Adeosun did nothing wrong in my opinion. what's the fuss about Nysc certificate and exemption letter when majority of Nigerian youths that have it are either unemployable or unproductive? We lost a great economist just because of a useless scheme that has outlived it's usefulness. We are a certificate worshipping nation hence the reason every undergraduate sees certificate as a meal ticket rather than concentrate on researches that can better the country. Even gowon will wish he could scrap the useless scheme that has resulted in deaths of innocent graduates posted to horrid terrains sad

NOPE!
Please do not let tribe or political affiliation blind you.

Her explanation is useless. Holds no water. I wish I can see here here in UK I will tell it to her face. She just set back the credibility of women in high positions. Govt can appoint them but makes the work of people like me and others who want a female president soonest much harder. Since women just now seem as sleazy and untrustworthy like the men in politics. They will now quote Diezani, Pat Etteh & Kemi as prime examples.

We have UK born kids. If at least on parent is 9ja then the child is also automatically 9ja at birth. Obtaining Nigerian passport at 34 makes no difference. Many Nigerians are 89 or more and they have never held a passport. But it does not mean they are not Nigerians from birth.

She visited Nigeria several times on UK passport & visa perhaps just to avoid the whole agro and bureaucracy of applying for 9ja passport. Many Nigerians with foreign passport still use visa to travel to 9ja.

BUT it doesn't mean she was not aware (or her parents not aware) she was a Nigerian in 1989 when she finished polytechnic in London. She could have applied for Nigerian passport then and go do NYSC.

Many of us do not like NYSC but the law is the law. You may not like Lagos taxes or PHCN bills but you still pay anyway. You can through you NASS member push for a Bill to scrap NYSC. That is your right. But not retro-actively.

She committed a crime. If drugs was found in your luggage at MMA, you cannot explain it away that another person put it your bag or that you were not aware it's narcotics. Even if true, ignorance is no defence.

Majority of diaspora born Nigerians still do not do NYSC. I even advise many to go but safety/security issues are their polite excuse or they already have a job lined up. The professional courses graduates need to embark on mandatory post-qualification board training. Many cannot even envisage ever going to live and work in Nigeria as Nigerians, maybe as expatriates.

Kemi must have felt same way then. Only to get sumptuous opportunities through Wale Edun & Amosun. So she needed NYSC exemption which she had no grounds to get legally. So Oluwole came to the rescue. For a long time until Premium Times blew it all open. grin cheesy

Please let's call a spade a spade.

She did nothing wrong but i gnorance is not an excuse. For a President who is an anti corruption ambassador, nothing is an excuse. How she rose to that level in the system shows how porous we are and rather than strengthening our institutions, he is chasing individuals , using federal agencies which ought to be neutral to clamp down on political enemies. If he didnt made it about individuals, just maybe he needed to worry about the institution.

Lets go back a few months back, Do we remember Dino, in a sweep, police were involved. Inviting him, luckily, he had pictures and school was able to check the veracity og his claims. Even this present Adeleke, we all knew how he was harassed but the President and his delusioned party keep encouraging unprecedented impunity of office. Even the President himself has a questionable educational history. So what are we talking about here.

i have always said it that the President is too incompetent. He takes one step forward and then several back. He is biased, nepotic and very divisive and this might bring his downfall in no time. Assuming he did the right thing immediately the issue popped up by shuffling cabinet and curbing the issue before it unbundled, just maybe he wouldn't have destroyes the girls life but his pride, stone heart, and obstinate personality brought Kemi to ridicule.

Everybody now knows his true character but some have just turned deaf ear to it out of greed knowing it is detrimental to national growth and development. The bold ones who are telling him the blunt truth and are willing to correct the mistake are the ones been chastised, stigmatised and casted in badlight, not to mention being chased around by Federal instruments. He encourages impunity with his silence and body language.

Neway, all these are nothing compare to whats ahead especially as we approach 2019. If nigerians are not weary of this man, then their unfortunate predicament just started cos we will all experience the true definition of his person and trust me, its not going to be funny. The impunity that will escalate and the erosion of rights will be unprecedented.

PDP just like chasing shadows. The most important thing is that kemi agreed that the NYSC exemption certificate is fake and has resigned. Former speaker of house of Representatives Salisu Buhari who got to the house through fake Toronto university certificate which he never went. What did PDP do to him when they were in power.
PDP (people deceiving people) must face their business on how to be truthful and stop posting fake news all over the Internet.

Yes, am in total support of this from PDP, but let quickly go back to history. Kemi should pls return all the money just like the way Evans the Senate president did during the obasanjo's regim and like that man from Toronto university Mr salisu. Not only kemi this time around, those people that were employed to verify that documents and failed to do so should also return the salaries paid.

Kemi adeosun has benefited from forgery of nysc certificate and that forgery is a violation of Section 467 of the Criminal Code Cap C17, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003 She should be extridited to Nigeria and charged she is a felon even if laws are enacted to scrap nysc by her God father they cannot be applied retrospectively hence nothing changes. This Nysc thing that I suffered for someone will just come and skip it like that sad

Stop being overtly emotional and sentimental about yahoo yahoo people.

The minister and all the people supporting her here are yahoo yahoo and real criminals.

And those of you citing PDP as an excuse is a form of crime on its own.. Remember, they where voted out because of crimes the present APC has taken to another level.

Stop making excuses over ANOTHER FAILED GOVERNMENT.

Pls stop acting stupid publicly.

