jolly94: The link says that the UCH will get, and not that it has got the fund. Your ignorance is nauseating. Having mentioned facility upgrade in the link, he has exonerated me that the facilities there are not up-to-date, and therefore needed to be upgraded. So, the Nigerian newspaper you cited is a reputable peer-reviewed international journal? Just cite their high ranking work on some of the international peer-reviewed journals such as the England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, the journal of the American Society for Microbiology, and give a convincing evidence where those publications of theirs were ranked some of the best from Africa, and I'll believe you. If you can't show an evidence of these, just keep quiet. |

Mandeyy:Ignoramus. I'm not susprised that you fail to assess all the websites that was provided by me because you have chosen to take an ignorant stance. Well you can keep this decrepit habit of yours. I'm sure in the nearest future it will do you no good when you meet your Waterloo. 1 Like |

jolly94: Where was it stated in those links that it ranks the 4th best as you stated in your previous comments? It partners with Harvard Chan, so do other teaching hospitals in Nigeria. You really lack understanding. The pepfar programme isn't only in the UCH. Some Nigerian teaching hospitals have it too. You're extremely ignorant! You're not well informed. I need not waste my precious time discussing the irrelevant issues you always churn out here. You're a kid! For example, in heart disease, the UNTH Enugu is a reference hospital. In lassa fever, Covid 19 and VVF, my teaching hospital is also a reference hospital in the South East, and partners with foreign donors too. You hardly find a teaching hospital or FMC in Nigeria that doesn't partner with a reputable foreign medical organization. So, I find this post of yours laughable. |

Mandeyy:With all what you wrote, it still does not change the fact that EBSU teaching hospital is not an extension of the Federal Medical Centre in Ebonyi. You're just buttressing all what I have been saying. Did you and your colleagues at clinicals not take clinical instructions from FMC, yes or no? Answer, please. If the EBSU teaching hospital built in 1991 is sufficient enough, then what's the need for the merger with FMC? 1 Like |

jolly94: You're really ignorant! The time higher education.com isn't reputable. Besides, LASU ranks 149th according to its report. That's why I've been hammering on your lack of comprehension. There's no truth in you. Recently, a tetanus patient was rejected in LASUTH for bed shortage. Common hospital beds ooo! EBSU teaching hospital has the South East virology centre, VVF centre for the South South and the South East and the Covid 19 reference testing centre in the South East. Any lassa fever case in the South East is referred to it too. Ignorance has taken hold of you, guy. That link of yours never said that it's the best state university in Nigeria. You're not a scholar. A liar isn't fit for any scholarly work. Go and play with your fellow kids, instead of discussing important issues. |

Mandeyy:Your coursemate not making second class upper then does not change the fact that he has healthy brains cells or incapable to improve his mental capacity. He simply saw is weakness, worked hard and smart ( by choosing UI). And today he is in such an enviable position as a final year medical student in the most prestigious medical school in the country. And by the way just look at how you downgraded the ability and power of change of your supposed close friend. I hope thats not how you treat your close friends and relatives. 1 Like |

Mandeyy:If that's not what you inferred then why are you trying to make a point to prove your myopic ascertions? Mr. Egghead made a statement, which is true in all it ramification. It not going well with you because of your low self-esteem in that your manageable EBSU, you decided to rant and bark like a rabid dog trying to downplay the enviable reputation of UI. 1 Like |

