Many people have asked why the LP lawyers didn't crunch the figures to show how PO won the election. I came across this response by A&A @agupard_a and I hope it helps. There is something called ‘trap of anthesis”: when one arm of your argument has the effect of cancelling the other. LP lawyers avoided that trap. If you say the election was irredeemably flawed, you can't DIRECTLY say you won. So, they avoided that trap but gave the court a way around it. Because, it is the reliefs claimed by the petitioner that gives the Court, the jurisdiction on what to do. LP also made alternative prayers that if the court believes the election is not irredeemably flawed, it should compute the results and declare Obi winner. Then, they used Rivers & Benue State as examples. -copied |
OfficialAPCNig: LP he finally responded to APC addresses. It was a long read, but I focused more on the Shettima double nomination. Tinubu nominated Shettima on 14th July, but the 3rd respondent signed the INEC withdrawal notice on the 15th. LP also argued that APC can not seek refuge under the SC judgement against PDP. They cited SC precedent to backup their case. LP argument where very logical and well marshalled. Kudos to the LP legal team. [b]I can't wait to read PDP and APM addresses. Here you go: https://www.nairaland.com/7772318/apm-vs-inec-apc-tinubu |

By Deborah Tolu-Kolawole The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education has increased the school fees of new students into Federal Government Colleges otherwise known as Federal Unity Colleges to ₦100,000. This was contained in a directive from the Office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education, reference number ADF/120/DSSE/I, dated 25th May, 2023, and addressed to all Principals of Federal Unity Colleges. According to the circular entitled, “Approved fees/ charges for Federal Unity Colleges (1st Term) for new students“, signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, new students are expected to part with ₦100,000 instead of the previous N45,000. “The latest fees/charge increment will affect virtually all aspects and activities of the school, including tuition and boarding fees, uniform, text books, deposit, exercise books, prospectus, caution fee, ID card, stationery, clubs and societies, sports, extra lesson, insurance, et al. “Please be informed that the ministry has approved only the underlisted fees and charges for all Unity Colleges,” the memo read. https://punchng.com/fg-increases-unity-schools-fees-to-#100000/ |

Nigerians are still eagerly waiting for the Midas touch promised to them by the supporters of Ahmed Tinubu. They were told the man is a miracle worker who will turn even the unbendable into reality. Exactly 54 days into his stealership, it is now sorrow and gnashing of teeth for the citizens of our dear country. A sea of angry and sweaty pedestrians swarmed the throughways in Ikeja only a few days ago because the average person can no longer afford hitherto readily available vehicular transportation. Staple food has since become a flittering luxury since the pretender of bourdillon road, stole himself to our seat of power. The markets are not fairing any better. The Naira has become unhinged and has metamorphosed into a flying albatross, albeit in the wrong direction, namely, into oblivion. A reminder to some of us who are old enough to know the fate that befell Nigeria Airways, Nitel, NNSL, and yes, our refineries, etc. What is next, fellow countrymen and women?. |

I know some of you have been waiting for this. So, in the matter pending at the presidential Elections Petitions Court, the petitioners have filed their final written address, which I will serialize as follows: Attn. Mods: The following is Peter Obi's address. Please delete the thread if it offends any rules or sensitivities, but do not ban me. Thank you.

UPDATE: JUSTICE UGO YET TO RESIGN DESPITE PRESSURE Justice Boloukuoromo M. UGO of the Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal is yet to resign despite pressure being mounted for him and two others to do so, according to new information available this morning. Tinubu and his team are working hard to threaten them to get one or two to resign so that the panel will be bereft of jurisdiction at this stage. This will lead to replacement and retrieval denovo. In which case, it will be statute barred outside the 180 days stipulated by the constitution and the end of the matter because the Supreme Court cannot extend the time. This is what they are working on to achieve. |
