Anything can happen. I mean anything!
Unprecedented results are very common in this market.

best to sell before closure for short term players ! IMO (cash in 10 - 20% after fees)
else its a liquidity trap cause of d rush for the exit pre closure date & post closure.
your patience will be tested with capital tied up pending supposed div payments
we keep learning

Truth is, you can't predict the market. Before, we have had seasons when immediately after ex div (Mark down), prices recovered same day. So capital was preserved why dividend was earned.

I feel an increase in short termers in the market is affecting us. If we still had huge impact from Foreign investments, which most times are long termers, they would not be thinking of playing short term. A typical huge fund manager buys in, earns a div yield of 11-12% which is cool, waits close to one year to review if the investment should be disposed of, expecting that at least capital should be preserved within the period. So in essence you have more buyers before dividend mark down date and less sellers immediately after.

We just need to understand the times and play.

I am no longer moved by those bull traps.
The funny thing is that even if FCMB declare 20% dividend @ current price the share price will still go down.
NSE is no longer interesting

You're not going to see any significant turn around in Zenith bank YET. At least not this week. FBNH can still go either way. I suspect there'll be brief respite for both stocks, yes, but they are still going DOWN. I remember stating the path UCAP was going to take in it's last trading days before it's Ex-div, which it did. The market needs more than just new 52 week lows to stage an effective turn around. Emphasis on 'effective'

But this is just my call (more of speculation). We will see what the market has to say. wink
smiley
your call does not spur action and too many loose bits. since you're speculating, price and time should be first contemplated and can then be vaguely specified.
"not this week" is too vague. "FBNH can still go either way" is also vague. "...respite"; vague. "... but they are still going down" this is clearly a good example because stocks are always heading down in a bear market, it's predicting a detailed heading up that's the tricky part.
Also my prediction for a turnaround has little to do with any new 52 week low.

Market, starting with a couple of stocks like Zenith bank, will begin to turn around on Friday if not tomorrow. Then by next week others will follow. Zenith offered good price @ N10.52 today, closed @ 10.96 though 11.00 was expected. If it trades lower tomorrow - take it!

As for FBNH i think we should be patient. wink
