I don't know how true this is, I will make findings myself. I only find out that cars with Corolla engines do need warming up. No findings yet on new generation of cars, while I am so sure there are improvements in auto tech day by day, e.g Tesla Meanwhile with just 3k, I will design a premium 3D logo and hyper realistic designs for your brands.

In my opinion a car that has been sitting idle for at least 5 days in cold weather needs to be warmed up irrespective of whether it is an old or modern car |

I honestly do not think it's necessary for modern cars. Check my signature if you have a car. It might interest you |

You want your newer model car to last longer? Let it run idle at least for 30 seconds before you drive off. How do you feel at any age as a person when someone just wakes you up from sleep and beat you around to chores? The sluggishness, the annoyance, the loss of power early : despite the adult strenght in you, u may still fail because you are not mentally warmed up or prepared? That's how cars feel too and worse cos they can't even refuse the push. 3 Likes 1 Share |

It's called steaming though most people uses the word warm. It's good to steam car before we set it out on a drive. 2 Likes 1 Share |

GreaterFuture: only old cars with carburetors need warming up. modern cars with ECUs adjust the fuel air ratio as needed. You are very unlikely to be driving a car in 2020 that needs warming up. if you are driving such a car e.g 504, your problems are bigger than your car and you should drive yourself to holy Ghost retreat for deliverance!!! 5 Likes |

Depends on the car itself but what is most significant is for now long it has been parked. A relatively new, everyday driven car needs no warm up while one hardly driven one may require a service before turning the ignition. |

seyiojomu: Bros who told you that? , modern cars warm up faster when you drive immediately after starting. Just don't do fast and the furious till the car reaches operating temperature 3 Likes 1 Share |

Depends on the type of vehicle, your location and how often you use the vehicle . Most modern automatic cars don't need it if you drive the car often . If you live in a very cold area, you will need to start the vehicle and let it run for a while every now and then especially in the morning even when you don't intend on driving it out. |

HenryWilliams:While it doesn't remove much from the engine, keeping a car idle (warming) has been shown to consume more fuel and leads to poorer fuel efficiency when the car is in motion. It also contributes more to global warming. |

Your so called modern vehicles do need warming. When you turn your key into the Accessories position wait a few seconds for the vehicle to do a self diagnostic check. This usually comes in the form 3 pings or beeps , once that's done you now start the vehicle. Once started , notice the engine will rev itself in my vehicle if you look at the Tachometer you'll see the engine speed indicator showing 2500- 3000 rev/minute. After a minute or two the engine speed will gradually reduce until it rests stably at 1000 rev/ minute. This is the point at which you can drive off. So the answer to your question is Yes. Just that in most cases you should " allow " your vehicle to do the honors. Don't just start your and drive off, permit your onboard car computer to self diagnose and warm-up the car for you. 4 Likes |
