UnfairLife7:Manner also fell from heaven in the bible. Look, some of us men are simply not fit, mentally and emotionally, to mention marriage with their mouths, but this Nigeria is daily making infidels of even worthy men. |
Obinoscopy:This and many other factors. You must first consider the immediate micro and macro effects of suddenly putting unearned money into the pockets of numerous people. Those of us who live, or have lived, in the Western world can tell you firsthand how this "free money" has permanently devastated a large portion of the productive population of some of the advanced economies. Then there is the Nigeria factor. The inflation that will be unleashed will have no precedent in history. The woman in the marketplace will calculate her additional take-home pay on the basis of what she now understands to be the income of her neighbor. Our institutions are very weak or non-existent. What data or records will we use in managing these payments? What happened to our age-old albatrosses like corruption, tribalism, laziness, incompetence, nepotism, cronyism, etc.? Germany, as a case study, is a welfare state. The country provides what it calls "Bürgergeld"(citizen's income) to any citizen or resident who cannot provide for their subsistence (502 Euro monthly income (#504,515) AND cost of rent (about 700 euros for a single person or #703,500) AND cost of heating, medical insurance, contribution to the pension fund and other basic needs. This payment, which is enshrined in the constitution as a basic right, ensures that people are decent. The lack of desperation in the populace allows citizens and residents to walk around at 3 am without fear. Germany has an efficient administrative system without all the Nigerian factors mentioned above. This control mechanism enables the authorities to monitor and tailor education and retraining policies, including measures to combat unemployment, to the needs of society and industry. The German economy is strongly anchored in manufacturing and SMEs. These segments of the economy are strongly supported to enable growth and innovation. It is through the taxes and royalties that are generated from these sources that the socio-economic measures are financed. Economically, these payments also stimulate the economy. Recipients spend their income in the economy as living expenses and pay 19% VAT. The problem I see with Nigeria is the lack of effective productivity. Epileptic to almost non-existent productive capacity, which is choking the economy, with the attendant overpopulation of the country. 170 million people (against a claimed 220 million), with an estimated 20 percent of the population effectively productive. Nigerians, when employed, are mostly underemployed, therefore unable to contribute fully to the economy. What the country needs are economic policies that spur innovation. Kill corruption from the top down, overhaul our education system to produce job-ready graduates, more technical than academic. The country must have a steady power supply, end oil theft by the Nigerian elite, build a new refinery and completely rehabilitate the Port Harcourt refinery in a 20/85 percent partnership with the private sector (government cannot run business). Control inflation by preventing and sanctioning the investment of internal ill-gotten wealth into the system and the export of the same, effective taxation and pension system, and aggressively promote SMEs, the middle economic engine, to succeed. Agriculture? With the right policies, Nigeria can easily become a net exporter of food to sub-Saharan countries and beyond. Since our population is bound to explode and cannot be stopped, Nigeria must aim to export skilled labor, coupled with a home-based pension system in the manner that Turkey is practicing, and rake in massive remittances like India and the Philippines. These are basic and urgent. There are other urgent measures we must adopt to kick start the country, but una no dey pay me. Tinubu sef don hire empty-headed quarks who are on the prowl, selling him dummies. Welcome to renewed shege you promoted, or you are forced to swallow. |
ElSudani:Na small boy dey do am. Forgive him. |
DenreleDave:Most are definitely struggling under the heavy weight of "see finish" induced insults from their wives and even children. That's what you get when you live in a society where core family and moral values have evaporated and what's left is extreme greed and moral decadence. Yet, there are level-headed, hard-working women out there who stand by their struggling spouses and give them reason to believe and the will to succeed. My respect goes to these ladies. |
cheque:How is this the only headache you have in the Tinubu introduced shege Nigerians are currently grappling with? The lady in question is an adult, an individual, and therefore entitled to her own preferences and prerogatives. She is probably not going to tell you to wear boxer shorts if it is slips for you. Learn to accept people's choices, and perhaps try to understand the reason they swing a certain way in a friendly discussion. Relationship no suppose hard. |
It's got to be that fraudulent piece of shit paper Tinubu bought from Yakubu. |