So far NYSC is still in force, everything the PDP chairman said remains correct. That fraudulent woman needs to get extradited from the united kingdom to face trial here in Nigeria. She knows she has commited a serious crime and that was why she took off same day.

Our people in diaspora looks for opportunities to leverage on the stupidity of people like you and Buhari that have refused to understand that there is a difference between been educated and been enlightened.

For a few of us that have travelled and stayed amidst your so called people in diapora, we know.

Stop acting foolishly and you have to desist from just typing poo if you can't use your head. Better still, ask people for the best of views before you jump on a page like this to type rubbish.

mr man she resigned and nobody sacked her, because she is a national disgrace, just like awolowo drank poison and nobody assassinated him. This country has been this backward because of yoruba and hausa, even though none of the tribes did anything to help get independence for Nigeria. The country has been stabilized because of the Igbos who break boundaries no matter the odd, and the south which is blessed with every mineral resources Nigeria hinged all its life to. Yorubas are lucky that the East and South are in Nigeria if not hausa and fulani would have massacred and eliminated everyone of you long time ago.

Ioannes:

What ignoramuses like you don't understand is that the president could have ordered the NYSC to issue a genuine one for her and slipped in in place of the forged one.

She chose to resign. But hey, let's crucify her after all she is APC and not Igbo.

Screenshot your responses when Stella Oduah was accused of a criminal offence. If you spoke out against her on this forum I'll gladly apologize.

If you're looking for an ignoramus, look in the mirror. She is not entitled to an exemption simply because she graduated before 30 and did not serve. That is the law. There is no genuine or valid exemption certificate for a Nigerian who graduated before 30 and did not serve unless s/he was a member of the armed forces and some other military exceptions provided in the Act which she is not qualified for. In other words, the government cannot input or order the NYSC to insert a 'genuine' exemption certificate for one who graduated before 30 and doesn't qualify for other exceptions provided because as far as the law is concerned, that simply does not exist!

It is clear that ignorance of the law is no excuse! As educated as she is,she ought to have studied the legal provisions or gone directly to the NYSC and been properly guided rather than depend on some unknown 'associates'. Furthermore, the government and the party ought to offer unqualified apologies to Nigerians for failing in their primary duty of upholding the law rather than attempt to write her resignation off as some honourable, heroic action. There also ought to be punishment for crimes especially one as heinous as fraud and forgery and in a sensitive position like Commissioner and Minister for Finance!

Should we clap for her because she was caught red-handed in an offence other Nigerians are pilloried and crucified for especially in a government that prides itself on 'fighting corruption'? Hell No! Stop being so simple-minded, it isn't all about tribe and party with everyone as it clearly is for you.

I wonder if my dear country is save..... Apparently, they bwere bribed.... Now this is my judgement, NYSC aren't you aware of the screening ? Can't you raise alarm then? Ohh you were bribed too, HOUSE, DSS, NYSC to be probed for bribery and corruption, you're the one that corrupted the system she was able to penetrate cause she knows THIS IS NIGERIA, she'll never try that in England..... You guys did worse..... Now ADEOSUN you think say na only you wise or fit speak English? What you did was wrong though those bastards helped you ..... In your opinion, you 're making sense abi? Even if you like be the best surgeon in the world, if you don't have the required certification, you will be regarded as a fraud.
You need to watch a Hollywood series called SUITS . It tells a story about a young man called Mike Ross who was smarter than Harvard lawyers but was termed a fraud because he doesn't have certificate to Pratice as a lawyer. NYSC is about patriotism.

PDP, before you call Kemi to return salary, you should call every politician, CEOs in positions with forged, bought, bsc graduate in six months and doctored certificates to be called to return all they have all earned so far. In as much as i'm not supporting what Kemi did by not asking the right people questions. I guess she depended on politicians for advise which mislead her. Didn't the Ogun state governor know it was a crime yet, they pushed her into federal appointment to cause her disgrace. Nigerians in position of authority, who amongst them totally are free from fraud, certificate buying should swear by traditional gods and lets see how many of them are free? All Nigerian leaders, aside pa Buhari, because he did not lie he had degree, should be investigated so as to bring back yesterday of truth where qualified people will be in the right place and not this is my family with no knowledge. This is only way Nigeria can be amongst the comity of nations.

I totally agree with Secondus on this. Let's even go down the memory lane a bit.
First and formost, it took Mr. President six months to enthrone this National embarrassment.

I wonder the screening exercises done by the DSS and other relevant agencies not to have discovered this and avoid us this embarassmemt, to think that she has even served before as a Commissioner of Finance exposes more rot in our sytem.
In line with Mr. President's stance on anti-corruption, relevant agencies are supposed to have invited her immediately the news broke out even while she still held sway, to throw more light on the controversy surrounding her exemption letter.

Unfortunately this never happened and may likely never happen as she seems to have the serious backing of the presidency and APC, the statements they were dishing out proves so, from Itsa Sagay, to Joe Igbokwe showing us a photoshopped Kemi wearing an NYSC regalia (which is also another offence).

I was laughing when I read the statement from APC that it was honourable for her to resign. I state it categorically that there is nothing honourable about her resignation. She was suppoaed to be prosecuted alonside all those that have in one way or the other aided and abaited this forgery. There should have been a thorough investigation to fish out everyone culpable in this mess, and not just accepting her resignation, as that will really prove to Nigerians that this government is actually serious and committed to the fight against corruption.

So the corruption here is she finding a way round a useless scheme, how many politicians let their kids go where they were posted, if her performance was outstanding then we just lost a gem, all the ones with certificates, wetin den don give una.... Failure
