Too late for getting paid for propaganda, the other name for the truth is the actual event or reality. These have already been established. The whole world press cannot be fooled by lies and propaganda, world powers condemning the shootings already did their forensics for evidence of Photoshop before making pronouncements. It is bad to be too desperate. |

Politics / Arise O! Youths, Please Let's Retreat! by swintiney: 1:57am On Oct 22, 2020 |
Arise fellow youths, it's time to retreat! let's retreat. two wrongs cannot make a right. The anger across the country cannot do much to resolve the issues. Let's live to fight another day, better still let the battle field be situated in our minds towards birthing a paradigm shift in our nation using the power of voting com 2023. We have fought a good fight, but we can do better with that tiny piece of voters card only if we STOP! now. I can see that the youths are no longer afraid of being shot, yes we aren't but let's reserve this strength for 2023 which is almost around the corners. As for the shooting, the world has seen and noted their cowardice, further spilling of blood is honestly not worth it, no one's blood is worth being spilled as the justification for the struggle in the first place is for a better life. Let's reconvened at the ballot in 2023 and work together to courageously change the country's leadership so that we can even have a better future as against dying from trigger happy soldiers and policemen who are unable to defend us but will rather shoot at us without provocation, yet earn their next pay from the taxes of our hard earned income. Let's retreat for safety, not because we are afraid of dying but because they have shown us that we're in the wrong hands and that is why they cannot see anything wrong in shooting at defenseless citizens even when they sang the national anthem and bore the Nigerian flag in their hands, what a shame! Let's focus on the voters card and ballot box come 2023 for it is indeed stronger than the weapons and lies used by the blood tasty cowards of #lekkimassacre The world has seen the evil done to armless youths on Tuesday, let's retreat for some other day, let the next step be to fully get involved in next election using this same strength to ward off election rapists parading themselves as politicians Let's not ruin our cities by burning our hard earned infrastructures, and other benefits of the taxes we pay. Finally, let's be strong and detribalised, althrough this whole protest, our ethnicity has remained "Nigeria", our origin "Nigeria" and you will notice the level of synergy across the country and diaspora, let's not give room for their usual tribal gimmick, as this peaceful protest has revealed to us what we stand to achieve if only we keep working together till 2023. Arise o youth, let us retreat for 2023. |

Nannies and helps have destroyed a lot of children, some children will remain social deviants for the rest of their lives as a result, it all depends on each family. Think through, try to look at the flip side and then decide. Summary is that there is no such thing like housewife. If the woman sacrifices to stay at home for sometime pending when the children grows up a bit, that means she'll most likely be occupied with moulding her children. I know in the UK, at least one of the parents have to be at home per time because of the young child(ren)... It all depends on what works for you. The pastor's way of qualifying the situation is insensitive and may end up destroying homes than building them. Nuttella: 2 Likes |

I totally agree with you. That commend was a loosed one. It totally undermines couple's mutual agreement and even a wife's preference to do so for their Children's upbringing. We should try to balance our thoughts and opinions as every issue will always have a "two side of the coin". prophetfire: |

bdek: The side where the ABS is located caught fire from the picture. In SA model, the ABS is located somewhere under the brake master cylinder, left side of the servo. The defect is around the inner electronic components of the ABS, mine of same model almost caught fire last year, I had to replace the ABS with the American model. I was lucky it occurred during the day time when people were around. My wife parked the car around 2pm and went into the house, thereafter between 5 to 6pm, neighbors called her attention to the smoking car, when she arrived with the key, smoke truely had covered the car, she was so confused, a neighbor around removed one of the battery terminals after she managed to open the bonet and that saved the car from getting burnt. I recalled a mechanic warned me about this issue with the SA spec but i thought it wasn't true as it actually didn't make sense to me then until it happened to my car. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Eteka1:Honestly your explanation makes sense, but some things left me wondering, how come the various claims have not also claimed casualty(ies) of death or injuries, or are we saying that the occupants of the truck escaped unhurt? What about at least a single piece of metal indicating a truck wreckage? That it occurred in the middle of the road is not an excuse as this solely depends on the intent of the perpetrator if claims turns out to be false. |

ikelords: You still don't get the point. I repeat that no ethnicity in this country is that miserable so to say. A truth about life is that you are more likely to attract the kind of person you are. I can bet you, I have stayed in Lagos for close to 15yrs, i am not from SW, people say all sort of things about them but my best of trusted friends are from SW. Have I gotten my fingers terribly burnt before by south westerners? I would say yes, but that does not label a Yoruba man from certain area as bad; Same way I may not have been fair to everyone i have come across because I wouldn't say I am perfect. People directly from or related to Ngwaland have spoken out and have defended the allegations but I think that's not as important as letting you know that a change of mindset is expedient, otherwise you may relocate to other places or even your own village and complain bitterly calling them names just as some Ibos cry "they hate Igbos" today. |

ikelords: It's high time we start reasoning well in this country, this is the type of mindset that has put us in this trouble called Nigeria. Very soon 2023 elections will be around the corners and people like you will flood Nairaland with various kinds of discrimination against well qualified candidates in the name of ethnicity and religion, and when it is time for harvest, you'll come back to the travel section of this same forum to start asking for Canada or Australia migration prayers. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong with any ethnic group(s) in this country. People should be dealt with as who they are and not be blacklisted based on the actions of people who are/were not accountable to the victims of these recurring discriminations. |