The Council of Ulama (Islamic clerics) in Kwara State on Tuesday warned those planning to celebrate traditional religion or Ifa festival in Ilorin, the state capital, to retrace their steps. The council warned that Ifa festival, under any guise, would not be allowed in any part of Ilorin Emirate, comprising Asa, Moro, Ilorin East, Ilorin West and Ilorin South local government areas. The executive secretary of the council, Justice Salihu Mohammed made the position of the council known at a press conference held in Ilorin. Mohammed, a former Grand Khadi of Kwara state Sharia Court of Appeal spoke on behalf of the chairman of the Council of Ulama and Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheik Bashir Salihu. The Secretary who said that Ilorin, Kwara State capital was known as sanctuary of Islam for more than 200 years and renowned for Islamic faith, practice, Spirituality and Knowledge stated that the insistence of the youth wing of the International Council for Ifa Religion( ICIR) to hold their festival in Ilorin on August 20th 2023, posed danger to the security of lives and property across the state. “It is in the light of this that we have found it extremely necessary to plead with the Kwara State government and all stakeholders to appeal to the ICIR and similar interest groups to stay away from Ilorin as available evidence convinced us that the staging of the event in Ilorin would have a serious negative consequence on the peace of Kwara State. “We are not unmindful of the pillage of aspersions and insults mounted on our father, the Emir of Ilorin and chairman, Council of Emirs and Chiefs in Kwara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari by individuals that are expected to know better, which are unfortunate, condemnable and inexcusable. “We don’t think any individuals or group has anything to gain from destruction of the harmonious coexistence. The people of Ilorin Emirate, particularly the Kwara State Council of Ulama cannot be coerced by any person or group of persons claiming to be representing intellectualism or atheistic practices to destroy what our forefathers have fought for. “As community and opinion leaders in our various places of abode, we are not unaware of the readiness of various youth groups never to allow the staging of the so called ‘isese’ festival anywhere in Ilorin . “To them, such activities would pollute the peace and tranquillity of the community as it is also been seen as invasion and an act of cultural imperialism. “We as leaders, see merit in the position of the Muslim youths. We sincerely believe that it is unwise and wrong for non residents of a community to forcefully impose imported thoughts or practices on their hosts .This is repugnant to natural justice and it will certainly lead to the brake down of law and order.” “We must make it abundantly clear that we are not against the celebration of isese festival. What is important to let the whole World know is that we , the people of Ilorin, have absolutely nothing to do with it. We understand the motive of their sinister and abominable move but warn that Ilorin have moved on. “The Emirate might be a Yoruba speaking city, it must be realized that its present culture is no longer that of Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Nupe or any other, but purely an Islamic culture. We therefore advise that they should allow peace to reign across Nigeria. All we are saying is that it should not be held where the celebrators and celebration would not be welcomed. Ilorin is certainly not among the places that should be considered for such a festival if the organisers are patriotic and well meaning”, Mohammed said. While appealing to Muslim youths and other stakeholders to exercise patience, Mohammed appealed to Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, ” to direct all the security agencies in the state to take note of this threat to the peace and security of the state .A stitch in time saves nine.” At the press conference were the Imam Gambari, Ajanasi Agba, Sheikh Yusuf Pakata, Professor Badmas Yusuf, two former grand Khadis, Justices Idris Haroon and Ola AbdulKadir; former president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh AbdulHamid Adi; and representatives of Imams and Alfas from all the 16 local government areas of the state. Recall that the Kwara state Police Command had advised the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR) who are behind the planning of holding the Isese festival to relocate the event to another state as the security report did not favour the celebration of the festival in Ilorin. “Vigilante, local hunters, community policing members, and the leadership of the traditional worshippers in Kwara, along with some of their leaders from adjoining states, have also been dialogued with and made to understand that the intelligence available to the Police Command does not favor the kind of celebrations being planned by one of the religious sects in the state; they have been advised to relocate their celebration to another state pending a favorable security situation in the state, the Police Command said in the statement signed by SP Okasanmi Ajayi, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs Ebbunoluwarotimi Adelesi. https://punchng.com/isese-festival-stay-away-from-ilorin-islamic-council-warns-traditional-worshippers/ |
Abagworo:Confused imbe!. I thought his monkeys touted him as the original einstein. Mumu thief. First class affliction. |
garfield1:Ok. All good. |
Waiting for Garfield1 to come and tell us how Julius Abure did not plead the prayers granted. |

Nigeria's military has no business in Niger under the prevailing circumstance. But that said. This Nigerian military brutally murdered your fellow countrymen and women during the End SARS protest, but you did not see the need to raise your voices to support the effort. On the contrary. You spoke against these peaceful protesters only because you were immune from the daily struggles of the rest of us with these criminal state agents. Who then is surprised they now woke up to protest against the same barbaric military overzealousness external to us as a country, and in our current precarious economic climate and unresolved political leadership?. Fulani and some of their Yoruba name-bearing bastards are now rubbing the pains of Ilorin annexation on Yoruba faces, while our people in the middle belt are daily burying their dead, brutally, unprovoked, murdered by this marauding tribe. Their python in uniforms has been dancing on Ndigbo for 3+ years, while they busy themselves blackmailing the rest of Nigeria on behalf of their real brothers and sisters in Niger and everything Islam. This begs the urgent question, on what basis can anyone justify Nigeria's continued existence as presently constituted?. |
