I don't see a Levite priest in Nigeria... I don't see a tribe without inheritance. The 20k is barely enough for that neighbor or anyone to survive on during this unprecedented times. It makes no sense that if that neighbor still 'pays' 2k to his pastor and then turns around after a week to seek for financial assistance from others.

whether he pays 2k or not ,d money will still finish,if he pays his tithe,God will bless him,the later is a better deal if you ask me. If you pay your tithe you can be bold enough to ask God for help if you run into trouble but when you squander all your money,you would have your conscience to contend with when you need God's assistance in your finances.

But he shouldn't be paying any tithe if he's a Christian - Christ and His disciples never paid tithes neither did they instruct anyone to do so. However, he can give out of the 20k to anyone(the poor, less privileged, etc) if he likes.

Even in ordinary cause of doing business, we have earned and unearned incomes, only earned income are taxable unearned income such as charity, support from relatives and friends from overseas, philanthropic contributions are all untaxable. God blesses the works of our hands from where we're to pay a tenth to His storehouse, in this case I don't know which work anyone did that they are being paid, please don't encourage begging because some people will think begging and earning money in the process and paying tithe from it is an occupation to rely on.
