Davash222: Don’t mind me. A lot of them are like that, the ones in government schools are the worst. Most people that taught during NYSC can relate to your experience. |

Wow!!! Lots of saints on Nairaland. Would you people do the same thing if you see correct money on the table, and knowing that you'll never get a caught? That is when I can believe your sincerity, no be ontop primary school or WAEC expo runs where you are afraid you might be caught. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Davash222:That's heroic however, there is no karma. Good people mostly do not get rewarded and bad people mostly do not get punished. The only reward you get for doing good in this world is self fulfillment of knowing you did the right thing. Always do the right thing even if no one Knows, you will always know 9 Likes 1 Share |

This happened during my 4th year. We had this lecturer who likes to joke a lot during classes but end up spending 20mins teaching the course. There was a day i was in his office , I don't know why I was there in the first place but there were two male students with him. I guess helping out in marking his exam scripts. He then said something out his course which I was taking. "The highest score is 75, an A by (he mentioned the guy name) who happened to be my close gee. After I left his office I told my friend when I got to the hostel that he was the highest scorer in the man's course. Days later the results were pasted on the board. My guy mark was a C. Haba! He was furious! He was one the intelligent guys in our class. He decided to go to the lecturer to demand his script. You know how this thing is in the university, it was very risky. He saw the lecturer and in no time I was called to bear witness to what I heard and what I told my friend. This was a very risky game. My friend was ready to go to senate for this. What about me? If I told him i was there when he made that statement that the highest scorer was my guy, then it means he is lying and might turn out to be serious in the department. Mhen it was a dilemma for me. I can be penciled and never to graduate in the courses he takes. I don't know what came over me but I summoned courage and went to his office. He asked me what I told my friend, and I replied him, telling him what he said and even the students that were assisting him to mark. I stood by what I heard him say. Las las my guy grade remained at C. I don't know what happened but the lecturer didn't set me up or victimized me. 12 Likes |

Kudos to you OP, I did lose a job because I wanted to do the right thing. That was when I realized the world punishes the good and promotes the dishonest. It can be painful but knowing the fact you pleased God, your conscience is clear gives relief. 4 Likes |

I remembered one case, around 2013 when I was handling a sensitive course for final year students. I personally usually made my course ridiculously easy so as to avoid these kind of rubbish. Fast forward to after their exams, that was when the deputy HOD called me and gave me 3 lists, the first one was the faculty list, second one was the HOD's list and the last, his own personal list. Luckily for me, been that the exam was ridiculously easy majority of those in the list passed my course without any assistance except for one girl like that. Merely seeing her you will know she is a runs girl because I had even caught her at night bribing the school security official at night while smuggling out of the school. When I checked her script, I saw she scored 9/70 in exam and her CA was around 10/30. I then told the deputy HOD that his request wasn't possible because even if I gave the girl 30/30 in CA (which is suspicious), 30 plus 9 is still 39 which is still F, and remember in tertiary institutions you don't keep exam scripts rather you return to the school hence cannot be easily manipulated because in future it can be vetted. Long story short, the man insisted I gave her at least C which I declined and that created bad blood between us. Its point of note that this man in now the HOD so you can imagine the rest of the story.....!!!! 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Eberex: he was protecting his Integrity, thereby avoiding a scandal. remember you were the one marking the scripts. if he had awarded an A to you friend, jealous course mates would have said you were partial in marking by scoring your friend high marks. you are lucky though that he didn't set you up. 2 Likes |
