A 45-year-old man, Alabi Bakare, has been docked before an Ikeja Magistrate Court, Lagos, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a five-year-old girl.

Bakare, who was accused of assaulting the child (name withheld), a commercial motorcycle operator, is married with two wives.

The defendant, who is a neighbour of the victim’s parents, is facing a one-count charge of having unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor.

The Police prosecutor, Mr Barth Nwaokoye, told the court that Bakare had allegedly had sex with two other girls, who are minors and whose names were simply given as Jumoke, aged four and Azeezat aged, eight, before he was recently arrested.

Nwaokoye, said that the man committed the offence on August 3, 2012, at Oluwakemi Street, Alapere, Ketu.
The prosecutor alleged that Bakare, has been sexually assaulting little children over time before he was finally caught.

The prosecutor added that it was one Mr Kehinde Ogundare of the same address, who caught him having sexual intercourse with the little child and reported the case.

Nwaokoye said that Bakare as an Okada rider and as a neighbour to the victim, was the one that usually takes them to school every day, adding that the defendant had access to the children as a result of the familiarity he had with them as their driver and as a neighbour.

The offence is punishable under section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws Vol. 44 No. 11 of 2011.

Fani-Kayode is a bloody revisionist and soulless hypocrite who just strives to play on people's emotions to achieve his selfish, idiiotic goals. He's as crooked and slimy as they come.

Anybody who who takes this m0r0n seriously must either be gullible, or naturally very dumb.

Over and out.

It is the deception and avarice of the Ibos (Igbo) that brought both Nigeria and Igbo nation to where they are today. Ezeogu Kaduna killed all the Hausa leaders including Adekunle Fajuyi , a faithful Yoruba man just to satisfy their self aggradizement leaving Okpara, Azikwe, etc to enjoy.They appointed only Ibos on the wealth of the nation and was commanding as if they were wiser than the rest. They started a war they could not finish and unfortunately desired to occupy Nigeria where the sagacious and intelligent Yorubas were.

This is what arrogance, unnecessary ego and avarice caused for them- Death, debt, pain and evalasting regrets. IBOSSSS wake up and be wise.

For Kwara- Yoruba elder then (Afonja) used the Fulani(from Sokoto Caliphate) to fight war in Ilorin and promised them to occupy there like his vangaurd while his people live as the occupants so it was not a conquest but an agreement ab initio. You can only see few Fulani in Ilorin but not in any other part of Kwara eg Offa, Oro, Igbomina part, etc.

Pls research before you talk.

Femi Fani-Kayode is a true son of his father. His father, aka, ''Fani Power'' was also a traitor and bastard . He was in the league of those Yoruba twits that created political problems for Awo and Yorubaland. The likes of Chief Adisa Oja'gbo, Chief Adelabu Penkelemesi, Chief Mojeed Agbaje, ''Fani Power,'' Chief Adisa Akinloye, Chief Richard Akinjide, and Olusegun Obasanjo were in their own individual capacity enemies to the Yoruba people in general and Awolowo in particular. So, brave Yoruba sons and daughters, don't be surprised if you see people like Femi trying to discredit Awo's good work and name.
The problem with some Igbo sons is that they believe they are smarter than others. Zik reneged on several agreements with Awo pre-independence, Zik was part of the government that jailed Awo, yet Awo should have supported Biafra.

It is important to contextualize Awo’s actions before and during the Civil war. To do so accurately, one must scrutinize the actions of all parties pre-Independence, post-Independence, and pre-Civil war.

In 1957, the Governor-General, Sir James Robertson, gave the three regions the choice of self-autonomy and independence but it had to be a majority decision. Awo voted for independence for the Western Region, Ahmadu Bello said the North wasn't ready for self-governance and would prefer to remain under British rule. Zik voted to put off Independence for the Eastern region, preferring to wait for the North to be ready. Zik had the choice of a country for the Eastern region but he wanted Nigeria at all cost. Similarly, at the same constitutional conference in London, Awo wanted a secession clause inserted into the constitution but Zik and Bello refused. Guess who would later want secession.

