keep your mouth shut? Who arrested Isaac Adaka Boro and sentenced him to death?
This shows your level of information and understanding. So you cannot differentiate between a government and a tribe? Well to answer your question, Mr Man, the Nigerian Government arrested and detained Boro....... I'll appreciate if you'll be a little bit decent, then we can engage. If not, this will be my last response to you. Thanks.

someone once said (was it UPU? Can't remember) that urhobos are the second ethnic group in nigeria that migrates a lot only second to the igbo. Omo yoruba this ur table seems to make that statement quite true.

While growing up in Yoruba land, I had more Urhobo as classmates than any other tribe except Yoruba, although we used to call them Igbo and Isobo then cool

I got to know better latter..... Lol

Very happy the air has been cleared now. At least we can go further and discuss other issues.
Page 25.... wheeew! Very sure even you wouldn't have anticipated that when creating said thread.

Lol.... The fights have only made the OP and his tribe to be more popular cool

I think the reason why Baby124 was aggressive is as a result of the current Ijaw issues in Lagos. A friend briefed me about the whole thing at work today.

In all, we should all learn to respect our hosts. The fact that my father was born in a town does not make the land mine, if his father migrated there, my indigeneship (if there is any word like that) is negotiable.

#peace out.

Hahahahahaha! Seeing Warri all over the thread reminds me of AY in '30 Days in Atlanta' grin grin grin

If there is anything that thrills me the most, it's the pidgin, the rhythm, and the dynamics of its slings. Unfortunately, this is something I don't have. My pidgin sucks that it sounds English cheesy

Honestly, you have reinforced my idea of spending one of my next year's leaves in Warri.

I have this weird soft spot for the pidgin that I would stare in utter amazement should anyone start rapping in pidgin, while spicing it with those mad slangs.

Ishilove, come and speak ya pidgin, please cheesy

Wahhrrii!! Just pronounce it like that!! grin

What's your point exactly by that piece? You should know that a small amount of people does not reflect the total voice of the whole urhobo nation!

We are in the 21st century and you shouldn't reflect on colonial mentality to drive your point. Thanks

I don't think that Urhobos or Isokos are not the 5th largest tribe in Nigeria.
Kanuris are more populated than Urhobos.
Btw Nice thread.

There is no evidence to conclusively under pin your assertion.

Unfortunately to date the problem of population census manipulation has remained in Nigeria. Defying all forms of demographic logic and definitions. Particularly where Northern Nigeria is concerned.

For instance the population of Kano is supposedly more than Lagos. NUFF SAID.

yap, I just wanted to correct you on that overestimation of urhobo population.

You can not correct an estimation in comparison to an over estimation.

Particularly one that has been proven and corroborated internationally by established and respected bodies as a long established farce with regard to Northern Nigeria.

I could go into GIS mapping and the various modern day data systems which is embedded with satellite technology. That further show these imaginary population figures of Northern Nigeria are just what they are imaginary. Unfortunately our society is very happy to live a lie and so are our politicians.

Dr. Sid is not Urhobo but Ukwani. But I think Don Jazzy and D Prince are either Isoko or Ukwani or mixture of both. But coming to the Big brother and past participants and winners of the Big Brother Africa, and Big Brother Naija you will observe that this is not just a Warri thing but a Deltan thing. From Uti , Beverly, Mervin, Karen and many others to now Efe. Deltas have this originality and confidence . We have this self esteem and pride that make us easily likable.

Must you be hateful?mThere is garri and there is garri. Among the different brands of garri, is Igbo or Ijebu garri the most expensive? Isn't Bendel the most expensive?

She wasn't the one who made the initial post about garri. She was scolding the person that did.

Seriously Fratermathy, you let these people bully you into editing your original post and removing 'Ika', 'Ikwerre' and 'Ukwuani'?

Smh.

Igala man, I see you are not comfortable with that development.
Well, OP didn't have much option, lest his thread be rightfully hijacked and derailed.

Maybe you should go and open your own thread and include those subgroups. grin

Urhobo is an Edoid language. Both Bini and Urhobo evolved from the same proto-Edoid language. There are similarities in the way we speak and write our languages. Personally, when someone is speaking Bini, I always feel drawn to it, as if I can understand it at some level even when I can't hear a word of it.
