Have you ever heard any Yoruba man complain about Tinubu's dominance? Forget the omo ales that pitched tent with the PDP. Tinubu is not perfect, he is human just like you and I and he uses the resources he alledgely amassed to weild the power he currently holds and interestingly it's for the good of the Yoruba race. How many riiff raffs has he given to Lagosians as Governors? See what he did to Ambode when he began messing up the Lagos blueprint....We love our Igbo brothers but they should take a chill pill with our Leader, we are ok with him. Whether anyone likes it or not, he has come to stay and he is going nowhere. Ask yourself if the leaders of other tribes are clean and saints.
What is Otoge in Kwara should also be Otoge in Lagos.

You have some points. But the day Sadiq Khan tells UK London is a no man's land or Obama and his people shows disdain for there host that's the very moment they start to loose right and opportunities that should naturally accord to them. You don't show disgust and hatred for your host the way an average Igbo man does and expect them to continue to treat you with fairness. Instead of building bridges an average Igbo is blinded with ego and sentiments.

Which useless disdain are you talking about? If you live in Lagos, how many times have you seen Igbos in Lagos breaking rules? How many of them fail to pay their taxes? How many of them flagrantly break the laws of the land? People are free to say anything they want to say online. Many of the people that even shout online don't live in Lagos. You don't judge people that live, work and conduct their activities lawfully in Lagos by the actions of unknown people online.

Apart from that, is Nigeria no longer a single, united country? Can a London man tell a Manchester man that he doesn't have a right in London? Even a Scottish man can be anything he wants to be in London. Nobody will tell him that he's not English but Scottish.
The whole talk about no man's land wouldn't have arisen in the first place, in a sane and decent society. If not that Yorubas keep reminding Igbos that they don't have any right in Lagos, that they can't aspire for offices in Lagos, that they cannot freely vote for whoever they want and all such nonsense, who would have been talking about no man's land?

The day Yorubas want Lagos to solely belong to them and Igbos will no longer have any right, then they are saying that Nigeria has ceased to become a nation. Everybody can then go their separate ways. That's the way it should be ideally, but because Nigeria is still far from civilization, that's why you hear all these rubbish like "go back to your villages". How can a man born and raised in Ogbomosho, who has never lived in Lagos be telling another man born and raised in Lagos that he doesn't have any right in Lagos? This sort of nonsense can only happen in countries far from civilization!

Study Awo politics that made him lose Lagos to Herbert Macaulay which nearly gave Igbo(Azikwe) control of Lagos ba ? Many of you Igbos think you are wise you have met a tribe wiser than you n your forefathers in every ramifications in the Yorubas.
Chubhie:

The Great Awo would be shaking his head in the grave. Young man, better study Awo and not Tinubu's amala and gbegiri politics
Are those the virtues foolish PDP governors adopted that ensure none of Ugwauyi Umahi n Ikpeazu does not have a single signature project to show for 4 year allocation ? Not even a single school or hospital bridge or whathave you ?!
Chubhie:

Principles, morals and virtues don't change. This is the very foundation on which Awo's Social political and philosophical ideals were built on. How can tinubu only copy the spectacles of Awo and not his thoughts?

They have as much right as you to seek opportunities in civil service. No law disenfranchises them, you can only argue for a qouta of the slots available be given to original indigenes.
When Rivers or Anambra Government opens their portals for recruitment you can go apply, there's no law that will sideline you.
lies, lies, liers. where? Is NDDC scholarship for every one? i stayed and worked in PH for 12 yrs, you can dare get involve with their politics.
Total agree with the suggestion that non-Yoruba should be employed in the lagos civil service under a quota system 0.5% especially the igbos. The Hausa should given higher quota system because they live happily and peacefully with their hosts; they don't take their hosts for granted.
In the true sense, possibly we have more-hausas in Lagos than Igbos but Igbo are such a noise marker and no respecter of any one including themselves.
We shouldn't take the Igbos for granted anymore, conscious effort must be enforced to put them in their place. Once we fill Lagos civil service with more SW indigenes, we are indirectly developing the SW states just as Osun state governors have been trained as commissioners in Lagos states. LET NOT TAKE IGBOS THREAT with levity, they nurse very evil intentions only waiting for the best appropriate time to execute. THIS IS NOT a HATE SPEECH BUT A CLARION CALL TO YORUBA LEADERS.

