Nwayo....nwayo...Lol..
My brother imagine the insult? as if there is no literate people in the community!

assuming without conceeding that the Governor meant well, why don't he start work in the 729 hecters already acquired and compensation paid for?

why dont he also start work on the additional 528 hecters already acquired even though the compensation has not been paid?

what they are rather trying to do is to take over another 600 hecters so that there will be enough land for him, his Aguleri brothers including the commissioner of works who is also from Aguleri to share.

they are doing it in connivance with some Awka politicians to rob the community off their lands thinking it will work

If you know these people, you will know they are notorious land grabbers. ask other boarder communities and they will tell you better.

It is either you are senseless or you have issues with reading comprehension.

Senator Stella Odua being the senator representing Anambra North in the Senate was one of those who stopped Obiano's evill plan.

it was further compounded by the clear message that Aguleri neither has the land needed nor the capacity to host an Airport judging from their swampy land.

I understand your pains, but I can assure you that this pain will continue. whether you and Obiano likes it or not, the Airport must be built in Umueri because that's the only viable place, the more reason it was moved from Oba to Umueri by Peter Obi.

and let me tell you straight. we are not begging Obiano to build it. if he doesn't, the next Governor will.

meanwhile, while you are here crying, your Aguleri brothers has failed in their bid to take over our lands.

the government has decided to heed to advice and maintain the original land given to them and stop the plans for land grabbing.

you can then cry me a river.
Soludo the next governor will continue the airport from where Obiano will stop. Don't get worked up over nothing.

don't mind the Ewu hausa from Igala

After Peter Obi had acquired the 729 hecters needed for the Airport which Unueri gave out willingly and singned the MoU.

Obiano came in and started land grabbing without developing the 729 hecters Peter Obi acquired.

he trickishly came and said he needed another 528 hecters which the community also gave. the next thing we saw again was that he started clearing and forcefully trying to take over another 600 hecters.

imagine the stealing trying to happen?

anyway the community is ready for him. but the truth is that as at today, the commissioner of works who happens to also be from Aguleri, Mr. Marcel Ejiofor is calling the community for meeting and has decided to go back to the original once given to government.

but we are still watching them because these people are notorious in land grabbing.
If Peter obi loved you people so much, he would have laid even one block on the airport site to show his seriousness. Aguleri is not your problem. If your people continue to disrupt the project, it would be moved to a more accommodating community. Igbariam has plenty land.

Why contradicting yourself young man. You sound so bitter.

Anyway when Obiano is done with his own airport.... airlines will also fly it same way they are doing so in Imo airport........so it is not a big deal.

You should leave this thread and carry your bitterness to other places....

Since Obiano has shown seriousness....make una leave the man and allow him do whatever he wants...haba..

Always quote me if you no dey fear. cheesy

Imo state is the poorest and most useless state in SE.

The economy of just Nnewi is bigger than that of Imo state.

Number of banks in Nnewi alone not to talk of Awka or Onitsha, are by far bigger than the ones in the whole of Imo state

IGR of just Ekwulobia and Ihiala is by far larger than that of whole Imo state. Forget the fake report okoroawusa was dishing out then.

Like I said before, Imo airport is a typical motor park , which means Imo state is yet to have an airport. Anambra is building real airport for SE region. The real SE international airport is the one ongoing in Anambra.

In education Anambra leads Imo state in all the external and internal exams and all the international academic competitions.

With all the noise, Owerri is still competing with Aba in bad roads and filth. All the town in Imo state are ravaged with bad roads, erosion and gullies.

Even in the next 1000yrs Imo state will not be able to produce the likes of Zik, Achebe, Ojukwu, Ekwueme, Soludo, Chimamanda etc.

Anambra leads Imo state in all positive endeavors, be it health, industrialisation, commerce, education, infrastructure, agriculture, etc.

Imolites are naturally prostitutes, armed robbers, kidnapped etc. Ritual killings started in Imo state- OTOKOTO. The only place Imo leads Anambra is commercial sex hawking and brothels.

