Gurus in the house....my accord 2012 displays TPMS light on the dash......I gauge all the tire to have same pressure (40) and the light is still up......how can I get rid of the TPMS light. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by luvinhubby(m): 10:46am On Oct 14, 2018 |
TMANTII: Looks like that. 1 or 2 is either bad, probably yanked off by the 'fukanizer' that repaired your tyre. A scan will point to the tyre that has the faulty one.

uncle005: Engine - Honda 5W-20 Synthetic blend Transmission - ATF-DW1 Steering - Honda PSF Coolant - Honda Type2 Brake - Dot3 brake fluid The 'camera' light is the emission malfunction indicator, a scan will likely point to an O2 sensor or catalytic converter. Check your brake oil level alongside the pads or the brake light bulbs, one of the two is bad. 1 Like |

Luvinhubby, Gazzuz. In the morning or when engine is in cold state, My Honda accord 05 doesn't start at once. Will have to hold down the throttle pedal sometime for it to start. And when it does rpm pedal stays low at about 0.5. Then it take a long time to warm up after which ROM gets to about 0.8 Mentioned this to my mechanic (Kazeem) he said its the spark plugs. Even though he hasn't checked. What could be the cause of this please so I don't start trial and error. Note error code when scanned is cam position sensor |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by mayor2013: 1:24pm On Oct 14, 2018 |
Vbabs: Inspect camshaft position sensor and it's wiring. A cold start hard start. Check coolant temperature sensor as well. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by thebigkendo(m): 1:32pm On Oct 14, 2018 |
TMANTII: 40 is not the recommended pressure for your car.. Check the tire pressure sticker by the driver door |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Vbabs(m): 2:58pm On Oct 14, 2018 |
mayor2013: Thanks mayor2013 As regards coolant temperature sensor, I observed when I start the temperature needle goes all the way up immediately even when the car is not warmed up. But will latter adjust to the normal position. Could it be the sensor failure ? If yes, can I assume that is probably what is causing cold start. How do I explain to my mechanic please. Appreciated |

My CRV 99 v4 speedometer is no longer moving, initially (last week) it kept bouncing(erratic) like a moving compass till it finally stopped and has not moved ever since. We changed the Atf to oando II dextron. My mechanic called a rewire who said a Sensor within the bonnet is bad(even after washing it), still no response. I've not driven it since, as the gears(1-2) take time to engage, and when I engage the Reverse gear, their is a slight jerk. I was advised to change the sensor before driving it so not to damage the tranny. Pls house can someone clarify or help? |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by GAZZUZZ(m): 7:06pm On Oct 15, 2018 |
Freeman147: sounds like vehicle speed sensor mounted on the Gearbox. It has a mechanical part (it turns) and an electronic part (monitors the turns) start by testing device when it's not in the gearbox, pull it out of the gearbox, have it connected leave ignition on and spin the gear at the base by hand while another person watches the odometer. If it moves, you have a problem inside the gearbox. if it remains static you can try another sensor.

@GAZZUZZ, thanks for the advice. But which is the "LESSER EVIL"? A change of sensor or a look into the transmission? I'll explain and participate with my mech/rewire and report back here. GAZZUZZ: |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by GAZZUZZ(m): 7:30am On Oct 16, 2018 |
Freeman147: you are yet to carry out the test. You should also scan the car too. Live scan so you can see the operation on the Vehicle speed sensor. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Readonee35L(m): 11:22am On Oct 16, 2018 |
Honda Pilot 2003 . Problem : low detonation Knock. If vehicle is in neutral its normal. But when under load it makes ignition knocks Fuel has been changed still no change. Check engine light only points to Oxygen sensor and i dont think that's the cause. There are no misfires and vehicle revs just fine. Who has an idea of wah could be wrong. As for the oxygen sensor i dont think they are bad because both of them came on together sensor 1&2. I read somewhere that a blown fuse controlling the sensor could trigger p0135 and p0141 .

Readonee35L: excessive build up of carbon in combustion chamber. Try fixing the 02 sensor codes. |
