bigpriik: I'm not criticizing igbo or abusing any tribe. Reae with an open mind before making sectional and tribal indulting responses. .igbo people like Kano men (Dangote, BUA etc al). When there are riots, for example, they burn igbo shops and before they return they start doing the same business around the same area. Hence the Ghana example |

Remakable how this thread turned into a question of if the South East will succeed. OP, the question of which area will succeed if Nigeria will break up is not necessary. What matters is that everybody will survive, we all survived when there was no Nigeria The people will do well are those who have vision, capacity and foresight. No amount of Oil and gas will make people without these qualities to go far. 7 Likes 1 Share |

How come so many people think being landlocked means that a country cannot do well? Ethiopia is doing very well despite being landlocked, Ethiopian Air is the largest aviation power in Africa. Botswana is the largest exporter of meat and livestock in Africa despite being landlocked. Its all about what is inside you as a people 5 Likes 1 Share |

Fact is like Paraguay like south east he have access to sea by 3 Rivers ...ibom , imo n Niger Rivers .....any attempt to deprive igbos access to the ocean via those Rivers is a call for war Personally I don't think south south hate igbos that much to want to intentionally wicked igbos ...but if they do we would be ready |

Obdk: Look my friend, it is purely an argument of socio-economic wellbeing and potentials. You guys should stop this show of sentiments you put up merely because you are indoctrinated to compete with Yorubas over everything. Yorubas are not forcing anyone to join us as Igbos do. I am telling you they will willingly want to join us because the socio-economic advantages for doing so are too good to reject. Forget this internet d1ck comparison thingy you little kids do. SW is not the mate of any other region in Nigeria. If the time comes the Edos would make a purely logical decision based on who/what bests support their socio-economic interest and future expectations. The Edos will never go with Biafra as they understand the intolerant and discriminatory Igbos enough to know they would be no better than Osus in an Igbo nation. Political and social leadership they would be 100% frozen out of. Nothing at all to attract the Edos to Biafra. They might contemplate Niger Delta or SS union but it is the SW logical Edos would settle on because they already get on well with the Yorubas and have a long and amiable affiliation with them. Edos in the SW already know how liberal and tolerant the Yorubas are with every Nigerian empowered and accomodated graciously in Yoruba States. Opportunities abound in the SW for professional and personal development more than anywhere else so go figure. Read below and everyone should check the analysis for their respective regions. The South West economy is first of all economies in Nigeria at everything. Bear in mind the report below excludes newer development like Dangote refinery, Lekki FTZ, planned Lekki international airport, infrastructural gains across the SW, increasing industrialisation in Ogun, Ondo etc, etc, etc. http://www.gamji.com/article6000/NEWS7879.htm South West Economy 2 Likes |

joyandfaith: This is true and I think it is intellectually lazy to write off the chances of the SE because it is a "landlocked" region. In the modern age, that is not really a socio-economic or developmental deal breaker. The SE may fail to thrive for many reasons which are not my business to analyse or point out but it is analytically pedestrian to suggest an Igbo nation will not succeed because it is landlocked. We have many examples of landlocked nations making great developmental strides so it is redundant to state, as if a fact, this will be the bane of an Igbo nation. |

muykem: Mumu, Switzerland is landlocked. Is ur sea-side Nigeria doing better than her? The most important natural resource u need to develop is ur brain not water or even crude oil, gold or diamond. This is why Germany with no single natural resource is the richest country in the whole of Europe. |
