don't forget her 6month salary account too (even if it got 0 naira balance) /tax clearance/payslips - All teachers got this.

Tfree: Hi everyone,

Please i need advice about my Mum's UK VISA Application. My husband invited my mum to visit us as we just had a baby. My husband is also sponsoring her. We gave her a copy of my husband's British passport data page, invitation letter, 6months of our joint bank account statement, landline bill as proof of address.
She picked up her application package today and was declined. Reason - Satisfied that her sponsor can cover her traveling expenses, but not satisfied that she is a genuine visitor to the UK as there is no evidence to substantiate her claim income. She is a Teacher and earns N90,000 a month. She submitted everything including letter from LGEA, her headmaster, landed property and house document, NUT ID Card, family pictures with my sibling and parents except her bank statement. She was aware she needed to submit it and had 6months statement printed out but my dad packaged the documents and didn't put the bank statement in (sabotage, because I'm inviting my mother first, and not him, anyway that's a story for another day). She realised she didn't submit the bank statement after she left the application centre. She couriered it to the embassy, but got a reply that they are unable to consider the document as it should have been submitted with her application.

My question is what's the way forward. When can she re-apply. My uncle is advising to wait for 6months to avoid coming across as desperate. I dont have a problem with waiting 6months, but what other documents should we add next time we are re-applying for her.

Thanks

Thanks Boss! but thats the only option(Student) i got and a good travel history to other 3 countries apart from the UK 2x ..
Vicjustice: By the way, how logical is it to use your education which will be over in 2 months time as a Home-Tie in relation to a 2 years tourist visa?
Your travel history is encouraging, but you might be having a hard time satisfying the visa officer that you have something to return to Nigeria for.

justwise:

We have stated this many times before here that getting a visa as a matured student is difficult, you don't have strong tie to Nigeria, you can't use your parents sponsorship as a tie to Nigeria as an adult.

You can't reapply if your condition hasn't changed, do you have personal income now?

@justwise...I was refused earlier this month asking me for my personal income (STUDENT), I informed our family lawyer and he's supporting the new application with some reasons relating to the refusal notice. Previous application was for 3weeks visit. My school will be resuming back 21st of January 2013, I wish to re-apply for a 10days visit now due to my school resumption date.Do i need to get a new IV from my uncle inviting me stating 10days? and also i have no source of INCOME as a student does this automatically disqualify me from visiting the my Uncle...Please Advise.

Season Greetings..

Thanks @justwise what can i do now? sad sad

justwise:

You don't have strong tie to Nigeria, yes you are a student but we all know how unreliable school system is in Nigeria, you don't have your personal source of income as an adult, you can't use your parent's money as a tie to Nigeria.

@justwise / @vicjustice

Please, Is it compulsory as a 23 yr 400level Student of Unilag in Nigeria applying for a family visit to have employment or personal source of income apart from the allowance from parents?? Because i found it very difficult to believe I was refused based on that ground. I provided parents statement, tax clearance, consent letter,(they will be taken care of the travel expense) letter from sch, i.d card, Uncle residential permit, passport page, invitation letter (email conversations n Ms word).

Please assist on what to do!
