Hello and 'welcome' to Nairaland

I understand there are some countries that have restrictions on how their nationals can make payments online. In Nigeria, anyone with a bank account can have a visa or master card. With these cards, Nigerians are able to make payments on foreign websites(dollar payments).

How does this work in Kenya ?

I will appreciate more details on how the payment process work in Kenya.

Most Kenyans prefer mobile money and when online Paypal and Skrill since you can move money to mobile money platforms.

Not everyone has a bank account as most work in the informal sector. They prefer using mobile money payments MPesa and Airtel Money as it is faster and cheaper and secure.

So how would a resident of Kenya pay for items on Amazon or a domain name with Hostgator, they don't have PayPal options.

Will appreciate more details.

Very few people do online shopping to Amazon due to the taxes paid.

We have Jumia and Killmall where we pay with mobile money.

We do like football only that our football federation is corrupt and local leagues involved in match fixing and favoritism.

Big fans of international football

same with nigeria but here it's only 3 tribes that is in positions and has big businesses.

I think you are confused about my question, I mean how is nigerian criminals in Kenya identified? Do they know them by tribes?

For example in South Africa, they can differentiate between an Igbo person and a yoruba
Not that I know of. A naija guy is a naija guy to us. We don't know them by tribe or features.

Also Naigerians here are low key. Stay in their rooms and go about their business in pairs and dont socialise alot ,unless when going to bars. Coz when they scam they get beaten up really bad.

But criminals get caught one way or the other and get deported.
