Happy new year to you all. Some years back, we usually make reviews of some satellite receivers here but not anymore. I urge you guys that we continue to reviews of satellite receivers as we did back in the days. We did enjoyed the review as we shared some info about them.

I would like someone that is using SRT 497S to make a review on the said decoder. How sensitive is the tuner? Is the tuner as bad as Tiger decoder? I dumped my Tiger receiver at the village and am stuck with SRT 4950H.
Any review on the above said receiver will be highly appreciated.

Tuner very very ok. You don't joke with strong decoders tuner. Decoder came with a year mytv free code to access mytv channels free for 1year on 16e. He 265 and multi stream with software.

I thought decoder reviewing is forbidden for here ?
As from my little experience .
In terms of graphics and jail breaking .
I will give it to d decoder that uses oca. But the buyer must be a satellites enthusiasm . Because it cost a fortune . It do wonders on fringe satellites and it worth every penny .

Follow by decoders with forever . Though nothing last forever . And d aforementioned decoders are mostly for bud users . They also auto roll biss and powervu channels.

But when you talk of signal stability . Old str stbs are 2nd to csat. They are not left out from bud usage also . Only that str is not willing to upgrade like others.

Though nasiru decoders are trying also. Because he wants to be eating in d same plate with mr forever.

Though all of this are explain in parables. But those who are in the game will understand.
I wish I could explain more than this. But d vuvuzela as one of my oga use to say are everywhere .
This are my little contribution to stbs .

Let me carry my body. And waka jejely

Good morning Mr Ismy 5000.
In the past, we reviewed decoders here but mostly the GUI (Graphic User Interface), how sensitive the tuner is, the physical appearance of the receiver etc. We don't normally expose the other dark side features of the receiver. We only say that a particular receiver is an iks receiver and we move on. For example, when Strong-technologies introduced SRT 4653X, the receiver was reviewed and compared with the older receivers that was available then like wise when SRT 4669X was introduced in the market.
Again, when Qsat receiver was introduced in the market, it was reviewed here, the GUI, tuner performance, physical appearance. The reviewers only mentioned that it is an iks receiver. But as days passed by, some folks reviewed the dark side of the Qsat which so many people was against it.
You see, am also against the reviewing of the dark side of some satellite receivers but I would want us to be reviewing the non incriminating features of receivers that is available in the market.

Yes,I don't see any reason why decoders shouldn't be talked about since the dark sides are not mentioned,I noticed that since they stopped talking about specifications and comparisons of decoders, this forum has been drought and dried. Let's revive this thread.

What's the essence of using a format that 99% of our decoders cannot view?

But from my view right now. Each decoder has an advantages over others. Some decoders are very good as per tuner wise,
While some are good for dark side
Some are good bud side .
Each decoder has advantages over the other .

Hello Mr Ismy5000.
What you wrote up there is true. Am not after dark side for now. It is always good to compare and review some satellite receivers here. If we have been comparing and reviewing some receiver here, it would have been easier for one to choose a better product that one desire. I want a receiver with HVEC, multistream, sensitive tuner and good GUI features. I don't know if SRT 497S, Hellobox V5+ has these features mentioned above.

This is good.

What type of LNB are you using?

Secondly, what the condition of the dish? Refurbished or bought brand new?

Yeah bro.
It is sold at that rate just because of the one year subscription for MYTv that is preloaded on the said receiver.
