Alpha Beta Consulting LP was given the monopoly to collect Lagos State taxes and collect a 10% commission without any open bidding in 2002. We now know why according to former Managing Director,Dapo Apara, why there was no open bidding for the contract. According to court documents filed before the Lagos High Court, Dapo Apara, alleged the former Lagos Governor,Bola Tinubu, demanded that 70 per cent equity interest in the project be assigned to a Olumide Ogunmola - 40 per cent, Adegboyega Oyetola - 30 per cent the current governor of Osun state.

Prior to the contract award, Alpha Beta Consulting LP had no prior experience in collecting taxes on behalf of any any state government and was incorporated in the year 2002, when it received the exclusive contract to collect Lagos state taxes.

If an open and competitive bidding process was done, the contract would likely have been won by EY,KPMG,Deloitte or PWC for a much smaller commission in the range of 1%-3%.

Alternatively, the Lagos state government could have poached the Tax Partners and Senior Tax Manager's in one of the big 4 accounting firms:KPMG,EY,PWC or Deloitte into the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service(LIRS) and made them in charge of leading the increase in internal generated revenue at a much cheaper cost.

grin my problem is why would a private firm collect tax for a very rich state like Lagos, when the state could do that themselves if not for greediness.
Now alpha criminal has made Lagos generate much less than expected by the real lagosians not the tinubuist immigrant.
The corruption in Lagos state is at its peak and no one is ready to do anything about it because those that should be responsible for disciplinary action are busy ass licking Mr tinubu.
My grandfather of blessed memory was a staunch supporter of tinubu. They get up to a million whenever APC is about contesting . I just look at my grampa like "na Una generation destroy this country "
How would a sitting governor decide the interest rate of a private company for a state he governs. Meanwhile his family members are share holders in the company.
Any kabiesi in Lagos today from epe/Lagos island/ ikorodu/ badagry division that don't see this as a big problem to the general growth of the state is a disgrace to us.
Tinubu must return all what he looted.
Just go down to epe and see aiye toro market , mojoda market and many inter road crying for attention. Go to badagry , they've turned that place to village. A place that should be tourist center for black Americans who want to know their root.
EFCC should do their job immediately.

All that was required was to recruit staff from the big 4 Accounting firms and integrate them into Lagos Internal Revenue Service(LIRS), as a Chartered Accountant he knew that.

Instead he went to recruit a private firm at 10% commission, which is unheard of anywhere in the world to collect taxes on behalf of the state.

Those people you mentioned are enemies of Lagos state. Even my APC brothers are not happy with tinubu leadership style.
Lagos island protested tinubu should stop appointing local government chairmen for them. I'm not against anyone taking any position in Lagos but this one greediness is second to none.
Shame on his foolishness.
What so ever has beginning would also have end.

It shows signs of mental illness having this level of greed, after giving yourself a multi-billion naira life pension.

They don’t steal have enough to sustain themselves. Most will already have enough for two lifetimes even before they come to power

They steal to build and sustain influence and power indefinitely. To run for office in future, to sponsor politicians, to influence leaders etc. They steal to sustain as much of the power they will surrender at end of term. That’s what makes the scale of their corruption unforgivable

This type of corruption is truly unforgiveable. He gave himself the best life pension even former Presidents of USA and Prime Minister's of Canada don't enjoy.

Lagos state provides him
:
-6 new cars of his choice every 3 years
-Healthcare for himself and his family in any country of his choice
-House in Lagos and Abuja in any area of his choice
-Security
-Domestic staff
-Generous pension

He acquired the stupendous wealth to became a godfather and be to one to appoint on Local Goverment Chairman,House of Assembly members,Senators,House of Representatives members at the expense of Lagosians welfare.