Now fast forward to the general election in 1959. The North won the most seats in the house. Awo offered to join a coalition with Zik, with Zik as Prime Minister (the PM had the real power) but Zik preferred to form a coalition with the North and accepted a redundant position as Governor-General with no real powers.
When Zik aligned with the North in 1959, guess who got most of the ministerial and administrative positions allocated to the South? Yes, you guessed it, the Igbos. The Yorubas and other Groups were left on the sidelines until Akintola broke away from the AG with the help of who? Zik and Okpara who thought that Akintola would defect to their party but played a fast one by preferring to form his own party and aligning with the North. Now when the situation of the Igbo changed with Akintola joining Balewa's government with positions held by Igbo now going to Akintola's supporters, what do you think happened next? Coup by Igbo officers.

In 1962, there were problems in the Western Region between Awo and Akintola who both belonged to the Action Group. Akintola was sacked but due to actions of NCNC (Zik's Party) members, the removal of Akintola wasn't effected. Balewa and Zik imposed a state of emergency on the West because of chair throwing in the Western House yet there were no states of emergency in the North and East for far more violent actions on the streets there (the TIV crisis and the Okrika riots). Awo was subsequently jailed on trumped up charges.

Now after the imprisonment of Awo, Zik thought that his party NCNC would take control of the Western region but Akintola decided to form his own party (NNDP) rather than join the NCNC. In the elections of December 1964, NNDP took control of the Western region. The NCNC cried that elections were rigged. According to Fazil Ope-Agbe (Akintola's right hand man), the ensuing mayhem in the West was sponsored by Okpara and Zik. With the AG in retreat, NCNC calculated that if Akintola's party fell apart, the NCNC would be in a position to pick the pieces. This is not far-fetched considering Zik's antecedents in the West.

With Akintola holding firm, NCNC didn't gain the advantage it sought. One year later, a group of officers who were predominantly Igbo, executed a coup that eliminated leading politicians and officers from the North and West. Despite the murder of these Northern and Western leaders, the Northerners, who were senior partners in the coalition with the East, picked another leader, Dipcharima, to replace Balewa. The East, even though it was the junior partner, had selected Madiwe. When the North refused to budge to this proposal, Nwafor Orizu, chose to handover to Aguiyi-Ironsi another Igbo man and in the process, Nigeria’s nascent democracy was truncated.
Awo was imprisoned on trumped up charges by the Balewa/Zik government and thrown in prison. Awo wrote to Ironsi in March 1966 requesting to be released from prison but was obviously ignored. Awo would later be released from prison by Gowon and driven home in Murtala Mohamed’s car. Despite his time in prison and his political difficulties with Zik/okpara, Awo would assume the role of a statesman and try to find a solution to the impasse between the North and the East. That speech by Awo to the Western regional house was a very noble one. Awo would also travel to Enugu to advise Ojukwu against armed conflict.

So putting all these into consideration, would any sane person expect Awo to simply just follow the East in a secession bid? Awo's loyalty was to his people. He did what he felt was best for his people concerning the circumstances. Despite all that, Awo advised Ojukwu not to go to war. When Awo offered to organise a meeting with Northern officers, Ojukwu replied, 'On the specific question of whether ther bless u man.

Farouk is just saying the mind of the average northern elite. Awolowo made a very great mistake by not supporting the south-east during the Biafran war. It was a just cause which he should have supported but because he wanted to be president pandered to the whims of the northern oligarchs and here we are today. The fact remains that we are living a lie in this country. Nigeria is a mirage and the earlier we go our separate ways, the better. Now, not even a sovereign national conference can save Nigeria. Awo with all due, respect messed up big time because of his ambition. I'm yoruba by the way.

If you ibos can channel half of the energy you use to dig some stories that make no sense to loving your people than you hate Yoruba and also think how to move your land forward, your states won't remain cursed.
dr stone:

Before you spill your confused ignorance to undiscerning minds, Hear this:

The Biafran struggle is, on another plane, a resistance to the Arab-Muslim expansionism which has menaced and ravaged the African continent for twelve centuries. As early as the first quarter of the seventh century, the Arabs, a people from the Near-East, evolved Islam not just as a religion but as a cover for their insatiable territorial ambitions. By the tenth century they had overrun and occupied, among other places, Egypt and North Africa. Had they stopped there, we would not today be faced with the wicked and unholy collusion we are fighting against. On the contrary, they cast their hungry and envious eyes across the Sahara on to the land of the Negroes.

