The Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work done on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project.

Speaking when the NNPC Board members went on a tour of Segment A sites in Abaji Area Council of the FCT, on Thursday, when the GMD/CEO, Mallam Mele Kyari, said he believed that the first Quarter 2023 target for delivering it will be met for the pipeline to begin to deliver gas to Kaduna and Kano.

The GMD/CEO, who was accompanied by other members of his Management Team, stated that as a result of activities around the AKK project, the country will see over eight billion standard cubic feet (scf) of gas injected into the domestic pipeline which will improve power generation, facilitate industrial development, create job opportunities and deepen domestic gas utilisation.

Kyari, who described the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Pipeline as “a signature project of this administration”, said it was time for Nigeria to take advantage of having the highest gas reserves in Africa.

Chairman of the NNPC Board, Senator Margret Okadigbo, said based on the magnitude of work done at the various construction sites, the projection to have first gas by the first quarter of 2023 was realisable.

Chairman of Oilserv, the Company handling Segment A of the AKK project, Mr Emeka Okwuosa, confirmed his company’s readiness to deliver the project on schedule.

The construction of the 614km AKK pipeline was flagged-off simultaneously in Kogi and Kaduna States by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020 to encourage gas utilisation and serve as a springboard for the nation’s industrialisation, said NNPCL.

Mr. Peter Obi is out there almost every day answering questions about his tenure as a governor in Anambra state, his life as a public servant, and what he intends to offer Nigerians if he were to become president.

I have only watched just one interview of Peter obi since I started hearing of him and the impression I got about him that day still lingers on. It was his interview alongside Atiku with Kadaria during the last presidential election. He was asked a question about taking the state money and investing it in his personal business. The arrogance with which he answered the question, without seeing anything bad in it as long as he "made money for the people" . Since that day, I have seen him only as a smart thief, not different from Tinubu, Oshiomole,Ganduje, Kwankwaso, Ibori, Igbinedion, Alameiseighea, Atiku, El-Rufai, PMB, Obj, Gej, IBB, Absulsalami, Abba Kyari and many others who aren't smart but just took advantage of the weak institutions in Nigeria to hide their crime.

But I'm in a position to dispassionately state that I clearly see a man today who can steer Nigeria back from the storm that it is headed into. A man who calls himself a trader first and not a politician. That resonates with me. He has gone from trading to building a very successful business empire for himself.

He sat on the boards of banks and multi-million dollar companies. A governor and a people and resources manager. This man has demonstrated the capacity and will to take on and wrestle the numerous illnesses that now ail our country.
