends on how much time you have left before your planned trip, since it is for a specific event, so you factor that in. Appeals take time.

Secondly, you were given Reason 2 as the reason, which along with Reasons 8 and 9, are the vaguest of all and are catch-alls. However, if you plan to appeal, you can address Reason 2 by showing how your attendance at this event will benefit you/your career, for instance, why the expenditure of plane fare and accommodation expenses by you/your employer etc. is justified in relation to what is hoped will be achieved, and so forth. If you have attended similar events before, provide proof. Since this reason also covers the "conditions" of the proposed stay as well, was your accommodation arrangement confirmed and generally appropriate (e.g. covered all the days of the proposed stay, etc.)?

Thirdly, if you do decide to appeal, it is most important to have it drafted properly in French by someone who can do so well. Avoid using online translation software or suchlike, the results are iffy and this may end up wasting your time if the appeal is simply not treated.

Lastly, all the foregoing assumes that your application ticked the main other boxes, such as having some travel history to one or more visa-required countries, sufficient funds in your account(s) (proportionality of amount shown to proposed expenditure) and ties to Nigeria. If not, an appeal will very likely not be worthwhile.

Best of luck.
