Nigerians would rather complain than lift a finger to help themselves. Land border was closed to boost local production and reduce foreign competition, rather than take advantage of it, Nigerians folded their hands and were expecting miracles to produce their food for them.

We are a peculiar people if you ask me
Absolutely false!!
So many people moved into farming rice after the closure.
The problems were first of all banditry and then flooding. As we speak now, many farmers along the river Niger which is the most fertile plains in Nigeria are wailing their losses.

And what has been the effect and advantage of the closure? Has it reduced the price of rice and order commodities smuggled across the boarder? Has it also stopped goods being smuggled into Nigeria? Capital NO, clueless useless government

Seemed like a blessing when it was closed, never knew they had other motives... They closed our borders and opened there own
you are right. Most Nigerians taught it will be a blessing but the motive has been defeated especially by those ingrate given money to produce rice for the masses but turned it to their favour. Buari suppose to collect the money back from them by fire by force.

What about you?
What do you feel as a concerned Nigerian who felt the effect of the closure
It opened my eyes to other opportunities especially in rice production which I have invested heavily in.

After you guys have thrown Nigeria into recession with stupid policies, combined with covid-19, over reliance on crude oil etc. European union was formed to forge better economic ties, didn't they have borders before coming together.

Stupid policies that caused tin tomatoes, cement, rice to keep sky rocketing.

A BAD head is the worst thing that can happen to anyone.

After they have cut Yorubas from seeing their brothers for close to 5
years while they enjoy uninterrupted romance with their brothers from
the sand nations of Chad and Niger.
Think about this, if the border to the North is equally closed like that of
yoruba axis, how will they manage to construct the railway to Niger
and import petrol from there?
Think. Nothing was closed in the North.
As for the reduction of imported car tax to 5 percent. It was just a
scheme to punish Benin Republic for outlawing the migration of
Fulanis to Benin Republic. Something Benin Republic did a month ago.
It was never targeted at Ndigbo and Innoson. Ndigbo were just
collateral damage.
Yorubas una see una lives?
You cheapen some of your reasonable points by being pathetically tribalistic.