ecolime:Do you want them to be caught sleeping while riding a bicycle again?. Remember once beaten.... |
Lying and criminal CBN. Diaspora remittance in 2021 was 22 billion dollars, but we know it is double or more than double. How do I know?, I am one of the many Nigerians who remit this money week after week, month after month. In a year, when we earned a paltry $6 billion in oil revenue, diaspora remittances financed the country's budget. Our remittances paid for nurses, doctors, teachers, and your criminal-thieving politicians, including the black SUVs they used to run you off the road. But what have they told you about us? They should not vote because they live outside the country. Their opinions don't count, we can't appoint them to give us their expertise. They are second-class Nigerians, but they are good enough to finance your existence. But we know they are just afraid of us. They are in awe of those who have become enchanted, civilized, emancipated, and educated and have built economic capacity for themselves as they have, but as corrupt parasites. The CBN must stop lying. They are the criminals who have been stealing from the rest of us. They are the people who have been fiddling with our foreign exchange earnings, round-tripping, etc. Not only that, they are complicit and co-responsible for today's turn of events. Tinubu's ineptitude, open corruption, lack of emotional intelligence, and integrity are the second factor. I am currently telling people directly under my influence to stop or drastically reduce their remittances to this fraudulent economy. The sanctions Nigeria connived with Ecowas to impose on Niger are now directly depressing the naira. The decline in our trade volume has a direct impact on our currency. Tinubu and his handlers missed this otherwise obvious macro effect. I am not willing to continue funding these criminal politicians, including the idi0ts who are paid from our funds, to insult their fellow long-suffering citizens here in Nairaland daily. I know that won't change much or anything, but this is the least we can do. Docile Nigerians need to feel the pain of their docility. They need a catalyst to wake them up from their slumber and hopefully begin to hold those who have ruined their lives accountable. I laugh at these hungry and depraved idi0ts who have been unleashed on Nigerians as attack dogs, talking to anyone who expresses an opinion contrary to their programmed narrative. You m0rons are as many victims as the people you connive with, your slave masters who feed you crumbs to insult and misinform. I am ashamed of you. I am ashamed of you because you definitely do not believe in the contract you are executing. Your conscience is for sale, for a pittance. Those of us who fight for what is right for this country and her citizens do so without compensation of any kind or any expectation thereof, except good governance and the wellbeing of all of her people. We are happy to commit ourselves daily, spending our time and resources to do so. We are driven by the love of country, not by whomever you call a “principal”. And, I've got bad news for you. While you are spending the now orphaned naira, some of us, including yours truly, are earning and spending dollars and euros daily. Currencies that some of you would readily kill for, and a lot of it. Yet we fight for you. Nigerians are now committing suicide daily. A phenomenon that was rare or even foreign to this country before now. Desperation and hopelessness have become the order of the day in the land, yet your depleted consciences would not flinch. And for what reason exactly?. Are you really that lazy to take care of yourselves?. |
It is no longer a secret that Ahmed Tinubu feels that his claim to legitimacy should now come through the barrel of guns. He appears determined, in the process, to court and romance the voices that may ultimately silence him when the real power holders, Nigerians, finally wake up to remind him that he is not majority chosen by them. But as he matches in the meantime into an unprovoked, unjustifiable bloodletting, including those of our men and women in uniform, he may want to, at the least, do us a favor and return something to us as ROI. Asari Dokubo asked to be sent. He and his co-criminals has since been licensed to kill on behalf of the government. And we have our famous northwest bandits headed by Sheik Ahmad Gumi and Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Fulani herdsmen ably represented by Miyetti Allah Koutal-hore, even Boko Haram. We may finally do one thing right in this country. Coalesce with these forces and send them into Niger as an advance force, while our military boys escort them at a reasonable distance. Our military boys and girls are to ensure they do not retreat and to wipe them out at the first attempt at cowardice. That's what the over-hyped super Tukano was meant to do. Our Ecowas brothers need not worry for now. They can conveniently stay home with their wives and children. We should enter into agreement and send Asari & co, all northwest bandits, Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram into battle with Niger across our divide, then clandestinely support Niger to wipe them out. Problem solved. Loss?. We did not lose anything. It was an altercation between overzealous rascals and Niger coupists. Ecowas returns to the negotiating table, where we will work to find an African solution. Meanwhile, our terrorists are with their maker while we resume sleeping with both eyes closed. Nigerians wins. Did Tinubu not steal our election?. That in itself is worse than a coup d'état, but we are still suing each other up and down. That is seeking an African solution. |
