To me prayer is a waste of time God's will won't change. If you pray before embarking on a journey it doesn't guarantee accident free journey. So why pray Where as u may not pray and get to your destination

It's more like admitting your self insufficiency to God.

Must all my wishes be attributed to God?

If you've ever asked your parents to give you food as a child when you were very hungry, or if you've ever reminded them of your school fees when they were the ones that put you in school, then I feel our heavenly Father expects same from us. Remember he gave Adam a wife and Adam used it against God.

Your parents aren't omniscient though, are they?

The people that created God made a huge mistake by making him omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

Great message you have here.

It is true that we are predestined by God but a lot is required of us to bring that calling into manifestation since there is always a contest and battle for the fulfilment of our purpose.

The birth of Jesus was predicted in the book of Isaiah. In spite being the son of God, a woman we rarely talk about in the Bible spent 84 years of her life praying and fasting in a temple for the manifestation of that prophecy. She was a prophetess, by the name Anna (Luke 2:36) [not the same Hannah, mother of Samuel in the old testament]

We rarely remember the efforts of people like Anna today. In fact, asides the birth process which of course Mary (whom some people have turned to idols) played a role, a lot do not understand key factors in the fulfilment of his Ministry on earth.

If a woman could do nothing for 84 years but fasting and praying consistently for the birth of the son of God, then we don't have any excuse why we shouldn't pray.

Nice Message Bro. The part you made mention of some people have turned Mother Mary Into Idols Let's just say deep down your heart you're not referring to the Catholics but just in case you're referring to the Catholics.

We don't Worship Mother Mary or turn her into an Idol but instead a Role Model. we're giving her the Honor she deserves of being the Mother of God, don't forget without her we wouldn't have gotten Salvation through Jesus. same way I'll respect & Honor the wonderful & Amazing Woman that Birth you is what we Catholics are doing to the Mother of God. Check this out without your Mother we wouldn't have read your post this Morning we gotta thank her for bringing you into this World. Talking about Idols Bro. they're just Intermediaries aiding our Prayers!

Good line of thought you got. She prayed until it happened in her own time. That's the power of persistent in prayer. I will try and remember this any time I'm tired of praying. Because when the answers delays, I feel discouraged. I'm experiencing that now.
No need mentioning Mother Mary here. She's not an idol and anyone who worship her have herself/himself to be blamed. This is a great topic and we should focus on what unites us.

Men are not robots. Men have will and emotions which God is not in control of . prayer is to.show that we genuinely need what asked of.

Many of.us won't buy biscuits or ice cream for.our kids until they ask. So.God too is like that.

Prayer to God is to instill faith in.us to remove fear in us because the fear of accident alone can lead us into accident. In all.things and in.every situation ,we must pray and we have to pray.

So, if Mother Anna hadn't fasted and prayed, Daddy Jesus wouldn't have been born?

If everything has been written down and predestined, why pray for something already written?
And those quoting if you have to ask your parents for school fees and feeding them you should ask God through prayers, but they forget rich kids don't need to ask before it is done. Some don't even know when their fees is being paid. Spirituality and religion is just complicated.

Thanks for the update! I have been thinking of asking my pastor about it

more question, why didnt he make everyone of us comfortable? why are some comfortable and some are not?

God knows devil is the root of all the evil on earth, why didnt he eliminate him at once? why is he waiting for the last day?

You must have heard Bible verses saying, ...and God remembered...You better pray so you'll continuously stay top of the mind of God.

I used to have this thought not to disturb God with my prayers since He knows everything about me. Sure God will protect you from mini dangers, but when it comes to things you want, you have to open your mouth and pray...persistently.

God will have your biscuit in His hand, and unless you ask for it, you won't have it. And let's not forget Daniel whose answers were held by the Prince of Persia for 21 days.

Your prayers strengthen the Angels bringing your answers to fight against the dark forces that try to stop them.

Religion as we grew up to know has been changing seriously. We now have religious leaders who are richer than some local governments and even states.
They attained these luxurious heights by telling us to pray and pay our dues as at when due. We faithfully do so thinking that our hard earned money must go to God thru our religious leaders.
The irony is we built beautiful religious houses with all sorts of electronic accessories possibly for the comfort of God. We pray harder while our religious leaders are leaving in heaven on earth. The masses have to pray harder to God.
The joke is, almost all materials and the luxurious items used were procured from countries that don't believe in prayers or even religion as a whole . Yes let's pray once more

Your prayer is for your benefit, not God's benefit. Although God knows everything and wants the best for His kids, there is an adversary whose main goal is to kill steal and destroy. Your prayer is your weapon in fighting this adversary.

What about the prayer of the killers too, like for example- God pls help us lets meet this man at home so we can kill him...

Let's not forget that Jesus Christ came for the unbelievers, the broken hearted, the sick, the poor, the weak, the low in heart. Not for the rich.

If we agree and do things the right way, we would pray less . All over the world where things are being done in a rightful way, they pray less and they have good result.

sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think prayer is a scam because if God is the alpha and omega as proclaimed why can't he delete all our life problems and worries like kapersky antivirus does to viruses? Why must me pray like fools every day? I feel like hating God sometimes sad

Because it's an illusion.