Please stop preaching. when the Government on behalf of Fulani herdsmen, Miyatti asked for Lands for cattle ranching did your governors remember we are one Nigeria but they all resisted claiming that the herdsmen will be difficult to control and can even take over the area. So tell me what is the difference between we yorubas protecting our dear Lagos for you Igbos and your governors reaction to cattle ranching. we are even magnanimous to have live so long with the igbos tolerating their excesses. My question again if the table were turned, you guys will do much worse just as you are doing right now in your states. when I mean IGBO, i don't mean all the Igbo( the ipob fans and their sympathizers) excluding those once who respect other tribes and love Nigeria.

It's unfair to make it seem like the cattle colony ish is only a concern to Igbos. Even Yorubas equally refused to give out the lands. Almost all Yoruba governors went against it.
What people were saying is that cattle rearing is a private business. The herdsmen should go and buy land for their ranches. Nobody will hinder them. Plots of land are being sold in Awka, Enugu, Owerri, Abakaliki etc. Anybody can go and buy. The lands on which Igbos build their houses in Lagos, Abuja, Kano etc, they buy them. Even the shops they own in many major markets all over Nigeria, they either buy or rent them.
But for the FG to use their position to claim massive hectares of land and give it to herdsmen who are all Fulanis is what people don't want, cos those hectares of land will in the future become Fulani provinces. I think it's simple to appreciate.

If which tables were turned? Have you ever heard that any Yoruba person was bullied in any part of Igbo land? I am sure you will know one or 2 Yoruba guys or ladies that did NYSC in Igbo land. You can go and ask them how they lived among Igbos in the East. Igbos welcome strangers very well and tolerate them.

The only 'issue' with Igbos is that they have so much drive for success which often seems like arrogance. That is the reason why it may seem like they've come to challenge you in your home land, and many people hate it. It's nothing but a love for competition. If you can compete, then they are game.

It was war time and his masterstroke saved money and ended the war. When you study the history of the Yoruba's you just have to show your respects. That such could be successfully hijacked by con men and reduced to amala and gbegiri politics is unacceptable. The Yoruba's in the true scheme of things should be demanding a breakaway from this current setup cos it holds them back from what they truly represent.

Of all the tribes, I feel sad for the Yoruba's. Their gods first opened their eyes to civilization before most tribes in Africa. They were the first to be educated that Awo even had to give them free education yet the knowledge being power wasn't passed down to their generation. They went from having a nobel laurate to currently having none all because of nigerian politics. The cursed nigerian system which they actively meddled in reduced them from being the most educated and intelligent to nothing. The omulabis have failed tremendously in Nigeria. Many of their sons are touts/thugs; others bus drivers and conductors; mechanics; traditional medicine hawkers, the list is endless which was not the case in the sixties, seventies and eighties. They are so disillusioned that their youths now cling to "Lagos is our own" the only thing that they think they have. They become envious of other tribes succeeding in ventures that were open to them even before other tribes could speak English.
Their case is even gona get worse especially as almajiri schools are springing up daily in the ghettos and slums.

While visionaries like Awo educated the people, Tinubu turned them into thugs and used them as foot soldiers to perpetuate himself as a demi god. When people start elevating Tinubu beyond the Great Awo, you know say water don pass garri. A people so rich in culture and tradition and were already managing empires and expanding while other tribes were hunting lizards. Fearless warriors of old have today turned into laughing stock because of people like Tinubu! That greatness is embedded in their DNA so all hope ain't lost yet.

They've otoged in Kwara and should also otoge all strongholds keeping them down.

At what point would you worry about yourself? Rather than worry about a tribe that has undergone self survival for the best part of a millenium. You say: "Many of their son are touts/thugs......which was not the same in the sixties..." Are these numbers you pulled out of your arse? And Yorubas being envious of other tribe? How does that even work? You just happen to be fortunate to attend a congregation of the entire Yoruba populace and was informed?

I'll advice you spend your time worrying about your Schizophrenia-esque delusions and hallucinations rather than being concerned on a tribe which like every other tribe has a pyramid of various strata.

The obsession on Nairaland about Yorubas is becoming irritating. If you cant tolerate us, then let us be.