Our Biafran ancestors remained immune from the Islamic contagion. From the middle years of the last century Christianity was established in our land. In this way we came to be a predominantly Christian people. We came to stand out as a non-Muslim island in a raging Islamic sea. Throughout the period of the ill-fated Nigerian experiment, the Muslims hoped to infiltrate Biafra by peaceful means and quiet propaganda, but failed. Then the late Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto tried, by political and economic blackmail and terrorism, to convert Biafrans settled in Northern Nigeria to Islam. His hope was that these Biafrans on dispersion would then carry Islam to Biafra, and by so doing give the religion political control of the area. The crises which agitated the so-called independent Nigeria from 1962 gave these aggressive proselytisers the chance to try converting us by force.

It is now evident why the fanatic Arab-Muslim states like Algeria, Egypt and the Sudan have come out openly and massively to support and aid Nigeria in her present war of genocide against us. These states see militant Arabism as a powerful instrument for attaining power in the world.

Biafra is one of the few African states untainted by Islam. Therefore, to militant Arabism, Biafra is a stumbling block to their plan for controlling the whole continent. This control is fast becoming manifest in the Organisation of African Unity. On the question of the Middle East, the Sudanese crisis, in the war between Nigeria and Biafra, militant Arabism has succeeded in imposing its point of view through blackmail and bluster. It has threatened African leaders and governments with inciting their Muslim minorities to rebellion if the governments adopted an independent line on these questions. In this way an O.A.U that has not felt itself able to discuss the genocide in the Sudan and Biafra, an O.A.U. that has again and again advertised its ineptitude as a peace-maker, has rushed into open condemnation of Israel over the Middle East dispute. Indeed in recent times, by its performance, the O.A.U. might well be an Organisation of Arab Unity

HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!!. Even the Crusaders in their War efforts did not do this. they simply converted the Mosque at Istanbul[Contantinople] into a Church, years later the Seljuk Turks took it back and retained it up till this day as a Mosque. Recent Outburst by Prominent Islamic clerics from the North to ASARI Dokubo is even more revealing. Nigeria is viewed as a conquered ARab territory, with today's American ambassador parroting in the West that Nigeria is about to become the LARGEST MUSLIM NATION IN BLACK AFRICA.
Again, by this Asertion, the Yoruba's are being told the Home Truth by their Hausa Overlord, that their race is considered subjugated.
When Billy Graham first came to preach in Nigeria in the early 60's. as part of Protocol, he visited the Sardauna to intimate him of his mission. They Sardauna also quized him And Said, they are here to also Islamise Nigeria and would not Rest until He dips the KORAN into the sea. Billy Graham replied, "Let God see to that" and Left. A few months after, The sardauna was gone!!!
ALAS, the Yoruba nation are being told the HOME TRUTH that has been kept away from the public view for AGES.......That the Northern Hausa's Consider them fickle and Lily livered COWARDS. Whenever they wanted, they found one among them to undermine their real Leaders. Whether its an Afonja to Defeat ALaafin, or A Ladoke to undermine an AWOLOWo, and if Ladoke is no longer alive, an MKO could do the Job well. Today, it is the likes of Tinubu or this guy in Osun to RUBBISH an OBJ. I am happy that despite their pretentions, the Fulani/Hausa Superiority is shown by their Unrivalled establishment of the ILORIN Emirate and they are coming out to declare it openly.
I have a friend here on Naira land who , whenever issues are raised quickly mentions the likes of Black Scorpion as a thorn to Biafra...I laugh!! Just yesterday, Mr Femi Fani Kayode mentioned that the Yorubas won the War for "NIGERIA", nay their ABOKI overlords. It was when OBJ entered the scene. And ever since they have been termed 2nd class as far as the nigerian project is concerned until the events of HOPE 93. To change the POWER Equation, GOD thru unexplainable circumstances brought the same man OBJ to take POWER back from them and they have fought every inch of the way to get it back.I understand, that while in Power Obj makes it a duty to attend the OIC meetings in Person and they Hated HIm for that. But it is obvious that the heavens do not favour their cause. As their dim light of Hope,[The yaradua Presidency quickly ended before Sanusi could Implement his SHARIA Agenda. A Goodluck Surfaced beating the Likes Of IBB, ATIKU & Buhari to It. They thought the had the numbers to decide by Election, they were dissappointed yet again. Next, they concluded if we cannot have it peacefully, then unleash our religious BOKO HARAM DOGS to feast on them... if possibly we may carve out iof Nigeria a Sharia State for Ourselves..........THIS ALSO IS DOOMED TO FAIL and completely reverse whatever gains they had in the PAST.....WATCHOUT!!!!!!!

