Best way to avoid people silently labelling you a fool and a disreputable character in their heads is to never disparage your homeland before them but instead adopt the attitude that you travel for business, to experience how others live, for work, better quality of life etc. Never, ever heap insult on your motherland, this attitude impresses no one, gives you no brownie-points, does not improve your immigration status and will not solicit sympathy from the foreigner whose country you degrading yourself and homeland is a niggardly attempt at pleasing.

No one trusts a traitor.

Truer words have never been spoken.

that is y re still hear, poor mentality,
if you have your business and atleast upto 50m in your saving nigeria is the best place to stay in the world
as long you did not drag wahala of politics, religion to yourself
u re good to stay here peaceful nd enjoy ur life to d fulness
my boss can testify to it
I am still wondering how #50m is enough to enjoy life to the full in Nigeria.
It can’t build 12 flats for rent
On fixed deposit, the most you would get per annum is #3m which is barely 250k a month.
So how do you mange life with such amount if you decide not to hustle anymore?

We should remember that some Nigerians travelled to various countries around the globe for business or other purposes before the outbreak of coro. They never intended to stay back in those countries because they have business and/or family ties in Nigeria that require attention. The returnees are not those who are habitual residents, but Nigerians who travelled and intended to return home, but were stranded abroad. Not every Nigerian wants to live abroad and no one hustling in America will like to come back.

You too get sense grin grin

It’s better for them. If they have papers they can always go back after covid. The ones without papers will not dare to come.

This is a typical case of 'no place like home'. Yes we have terrible and selfish leaders who have continuously failed us but that shouldn't be a reason to call our dear country a shithole or any of those foul names. Every country is prioritising covid-19 treatment for their citizens, so in order to have a chance at survive these Nigerians have opted to come back home. Hmmm some of these people must have called Nigeria shithole like some ignorant ones on NL. Now the shithole is the strong tower y'all are running to for safety. Be careful what you say people.

People that never missed home when they are abroad, then definitely their state of living in Nigeria is very bad
Not True again brov. I’m from a middle class family and lived decent here. The UK is undoubtedly a better country and to me as long as you keep in touch with your loved ones frequently there is not much to miss about Nigeria as a country.

But again it is subjective. That’s why I avoid blanket statements like “ever Nigerian abroad is home sick” Some people like the country more than others. Everyone is different.

I knew a girl that went this same south Africa you mention, sold all her shop here in Nigeria to finance the movement but came back with nothing,it take a grace of God to be successful with genue work there, that is the reason they have highest number of Nigerian in their prison. I pray, one day you will go there and comeback to feed us your experience
I don’t like South Africa personally and don’t really have any intention of ever going there. But some Nigerians go there and live comfortably. Others go there and have bad experiences. Everyone’s life is different. That’s why it is wrong to assume every Nigerian abroad misses home.

I have other friends and family members abroad, (particularly those in the states are notorious for this) they have been away for over a decade and never returned home once for a visit even though we know they have the funds and documents to do so. No way you can tell me those ones are home sick.

They are not mad. From all indices at the moment Nigeria is safer than US. Besides most may be Nigerian residents who visited US before the current crisis

With a death of about 1500 in a day in US, it must have been a very tough decision for them.

The irony is that even with the current situation of things in the US, some people wouldn't even blink twice before jumping on the next available flight should they have the opportunity.

True...
Re: 160 Nigerians Evacuated From United States Arrive Abuja by planetx: 2:10pm On May 10, 2020
Ignorant comments everywhere from people that have never flown from Lagos to Abuja or vice versa criticizing people that decided coming back to Nigeria from the US is a better option. Keep on believing there is some Eldorado out there in this world, the same America that is about to experience the 1930's style great depression.

Most of them went for a visit but because of the lockdown they found difficult to come back, the main people that went there for hustle will never try to enter that plane no matter what.
