My car has been consuming so much fuel for since I got it. No code except ckp sensor which has since not shown up since I changed my battery terminals. However the extreme fuel consumption persist. Today I scanned and got the code P0420.

Please what's the code all about and what should be looked into?

2009 Honda Accord 4 plug.
I feel vibration and increased engine noise ONLY when I put the gear in reverse.
Suspecting engine mounts too
Is my suspicion likely or are there other possibilities and the likely cost sir.
Thanks greatly
Please still expecting your response on above.

I got mine for 70k with the sensor.. my car is Honda Accord 2008...it ranges from 65k to 80k... Without sensor should be around 40k or so... Check well before buying, some people will park iron net insid and tell you it's catalyst... Check problem, it should be intact and haven't been opened or recently welded..

Are you sure it’s a qualified mechanic or just one Lasisi the Carpenter.

Actually I ignorantly invited Lasisi the Carpenter u know what

After he was done the second day ND I paid him 4k for his own fees like he charged

U won't believe I went out that evening ND while coming back the sump he went to repair started leaking again I spent another #25,000 to buy TOKUNBO SUMP, NEW 5W-20 OIL AND PAID ANOTHER ORIGINAL MECHANIC WORKSHOP TO HELP FIX THR CAR... later I noticed he spoilt my ADJUSTER WITH THE NEW BELT I PAID HIM TO ALSO HELP ME CHANGE ...I HAD TO GET ANOTHER ADJUSTER AROUND 6K everything he touched ND repaired had new fault again afterwards

Just recovering from the mess the Lasisi I thought was carpenter caused

All this happened coz my initial Mechanic were busy when the issue started that was why I decided to try new hands and indeed May we not regret Cox in that case I regretted trying the yeye guy I just decided not to put up any case with him of course he has been begging me since then on Phone

You can simply get a liter of thinner and pour into your fuel tank, will give same effect. (Not a professional advice)

Best approach is to manually clean the nozzles.

Morning. Please I drive a Honda Accord 2004. Recently, i have been having issues with the gear. When the gear is on drive, it hesitates and revs before jerking forward, and I notice this is usually occurs between the GEAR 1-2 on the dashboard.

The issue actually started after I took my car for engine wash; then i noticed whenever i changed gears; either from drive to reverse or park, it jerks forward of backwards depending on the direction. I took it to my mechanic, he changed the gear switch and oil. The jerking during the gear change stopped, but the revving and jerking while accelerating didnt. Although, as soon as the speed increases to like 6okm/hr, or above gear2 sign on the dashboard, it doesnt occur anylonger. Until i slow down, and when i try to increase speed, it does so again.

I've tried two seperate mechanics, who have also tried changing the gear switch but problem still persists.

Do you have an idea what could be wrong?

Good morning house. I noticed a hard jerk/noise with my car immediately I push the gear to either revise or drive (D4). More so, the indicator light showing the selected gear, D4 in this case, continues to be blinking instead of remaining on. Finally, the gear selection is poor as I am noticing that gear one is not being selected owing to the fact that I have to push the trottle so hard to continue moving after a slow down. Please house, I just need your help or your guide on what to do. It's Honda and your reply is highly appreciated

Scan the car then post the codes here and stop changing switches..

Hello Sir,

If the engine is still in very good condition, I'd suggest you get Mobil 1 5W-30.

It is instructive to find out what engine oil the previous owner used, if it is a Nigerian used car. This information may help you to predict what to expect and/ or explain what you might experience concerning your engine performance over time.

Cheers

Good after noon to you all. Sorry for the little diversion.

I heard of a very small scanner without screen such that when slotted in the OBD port, it get connected to an Android phone via Bluetooth. With the android app downloaded via the Google Play Store, the phone can conduct the scan as needed and provide the codes if any.

I stand to be corrected and any idea on how such scanners will be made available will be highly appreciated. Please, you can reach me on 08034930205 either via Whatsapp or call if you have an idea on its availability. Accept my humble regards!

Good day, Honda Lovers.
I intend to upgrade from my present car BMW E46 to a 2008 Accord (evil spirit). I've always wanted to own an EOD due to it's ruggedness and beauty, but I'm presently in love with the 2008 Accord now.

My question is this, is the 2008 Accord as rugged as the EOD, what are the common fault that I'll expect and what the current price of the engine? I also see alot of Nigerian used 2008 Accord for sale on the internet, any reason for this?

Thanks as I await your response.
