If Piggery, poultry and fisheries can be a lucrative business in Igboland, I don't see why Cattle ranching won't succeed. It's time entrepreneurs key into this venture. I think it's time we put up a development commission in all interested eastern states to the development of livestock farming.

will it achieve the much needed peace btw farm owners n cattle readers?
Capital Yes. The Keyword Is "Ranches" Not Free Range Or Normadic. You Grow The Grass In The Ranch. A Confined Area Not People's Farm.

When supply is in excess then the price go cheap.. I believe supply will be excess if everything goes according to plan. There will also be a stiff competition with the fulani too.. Infact meat go cheap

You never read anything about the RUGA! You people are just the one plain stupid. it is a good idea but you people are problem, playing the ethnic card or religious card.. that is what i always killing nigeria.

Ttipsy:
Good, cows and other livestocks are to be ranched. privately owned or government sponsored on a legal land acquisition.

Not some persons sitting in Abuja trying to impose weird and barbaric policies to strategically grab lands from pipo

We all know how igbos ruin whatsoever business they venture in.
Re: Igbo Youths Declare Intention To Commence Cattle Rearing by Nobody: 11:04pm On Jul 05, 2019
Nop, Igbos can't do this business, from what I observe in thier mode of doing business. They prefer to dupe thier customers, meaning they will want to sell a cow of 150k for 700k. They like making dirty profits. which is very sad, cause d old generation igbos were usually doing the opposite.

P.S I dey suspect one patent medicine seller for my area, I think say the guy na dealer woh. But non of my business sha, NDLEA go nab am soon

Wise step.
This will surely remove/reduce the fsrmers-herders clashes as an igbo will not dare think of killing his/her kinsmen nor any tribe.
But expect lots of fight and resistance from the fulanis, they will sure come for the igbos.
I even see them escalating and possibly attacking igbos in the north as means of raging off anger and frustrations.

I knew it was just a matter of time. I just discussed the matter with my wife then stumbled on this thread. I fully support the idea. Buying cows from these Fulanis is indirectly sponsoring their expansion in your territories and your annihilation.

A very good idea that the Fulanis will start regreting. I remember vividly how Igbo business men crashed stock market that year Governor Peter Obi went to Onitsha main market to encourage them in buying shares.
If the enter this cattle business, Fulani cows will be cheaper than goat. The day I saw the quantity of meat from that local cow I was marvelled and the meat even taste much better than the Fulanis own.

What an irony, the reality is that once Igbo's start rearing cattle in the east, the effects will be good money and civil war, among Igbo's. For farmers & cattle rears will be at logger head.

The thing people dont realize yet is that igbos are already getting into cattle ranching business. I will like to use to use this opportunity to invite a fellow igbo who have been doing this business for years.

Re: Igbo Youths Declare Intention To Commence Cattle Rearing by Nobody: 11:26pm On Jul 05, 2019
Cattle rearing and grazing is different from animal fattening. You can do animal fattening from 1-10 cows and I can imagine the cost if feeding which will make u loose. And that's y grazing is 1000% times cheaper.
To rear just 200 cows,u need to graze the animals from 10-30Km of bush.
Can the ibo man trek for only 10km to graze cows?