Ikaeniyan0:He graduated from CSU yet he is contesting the presentation of the evidence thereof?. As fellow Africans, I am condemned to like and embrace all of you. But some of your are utterly shameless and useless. |
pretydiva:Nigeria. A wicked, terrible space with equally wicked and terrible people to boot. |
ImperialYoruba:Did you mention Tinubu and Majority in the same sentence?. Listen, Tinubu did not receive more than 3 million real votes in this election. Yakubu simply manufactured the rest out of his warped imaginations. Little wonder he and his co election results manipulators were unable to present a coherent defense of their shameful dishonesty before the justices. |
BoldBrainz:Well... |
izonborn098:Get lost. |
izonborn098:Look, this mindset is the reason we are where we are today. It shouldn't be about the interests of an individual who derived his title from us. That said, I will never impose myself on people who do not want me. And in the unlikely event that I elect to betray my parental upbringing in such a disgraceful manner, I believe I will, in an act of self-flagellation, immediately vacate the office if the people so demand. |
The day our brothers in the middle belt learn and adopt the tactics and determined aggression with which Igbos step up to those who would otherwise want to visit on them, the same murder and mayhem seen here, that will be the day their lives will get a reprieve. And the rest of Nigeria, supporters of injustice, impunity, and retrogression, can bleat all they want. In Nigeria, you've gotta get yours. From the plains of the plateau down to the river banks of the Benue, you've gotta arm yourselves and get into battle if you hope to stay alive. Igbo has been showing you how it is done, even in the face of their concerted blackmail. Learn from your brothers who have been there before you, done that, and are still in the battle as we speak. Ignore your saboteur politicians. Arm the Bleep-up and defend the lives you live. |
Three (3) strikes and you're out. Take your pick: 1. Invalid nomination 2. Double nomination 3. Guinean citizenship 4. Forged certificate 5. Criminal forfeiture 6. Submission of false information 7. Perjury Now, pick any 3 and there are still four (4) more strikes left to pick from. If Tinubu is absolved of all these, then the Nigerian Correctional Centre should close out, fold up, and officers deployed to do better things with their lives. The courts should release all prisoners in these facilities based on precedence. Any attempt, attempted attempts, or group of attempt, eh!. Anyway, all our eyes are firmly trained on the corrupt judiciary. |
Penguin2:I swear, you cannot kill me for my mama ![]() |
Afamed:You make me laugh. You know the truth, so much so that you don't believe the nonsense you wrote yourself. Chimamanda should be ashamed to publicly support a man of her conviction, who she believes won the election because paid, tribal bigots like yourself will label her whatever suits your warped imagination. The semi-skeletal election thief you trumpet daily is fine because he is your tribesman, even if your life is in the doldrums today because of his mismanagement, nepotism, corruption, and lack of capacity. It's all right. Look, we are happy and satisfied with the work of our legal team compared to the sham defense of your bloated Olanikpekus & Co. Note my use of the word, “we”. I do not need to tell you that the criminals you nicknamed UGM are agents of the Federal Government, supervised by the toad from the creeks, Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari. God has finally exposed him for the closet terrorist that he is, an avowed ally of the semi-skeleton in Aso Rock you lazy dullards call a president. As for who won the election, the court will soon give its verdict. Please do not mention me again. I'm a busy man, unlike you brood of jobless "for hire" town criers. |
Efuaye:Absolutely unnecessary war, only caused by one man's myopic dream of restoring what he believes is a lost empire. You cannot attack anyone in this interconnected world without drawing out an ally or allies. Russia learned nothing from their Afghanistan misadventure, unlike the USA in Vietnam and, recently, Afghanistan. Vladimir Putin and Russia should be ashamed of themselves, and he ought to be held accountable and ultimately disgraced out of office by Russians for disgracing and demystifying their assumed capability. If you cannot defeat a military ant, Ukraine, in what is now nearly two years of an all-out war, and Ukraine is now successively hitting targets in the heart of your own territory, you have miserably lost the war. Period. Minus nuclear capacity, Russia is a phony superpower. |
Fear mongers. I wonder whether their poisoned tongues would find the same advice if Chimamanda was appointed to a position by Ahmed Tinubu?. Would she be advised to circumspect or limit her association with the election thief and his associates?. Associating with the rightful winner of the election Tinubu stole is now a cardinal sin for which she is to be diplomatically reprimanded. Nigerian politicians are very dangerous creatures, and the foregoing undoubtably bear their imprimatur. Chimamanda is a global brand, and they fear her reach only because she's not in their camp. |
