WE NEED YOUR HELP.....
Hi guys, been a while….

It’s me Idamiebi, Lead Developer… Titi Tilapia So i recently entered a video contest for KIA worldwide and out of several hundreds, i was shortlisted in the top 15…And now i really needs your votes to win this…Why?..Cause am nice of course… But also because a percentage of any winnings will go directly into development of Titi Tilapia..
As a matter of fact, i promise that if we win this contest. Titi Tilapia will be done and released in January 2013…(Yup just 3 months away)
You can check out the contest on KIA’s facebook page http://apps.facebook.com/kia_voting .. scroll down and check for “KIA Weekend Fun“.. (it will have a Nigerian Flag above it) .Click the “Vote” button to vote…It's the only Nigerian and African Entry in this contest...
Do this everyday till the 25th of October..We can win this…
Thanks...

Hey peeps, So we've been gone a while and we do apologize , it's with very good reason....
A lot has happened since we last said a thing about this project, i can assure you it's still on despite several challenges.. You can read the entire article here...
http://tititilapia.com/?p=1
Excerpt***For those who dont know me, the name is Idams, the bugger who’s the lead developer on this project. First off, i’ll like to apologise for our dissappering act, it’s been months since you heard anything about Titi Tilapia and that’s entirely my fault… and i think you all deserve a explanation why, afterall, we are making the game for you guys right?,
We started core work on Titi last year, and made good progress for being absolute newbies with zero game development experience, if i say so myself….
So late last year, we entered the Nigerian Federal Government’s Youth Business Funding Programme tagged Youwin(.www.youwin.com.ng )having made it past the first round,*****

Channels TV said the reports were unconfirmed
AND Just a minute ago, Channels deleted ALL tweets About the strike being CALLED Off, Seems like a HOAX AGAIN!!!
Moderator, This should not be on the front page ooo, or at least put a question mark at the end of the sentence

A few minutes ago, They deleted the tweets but now it's scrolling on the new bar on the TV station itself, Lets see how this goes,

Hiya Everyone, Quick Updates,
  Today as part of our plan to spread as much word about Titi Tilapia as possible, We dropped by the NYSC (National Youth Service Corps Scheme) CD(Community Development)  Meetings at the Zoological Gardens in Area 1 here in Abuja,
And we had a swell time talking about the game, answering questions, Was nice to see fellow young people interested and inspired by what we are doing,  And yes, we burnt a whole bunch of CD's of The game demo and gave them out entirely free,
See rush na, They were all excited and we were invited again for next week,

Unfortunately we forgot to take a camera, but while the Project Head (and yes, he is also serving the country a the moment)was talking, a corp member took a few pics with his phone which we later grabbed,  See em below

Here is a link to the post with the demo launch announcement
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-839118.0.html

, We would really appreciate if the moderators made that thread sticky and if possible bumped it to the Nairaland frontpage.
Would also help encourage young Nigerians and give the effort some attention,
Thanks

Hiya titi fans, unfortunately during recent tests we discovered we would have bandwith issues if we went along with launching the demo tomorrow,
This support and intrest we have gotten has been overwhelming, we really appreciate,
We want to ensure that you can all enjoy the demo fully on release,
(We are looking into several hosting options for the demo)
To this end, the demo launch will now be on the 4th of January 2012,
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause,
Watch Out for some brand new wallpapers tonight,
Una too much,

@ritchboy and 2buff
Again thanks for noticing the framerate issue, we checked it out and realised once we started recording any DirectX application, it's slowed the in-game framerates,
Lesson? your right, We will definitely be using a much better system for any future screen caps,
Abeg 6 Gbosa for una,
Gbosa, Gbosa, Gbosa, Gbosa, Gbosa, Gbosa,

Lol
Seriously though, thanks guys , constructive criticism rocks
Gaming / Re: Titi Tilapia: Nigeria's First Computer Game: Gameplay Video by TitiTilap1(f): 8:51pm On Dec 21, 2011
@ritchboy, thanks men, points noted,
As regards graphics, from inception, we realised we didn't have the budget or manpower to go the whole hog(as wit most indie titles), Producing AAA type graphics is simply beyond us at this time,

So we get our targets on the stylised simple graphics u see in the video
We also wanted to ensure the game runs on as many systems as possible(Naija is our major target market and most PC's don't have the latest Nvidia or ATI graphics cards), hehe, no disrespect(some of our own no get sef)
But thanks all the same, we all hope this leads to better things in future and we can afford to do things better,

Lol @ignatio, no vex oooo,
We had decided that he was an octopus and wanted a popular short nigerian first name that began with "O",
And there arent many so Okoro was our choice, lol
I hope it's not ur name or somone close to u ooo, hehehe

@djsholi,
We appreciate your worry,
as with everything in life, Game Development is not measured by who starts but gets it complete and released (In the indie world, even getting a game complete is looked as a success),

We were unaware of "Split Assassin" and as far as we know it was never released publicly as either a commercial or free project,
All the same, Kudos on your efforts,
We would love your Comments and Criticisms as we work on this project

@2buff
ok, please explain?    the framerate? of the ingame video?

Seems pretty well paced to me though, as per titi's levels are purposely slower-paced to allow you enjoy the ocean views, the one with the turtle sliding is clearly faster,
Wud love to hear from u, Thanks again