fernandoc: I believe you, Nigerians can tell strange unconfirmed stories and make it look so real, I have travelled to many places in Nigeria including even interiors of SE and SW. When I visited some African countries, I also made discoveries of strange but extreme traditions especially when I ask for permissions to visit cultural sites. Apart from conflict, ritual killings and great wickedness currently experienced across the country and the world, which you'll agree is not particular to any ethnicity, I have not heard of a place or people that officially endorses humans to be killed not to talk of eating the remains. Even the Sentinel Island whose occupants are so crude and officially kills humans do not eat them. I know that Ngwa land begins from around Aba along the Enugu - PH express road and extends to a location just before Umuahia. The Abia state NYSC orientation camp is also in that place. Please those who have lived or lives in Aba or had their orientation camp/served there should confirm if these stories are true. Please let's be very objective and conscious of the impact false contributions would have so we don't mislead people. @OP, as the guy I quoted rightly indicated, the marriage rites you go through reflects the values of the immediate family of your proposed in-laws, the whole of Africa is deeply diabolical hence it cannot be used as a yardstick to judge any group of people. However you and your fiancée are free to break away from these extreme culture when you get married so you don't demand same rites from your future in-laws when the time comes. 3 Likes |

The unfortunate thing in all these is that most of the people we voted for do not have the capacity to address the contemporary issues. We will keep reacting to pains till 2023 when we will swing to religion and tribalism at the ballot again and thereafter the numerous issues wouldn't change. All the reasonable candidates with the potentials to move the country forward were all blackmailed of not having a platform, today every changing page of this forum have one form of agony or the other. I hear people say look for money and migrate and I smile because I know it takes a right decision at the ballot to correct most of our problems. Travelling or not will never address our problems. The fact is that we cannot all migrate, so that leaves us with the option to think differently and vote wisely, else the status quo would continue. 1 Like |

As a matter fact, he is the cleanest Nigerian currently in the corridors of power. A man with impeccable character who is capable of neutralising tribalism and religious sentiments when opportuned to mediate on conflict. |

We have to stop this tribal war! Nigeria is fast being destroyed and those destroying the country all have their Children in world class universities or already settled abroad, apart from milking the country which is the only thing they stand to gain, they don't believe in this country. I expect this to be analysed in the most appropriate manners that puts shame to ignorance, rather what I see here is Ibos and Yorubas at it again. If this country finally gets destroyed, the southern Ibo and Yoruba youths should hold themselves responsible as they have proven estreme competence in being ignorant and foolish. Keep fighting, dying of poverty and hoping that this country will upturn by luck and let the political, ethnic and religious misfits ruin and destroy both our present and future while we are affirm our incapacity to ask questions that checks the situation. It is estremely impossible for youths like ours to solve issues of a complex country like ours. Our hateful and bitter nature is a repellant of good tidings, it is a shame. 1 Like |

Nigerian government is practicing comedy as a service (CAAS) and consistently ridiculing us because the people don't understand the consequence of sentimental voting while the politicians take advantage of Govt weak institutions to short-change the masses. The truth is that there is a serious leadership deficit in Nigeria and Africa as only a handful of our politicians even understand public service |

History repeats itself overtime, this also happened between Ibori and PTI students in 2002, and OBJ vs Unizik students in year 2000. Nigerian leaders' body language says 'carry on' on crimes originating from it's officials and stooge. AK-47 has long replaced common sense and dialogue, the result is increased emergence of insurgents in their clusters in more numbers than what we are currently experiencing. Leaders and law enforcement agencies were once students and will agree that their old selves would have equally deviated if in same situation during their university days. I actually think students protest is easy to nip in the bud than other civil protest, the secret is - align with them, sing their solidarity song and then listen to them, you don't need to commit anything aside from investigation the situation which is power issue in this case. However you don't confront students with security agencies before attempting to address them else the result would be outright breakdown of law and order. Students and youths in Nigeria dislike law enforcement agents especially in their gathering. I hope we'll utilize the lessons learnt and circumvent future occurrence. |

raker300: I also thought aloud about the country's political expectations in this regard, although aside from voting my preferred candidate, I usually don't prefer to speak on Nigeria's political issues. The black race is very much ignorant and evil minded, that's why the winner's main purpose for winning is for ego, corruption and to seek vengeance against the opposition if successful as against what to bring on board, while the loser also has same intention, hence sees losing as end of life; with this, both the leader and follower of both the winner and loser is same spec. Little wonder we downplay thorough debate system as a prerequisite for our votes. |

A country whose leaders and majority of followers, and youths especially trade hatred and intentionally use historical event as a tool for unforgiveness and revenge in place of innovation and progress will only have a long long way to go. 1 Like |

Nigeria is fast becoming an angry land. Everyone is behaving in an unusual manner, if true that the NAF did not respond as expected because of the reason given, then it means our institutions have depreciated beyond comprehension. If a community is not satisfied with the performance of an institution that it sponsors through it taxes, is it wrong to say it? Things are getting out of hand everyday and it is sad. Articulating how we can get out of the mess often leaves one wondering how we got where we are, more worrisome is that impunity is becoming absolute. I believe the government should have the answer and requires strong focus to address these ugly becoming. |