Thank God other forumites can see and judge for themselves. Mandeyy: |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 4:14pm On Oct 29, 2021 |
jolly94: The FMC is on its own, while the EBSU teaching hospital is on its own. However, both of them are the two arms of the same Federal Teaching Hospital. The EBSU teaching hospital was sufficient for training when Ebonyi State was in Enugu State. On creation of Ebonyi State, Enugu State had no teaching hospital because the then teaching hospital was located in the present-day Ebonyi State. It had to build its own teaching hospital from scratch. Sam Egwu refurbished the teaching hospital and looked for the best hands from the UNTH Enugu to come and teach in the teaching hospital. The problem started when Elechi took over from Sam Egwu and decided to give the teaching hospital to the FG. The state elders warned him against that. Sam Egwu warned him, but he didn't listen. The teaching hospital wasn't lacking anything then. It was just wickedness on his part. So many stakeholders still say it till today that he messed up. So, the fault came from him. Even the medical lecturers warned him. That's the political problem with African politicians. Despite the huge allocations he received from the FG which were more than those received when Sam Egwu was governor, he deliberately refused to pay workers and was hell-bent on asking the FG to take over, with a written agreement on how the EBSU college of medicine would still be retained in EBSU. He had the same issue with other lecturers in EBSU. That's why people never wanted the former minister of health as governor since he was his candidate to replace him as governor. |

jolly94: Elseview you cited, didn't state anything about the UI's 9 lecturers you mentioned before. Besides, the Statisense isn't a recognized authority. Since you mentioned Stanford University, go direct to Stanford website and get the information so that it'll be authentic. Also, you earlier wrote about the UI's 9 lecturers being among the world's 2% best, without actually stating the researches undertaken by them that caught the eyes of the international scientific community. You even made it seem as if it were the UI alone in Nigeria that produced all those scientists. Now, you've given an unreliable Statisense statistics that even mentioned that other Nigerian universities' lecturers are part of the world's 2%. |

Mandeyy:I pity this your defenceless state of self-imposed ignorance. I provided website you didn't click to read with the purest of heart. jolly94: I never said that I applied to study medicine in UNN. I only wrote that my brief stay in dentistry at the UNN proved that education there is at par with what's obtainable in state universities. You should be the one to add value to yourself because you're really ignorant. Also pray to have opportunities that will expose you to respectable clinical cases in a high class medical institution because you're extremely ignorant for having failed to understand that any Nigerian medical school accredited by the MDCN graduates qualified medical doctors, and the competence isn't questionable once the medical school is accredited by the MDCN. I doubt you're a medical student, because your character doesn't portray it. You're probably a Jambite masquerading as a medical student. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 4:46pm On Oct 29, 2021 |
jolly94: Chai! Your ignorance is extremely nauseating. Any school can give a biased piece of information that it's the best in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Every university does that. They're the ones that give out the information to be published on those websites. You're an ignoramuse numero uno. Chai!!! Nowhere was it stated there that it's the 4th best. Stop giving out fake information. I really think you should go back and read up mastery of comprehension in secondary school. I read everything on the site, and I didn't see the 4th best. |

Mandeyy:I have shown you that it is a statistical research conducted by some authorities from Stanford and published, which is seen presently in Elsevier and Scopus but you chose to be impatient and myopic because you have already taken an ignomible stance. Even when National newspapers and statisense made a summary of the well global recognise article, because you're lazy and incapable to do such, you decided to discredit Elsevier, Statisense,Tribune and other National newspapers because you're pained that it's not your "world class EBSU". 1 Like |

jolly94: No teaching hospital in Nigeria is better than the other. They all have their individual strengths and weaknesses. In fact, it's a shame to the world that some cases ought to have been treated in Nigeria are referred to India, because the political class doesn't want to refurbish our teaching hospitals and FMCs. |

Mandeyy:So according to you EBSU teaching hospital is same as UCH Ibadan in quality and standard. I can now see why you're unable to read MBBS in a first generation University. And your friend is doing such and about to graduate, that's why it's still paining you. A friend that you think you're better than living your dream and fantasy being in UCH. Don't worry when he graduates on is ward coat it will be inscribed MBBS (Ib). And yours from a low school unrecognised from any part of the world except in Ebonyi. 4 Likes |

According to Mr. Mandeyy, his "world class EBSU" is equal to UI, UNILAG,ABU,OAU, UNN, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Yale etc, since all are accredited and fit to study medicine = DELUSION OF GRANDEUR ( This should be given the most ignominious and fallacious statement on Nairaland in year 2021) COMIC OF THE YEAR 1 Like |
