just put in an airtel sim and check for update when you're in a wifi area, you'll be notified of the update

it is 10.1.0.273 and it allows you to download SKYPE and comes with a number of other improvements

airtel has also pushed the 10.1.x.Bleep update, so you can try airtel sim

BB10 multitasks excellently but the data footprint of background apps is not significant in my experience.

yes it is correct...the BB10 devices can run on any type of data subscription...the only ones giving problems are doing so because the networks are deliberately blocking BB10 access on those plans...if you are using any plan for androids, PC dongles or mifis or iphone, that same plan will work on the z10

I migrated recently from Blackberry Torch to the new Blackberry Z10 platform and ever since then my airtime hardly ever last, even though I paid and subscribed to the Blackberry service on Etisalat network.
Aside from the subscription, I often load credit on my phone to the tune of 3k and sometimes up to 5k. This hardly ever last more than one week even I rarely make calls.
I thought pinging is part of the weekly or monthly BB subscription.
I don’t understand, can some one please educate me on the billing principle, especially on Etisalat. Does this also apply to other network?

etisalat only allows bb10 plan work on the z10 so if u have been using regular bis, you are wasting ur time cos etisalat is charging u data on PAYU while ur subscribed bis is sitting there doing nothing

my advice, dump etisalat and use airtel or mtn

it happens sometimes...could be any number of reasons....you can update your BBM app from BBW. if others on ur BBM list see ur display changes, maybe that your friend also needs to update his BBM

did you know BB10 now allows you to access your PC from anywhere? unlike other platforms, you need a 3rd party app to do that but on BB10.1, its a native feature of the OS

yes it can run on a PC...not yet available on other mobile OS platforms

Denn: Big news BlackBerry 10 owners...the normal blackberry complete package for BIS works with the Z10.

I have suffered in silence by using the unnecessarily expensive BlackBerry 10 packages (3,000 for 1GB). Now I have the same 1GB for a miserly 1,400 on Airtel.

Just subscribe and restart phone.....

The BlackBerry 10 packages are a rip off.... flow with the normal BIS..

CAVEAT EMPTOR: i have only tried this on Airtel.

Glo comonth also works with no problem. I believe mtn package should also work

Seems etisalat is the only one giving problems on there complete and absolute plans

there's an app in BBW called Faceflow...it's a video chat app for BB10 and will be available on other platforms and the PC via a browser.

the app is taking on skype and the selling point is that it allows up to 4 people to chat at the same time as opposed to only one person at a time offered by Skype

Eze Promoe: This is not a minor issue looking from a businessman perspective. Saka betrayed etisalat as a whole by that, so i'll advice etisalat to go for a revenge and get Osuofia and Mama G to do the same.

Denn: Another creepy issue is that in BB10 plans, the adverts takes unlimited BBM. In reality, after you exhaust your data cap, BBM stops working

its only Etisalat that has advertised unlimited BBM for those on the BB10 plan using a BB10 phone...did you subscribe to Etisalat BB10 plan and your BBM stopped working when you ran out of data?

since i updated my S3 to 4.1 over 3 months ago, i've been having charging issues

at times, i plug the phone in and it discharges faster than its charging..totally ridiculous battery life since the 4.1 update

i can't really say but it should work. The problem is that Etisalat Z10 plans is rooted to blackberryx.net and not the usual blackberry.net, but if you subscribe to easy-blaze plan, blackberry.net works just fine

when you put an Etisalat sim into your Z10, by default, the APN shows the blackberryx.net irrespective of the data plan you have. all you have to do is change to the right APN for your data plan

obiscolly: Had an issue when trying to subscribe to the Etisalat BIS plan. I subscribed with my z10 for the monthly service and they gave me 5mb of data. In less than 20 minutes of using it I got a message from them that my monthly subscription has expired. It seems they detect the device from which the subscription request is being sent and they knew I was using a z10. I called their customer care and they said the normal bis wouldn't work. They refunded me with 900 naira though out of the N1000 I used to subscribe and I was compelled to go with their bb10 package

if they Etisalat wants to force Z10 users to their dedicated BB10 data plan by blocking the regular BIS intentionally, then you have to decide if you want to stay with them or not. on the other hand, the regular BIS plan from Etisalat is unlimited for the older BB devices. we all know those devices cannot really take advanatge of the unlimited data unlike the Z10

Blackberry was categorical when they announced the various data plans the BB10 operating system can work with...FULL BIS, dedicated BB10 plans and all other regular data plans can work on the Z10 so Etisalat cannot claim the problem is from the device.

from your post, it seems you subscribed to the 'COMONTH' plan. i will try and subscribe to their FULL BIS 1,500 plan and see if that works with blackberry.net

The only thing a BB can do is just PINGING!!! And that has been taken over by whatsapp...

A droid can play HD games, serve as a wireless hotspot, superfast downloads, over 600,000 free apps....

I know some BB fans will say bold5,6 and curve7 can also serve as a wireless hotspot, but i heard you need credit to do that, apart from the BIS subscription, but with a droid, its FREEEEEEEE!!!!!

Why buy a 100K Z10 when you can buy an infinix or tecno for 12-15K, with better value for money!!!

The 100k Z10 can play HD games and super faster download and all those 600,000 free apps will be avauilable for use on the Z10 very soon