If u are a Yoruba, then something is wrong with u just like Omolewa or whatever the name is, what mistake did Awo make. Do u see the Ibos as human beings or bunch of thieves and deceptive people. If they have a shop next to u, all they think of is how to send u away and occupy that shop. Awo did the right thing. The war was just to achieve Ojukwu's aim. If he truly wanted Biafra and not his own selfish target, let us view the following together:
1. Why did he run away,
2. Why did he beg and return to his vomit, same Nigeria he had vowed to seceed from,
3. Why did he contest twice to become the president of Nigeria; etc.
The young ibos talking now are unwise, they need to seek knowledge, knowing the cause of Nigerian problem. Ibos by carrying out the first coup and killing Northern and Western leaders sparing their own Ibo leaders. That was the beginning of the end.

You are ibo, so no one cares about your fake apology, but one thing is sure though, war is sure still at your door.
omowolewa: I tender an unreserved appology to the Igbos for the position of our leaders towards the civil.

The mission of the north is clear,'to hold-on power,control the port and dictate how oil blocs are shared'. What a man speaks out when angry or drunk is the through reflection of his mind. The north speaks too much in their anger.

Nigeria could only exit beyond 2015 if we go back to regional government where resource control is well entrenched. If this doesn't happen by constitutional review,it will come through war. The unity between the southern part of Nigeria will catch the north unaware.

I may not know the position of the middle belt because they are always in the middle of all issues. But am sure they will prefer to be a federating unit with the south to going up to the desert with the north.

Nna men, sorry please.

Fajuyi was asked to go but he refused to betray Ironsi, choosing the path of honor instead. If only we in the south could bury our differences and see that we have a common enemy...

Lots of emotional arguments from Biafrans but no fact based position.

Anyway, I will return much later if there are 'new' facts. grin

Engaging ibos in any matter is like roller coaster, they will make you repeat yourself over and over again.
Katsumoto:

I am tired of repeating myself; please read the thread from the start.

You are asking questions that have been addressed.

Your leaders are worse and the biggest scum are all your forefathers down to your impotent father that contracted your birth out to his neighbor.
redsun: Awo bleeped up. He was a typical nigerian. His selfish interest of becoming the president of a rogue country overshadowed the vision of independent,defined,constructive and progressive people.

Obj as we all know is a scum,so little surprise he pitched his tent with numbskulls.

This was what your forefathers did in the 60s that wasted the lives of over 3milion ibos. You have started again. The last time I checked Yorubas are still the set of richest people in Nigeria. We control the wealth of this nation by holding the big companies and entities, we are the main professionals the country has from Accounting, to Law, to medicine, to pharmacy, to Enginering, etc . Apart from Dangote and his cousing Dantata both from the North and few Ibo people you think about the rich you remember the Yorubas so what is your problem or mention the ibos in the class of the follwoing:
1. Mike Adenuga;
2. Shubomi Balogun;
3. Obaotudeko;
4. Harry Akande;
5. Dende Fanades;
6. Deji Adeleke;
7. Femi Otedola;
8. Jimoh Ibrahim;
9. The Ogulesis;
10. Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, etc Cant even finish them. So what is your problem, and if we check now, u work in a company owned by Yoruba man or woman or u stay on our land. foolish set of people born to be a stranger.

May the devil punish you and you entire family for using Yoruba handle to apologize to these low lifers.
omowolewa: I tender an unreserved appology to the Igbos for the position of our leaders towards the civil.

9ja_I_hail: When people kept blaming awo for been the problem the southern Nigeria had yoruban's will rise up for his defense,do anyone noticed through what a true yoruba son said on this article? Fifthly it was the lie that Gowon and the northern leaders fed to Awolowo that he would be made President of the country after the war and after being effectively being made de facto Prime Minister under Gowon during the war that got Awoloo to support them.

Awo shame to u even in grave just because of power, Northerners promised you a president of Nigeria then you decided to use the blood of innocent igbo children and women to buy ur way into the presidency of Nigeria.I love the Northerners for their smartness after the war they made you april fool.
sad sad sad sad sad this Hausa just used awolowa and his region for nothing to gain...only yoruba person that smell power after .B. war was OBJ other was jailed and killed in the process....
