The construction of the 25-Man Houseboat has reached an advanced stage and is nearing completion. The Houseboat is currently undergoing the outfitting phase in the twin dock. It’s pontoon housing the generators that would supply power to the vessel are already in place. Also, the 2 spud pins and their casings at opposite ends of the pontoon have been completed. The spud pins are designed to hold fast to the seabed thus ensuring the boat is stable even in rough waters. Similarly, the boxing of the 25 man cabin (living area) with steel reinforcement to give the occupants reasonable protection from enemy gun fire is complete. Naval Dockyard Staff are working round the clock to ensure that the boat is ready in no time. |

Odunayaw: As a matter of fact, I think we are utilising, the wrong base defensive weapons...... and we need to up the amount of manpower in this FOBs, then train and drill the men, to work as a unit within a unit..... Only then can we start buying more offensive weapons, to protect them |

Stephandeswardt:Your post I quoted reeks of "why buy when it could be lost" . Much different from this. Stephandeswardt:Yes I agree. Only that I don't see why we shouldn't get MRAPS because of threats of loss It's quite weird we never lose on advance but suffer in defense. Its really weird 1 Like |

Henry240:What exactly do you want? You have never made a mistake in your life? We have lobbied for 5 years on this blog for Nigerian Manufactured MRAPS Nigerian Manufactured APCs When do we congratulate our own? We highlight and harshly criticize the NA which we rightly . But We can only make fun and in jest wish for BH to seize the equipment. The US lost equipment and Men to the Taliban SANDF lost equipment in the DRC. I know you meant it in jest but let us learn to praise our own. Nigeria has to start somewhere. We can't keep buying big foot and reva Nah wen we go get our own naw? |

fabselad: I've noticed how most times you always want to use wayo to insult Nigeria. These kind of people behave like friends but laugh behind your back and might even stab you on the back. If the almighty US with billions of dollars in defence funding and a military industrial complex as compared to non could loose FOB's, military equipment and men to the Taliban, then I don't know why you should be "not at the rate of Nigeria military lol". Is your country helping in funding for the equipment? 4 Likes |

blacKDalia: You remind me of the reason I left my last girlfriend, yoo much excuses, instead of trying to be better, we shouldn't be losing equipments to bht, i dont care what is happening to other armies , we are doing things wrong, that is why we losing equipments at these rate, with the amount of equipment we have lost to BHT in ten years, they will overrun Benin and Togo's army comfortably. 3 Likes |

Henry240:Henry.I wasn't responding to you .I was responding to Stephen. He seems to relish any bad news about Nigeria Any good news about Nigeria he suddenly keeps quiet. Somehow it ended up as a reply to your comments .I definitely didn't respond to your comments. |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by LTGEN: 2:34am On Jun 04, 2019 |
Stephendewardt Does not seem to respond when there is good news about Nigeria. Let there be bad news Let Premium times who only half the time gets the news right he is on it. His comments about not caring about other countries losing equipment are asinine. Because this is war every belligerent loses equipment that is fact regardless of competence or incompetence The US lost 2 Chinooks in a single operation to possible RPG from the Taliban Does that mean they don't fly anymore. I am thankful that Nigeria is now producing the ARA. If a military commander is competent he would know how to hold / repel a base It doesn't come down to Premium times reporting an elementary three pronged advance with their embellishing. They were not there. My point is incompetence can rear its ugly head at the FOB level regardless. But for him to insinuate Nigeria shouldn't manufacture its own equipment because it might be stolen is ludicrous..How many engagements have been repulsed by the NA on a daily basis ? That is not reported. How many times have we seen our boys stand up ? A setback is a a setback no bones about it. But his cavalier defeatist attitude is what he is made of . And no one gives a 's ads about his ex girlfriend who had enough sense to leave his sorry ads 2 Likes |

LTGEN: Are you not a simpleton? How does me, pointing out the fact make me a premium times advocate, I know your type of people, rather than face the hard truth you will give excuses and turn a blind eye instead of the required input to change the outcome positively , high service mongrel, it will interest you to know, I have paid my dues in the northeast, I have lost loved ones fighting there, I have friends that right after NDA, spent years in the north east, I have friends waking up screaming from sleep, I have friends that slept and woke up , strangling their wives, I have friends that cant sleep, unless they consume a bottle of cognac, then are backed out to bed, I have friends I grew up with and trained with still going to face this.....this will be and endless circle, unless status quo is changed.....but big idiot like you, that thinks he is the only patriot here, bloody bigot like you, patriotism isnt blind....... we are losing equipments at an alarming rate, who says I'm not happy about ARA? 3 Likes |

LTGEN:Stephandeswardt offers constructive criticism. There's nothing his comments that suggests he's comfortable with the current status quo. We can't be praise singers when the Nigerian army continues to perform below par. Boko-Haram, ISWAP and Ansaru have proven to be formidable enemies. It doesn't help that the Nigerian army keeps gifting them equipment. The Nigerian military is very strong, however it has performed below par. Thats not to say only the army is suspect like stephandeswardt would have us believe. The Navy suffered embarrassing defeats in Baga, the Air Force has also suffered defeats. However you can see that the Navy and Air Force have responded really well to these defeats unlike the Nigerian army. Army authorities need to think outside the box, employ independent mobile strike units, fire force troops. The army has the MSF but it seems they've let that unit collapse. 3 Likes |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by fabselad(m): 11:06am On Jun 04, 2019 |
blacKDalia: and you can't compare the looses the US has had with that of the NA.everytime the US has looses, it goes into deep relection and seeks solution to improve.but with the NA it's the complete opposite, they keep epeating the same stupid errors which cost lives of vibrant nigerian youths. those in command are not accountable and they don't learn for past mistakes. and if i may ask you how many FOB have been lost by the US to taliban. not up tp 2 and most were little FOB man by 10 to 30 personel. so stop looking for excuses by saying if it happens to other then why not nigeria. I laugh at your errors because it is repeatitif and it has made the NA to be a JOKE in africa.gone are those days when the NA was a force to reckon with. When there was a crises in Mali in 2012 if am not mistaken, in every news platform, people were looking up to the NA to spearhead the intervention against the islamist but today who speaks of the NA again to intervene in peace keeping operations. As someone said here earlier, the Nigerian Navy and the NAF both suffered looses to iswap and BH but thye have learnt rom their mistakes. But the the NA still keep making the same mistakes all the time. The Nigeiran defence budget is 1 billion dollar, thats more than some european countries but yet troops still complain of the same problems. Why should i not laugh or joke about it when the NA has become the shoping center for iswap due to the strong head nature of the NA top brass.if you are satisfied with the state of the NA sorry it's not my case. I am a Cameroonian and i love seeing a strong NA like in those days because a Strong NA means stability in the region . 3 Likes |

fabselad: The US is a standard every where and it's a yard stick. My take is that it has happened else where, why are you so keen on putting these to our faces. I laughed when I read "... I love seeing a strong NA...", guy, you are very far from the truth because of your prior posts. You seem to be happy if something goes wrong with the NA. It happens elsewhere is not an excuse, all I'm trying to tell you is keep your hypocrisy to yourself. It's not just you, I've noticed that with other people from other nations too. |