In Imo state civil servants were owed for 2yrs , pensioners are owed for over 5yrs and till now it has not been paid.

There are millions of Imolites resident in Anambra, but there is no single Anambran resident anywhere near Imo state. Think about it.

Go to Onitsha, half of the population are Imolites that migrated from your cursed Imo state where things are not working. Have you seen anyone from Anambra living in Imo state? NO. Think deep about it. cheesy

Imo state is cursed

[s]just hear yourself. they should allow government to take over the whole community because benefit will come from the airport? I dont think you're in Nigeria because if you are you will not be talking like this. let me ask you, have you ever seen government keeping to there own side of agreement and have you ever seen any government in Nigeria obeying MOU they signed?

you want them to allow Obiano take over the whole of the community to build airport and after government will start telling them stories abi? To even think that Obiano has not develop the once Peter Obi acquired and he is looking for more raises a lot of suspicion. he actually has ulterior motive in that land[/s].
dtruth3:

[s]you are not addressing the issues. the point is why is Willie not developing the 729 and 528 hecters as mentioned? why is he trying to take another 600 hecters?

for what? and where will the indegens now farm?

I think this is land grabbing as alleged[/s]
onexile:
[s]I have been watching the responses and you people are only confirming the allegation that Obiano is out there to steal lands.

my question to you is, do you know the size of an average airport?

what is Obiano doing with all those hecters of land he is acquiring?

I may not be from that community, but I can imagine what is happening there now. everybody knows that governments are criminals. if you allow them they will end up taking over the whole community lands and share among political friends.[/s]

You clowns should stop blabbing and get proper information. Obiano wants to build an airport city not just an airport. The plan is bigger than just an airport, the umueri people should just reject the project entirely instead of telling govt how much land they can use for what govt wants to do there. They are many places that can accept the airport if umueri people rejects it. What is so special about umueri land that Obiano cant get anywhere he likes in Anambra as governor if he wants to landgrab. Read below:

Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano launched the Umueri Cargo Airport project on 11-Apr-2017. Mr Obiano said the 'Airport City Project' will be developed on a 1500 acre site and will feature two runways, an aviation fuel facility, aircraft maintenance facility, airport hotel, business park and international convention centre. The project is expected to generate 1200 direct and 3600 indirect jobs. The project is estimated to cost more than USD2 billion and will be developed through a partnership between the Anambra State Government, Orient Petroleum Resources and Elite International Investments. Elite International Investments will provide all funds under a build, operate, manage and transfer agreement. Anambra Airport City Infrastructure Limited allocated a 75% equity stake to Elite International Investments, 20% to Oreint Petroleum Resources Limited and 5% to the State Government.

Do you think Airport is something you can just wake up one day and start building anywhere you like?

even if Obiano wants to take it to Aguleri, does Aguleri have the land, is Aguleri viable?

you should be adressing the issue of trying to size the whole community lands. If Peter Obi in his wisdom acquired only 728 hecters, why is Obiano treppling it? for what purpose?
Peter Obi never acquired any land for the airport, the airport site has been in existence before Peter Obi and yet obiano is the one who wants to start building it. Peter Obi never had any plans to build any airport.
There are many places that the airport could be sited, Umueri is just being considered because of its closeness to Orient refinery. Oba airport site which was abandoned is still there, Igbariam which was the next best choice for citing the airport is still there. Even if Obiano decides not to do anything about the airport nothing will happen, the lands earmarked for the project will still waste like that of the Oba airport so the people should decide and tell us if they want the project or not. Here's an article to read to understand the history of this project.

Thank you for this exposé. Both obi and Obiano of APGA just scammed us with this airport project, same way PDP did with the Niger bridge and now apc government with the evils they labeled them are giving us tangible result on the bridge project... Did I just said tangible, yes!! Thanks to PDP government.

Who knows, maybe an Anambra apc governor might be the answer to over 4 decades of Anambra search for an international cargo airport which the government of asaba conceived and commissioned in 24 months. 2 years nkịtị. Arụ me.
